Last Chapter Recap: "Don't even think about that!" Adam said sharply. "I didn't make you as my slave to sacrifice you so easily."
NOW
Gravity Prison
That's right, there must be some way to delay our arrival! Think, Adam! Think!
Just as my brain starts working at its highest gear with the help of Ava, the ship is violently shaken by an unknown force. Although I, pressured by gravity force, don't feel the full brunt of the impact, Ivanna is thrown to the wall like but she managed to steady herself.
"Ugh..." Ivanna groaned, clearly frustrated.
"What in the hell was that?!" Adam asked, his voice filled with shock and disbelief.
"The captain did mention we might have some... turbulence," Ivanna said, her tone growing serious. "We're in a dangerous star-zone."
Ah, right, I almost forgot. Vermillion sector isn't a route starships often take. Even if lt. Brody charted a perfect route for Goliath, he can't predict every little asteroid on our path.
"Fuck," Adam muttered, his frustration rising. "As if I needed even more unpredictability..."
"…" Ivanna lowered her head silently, a quiet acknowledgment of the weight of the situation.
Even Ivanna seems dejected, unable to contribute anything to my plan. For my devoted slaves, there's nothing more frustrating than being useless to me.
"Don't worry, Ivanna," Adam said, his voice softening in an attempt to comfort her. "I'll think of something."
"Master..." Ivanna called, her voice soft yet filled with something unspoken.
"For now, stick to the plan," Adam said firmly, his expression hardening. "Especially in regard to Princess Tila."
"Princess Tila, Master?" Ivanna asked, her voice laced with doubt.
"That's right," Adam said, his tone steady. "She's another unpredictable element. I want to know more about her—her activities, her routine, everything."
Until now, I neglected the princess, because I was focused on core crew members. however, with every day, she becomes a more and more central player on the game.
"Understood, Master," Ivanna said, nodding. "I'll relay that to the other girls."
"I expect the princess will pay me a visit later on..." Adam said, his tone serious. "Please have one of you accompany her. If she has some crazy idea, I'd like to have safety with me."
"Of course, Master," Ivanna said, her voice unwavering. "We'd gladly give our lives for you."
I nod, to which Ivanna answer with salute, then leaves the door, leaving me alone again.
"Fuck..." Adam muttered to himself. "I should've asked her to put me on some recreational program."
This is the Fifth century, we should've conquered boredom long ago… sigh.
Dejected, I throw myself into something productive. Four days. My time limit… I need to come with a new plan.
…
Up until now, my revised plan has been going almost perfectly. However, with every passing minute, I feel more and more uneasy.
Of course, it doesn't help that I'm dreadfully bored. Since her royal highness may pay me a visit at any moment, I can't enjoy leisure time with my slaves like I did yesterday.
Only an occasional shake reminds one of the passing times. The timer on terminal tells me it's barely one o'clock, yet it feels like days have passed.
"Oooooooh—damn!" Adam shouted, the sudden wave of tension breaking through his composure.
Just when I thought one of my beloved slaves telepathically read my mind… turns out, my visitor is this guy.
… Brody.
Unlike his superior, lt. Brody has no tolerance for banter from captured spy.
He does something to the terminal, although from my pace, it's difficult to see what exactly. Well as long as he doesn't mess with the main setting, I don't care.
… Brody.
… Adam.
This uneasy silence between us is making me mad.
Huh? Did he find something?
"You sneaky bastard...!" Brody said suddenly, after a long moment of silence, his eyes narrowing as he stared at the terminal.
"Oh, come on—I'm a spy," Adam said with a grin. "That's a compliment."
"Aye, but not for long," Brody said, narrowing his eyes. "How did you... No, never mind."
"Hey, don't leave me hanging like that!" Adam shouted, watching Lieutenant Brody retreat down the corridor without looking back.
Despite my yells, lt. Brody leaves the room without looking back. What the fuck?!
No, think about it calmy, Adam. What was even the point of his visit? What did he find in the terminal?
Did they realize I hacked several systems on the ship? Even if, there's no way they'd realize I did it after my capture, not beforehand. I made sure of it.
Furthermore, I did so through my omni-tool, not the terminal. I'm not so stupid.
I even made sure to erase all camera footage and replace it with dummy… unless they bring in specialist, they should not realize what-
…
I have a bad feeling. Very bad feeling about this.
Fuck, maybe I should've staged a mutiny outright…
…
No good. No good. Too many uncertainties. Too little answers. This is no good.
Fuck, why do my plans never can go perfectly all the way long?!!
Tired, I resign myself to my fate. It's two o'clock… I hope the princess will pay me a visit at least once.
