Chapter 2 - Tobirama Senju

The Kinkaku Force (金角部隊, Kinkaku Butai) was a special team of at least twenty highly skilled ninjas from Kumogakure during the time of the First Great Shinobi World War. The only known members of the group during this period were the infamous Gold and Silver Brothers, who are recognized as the most fearsome criminals in Kumogakure's history. Together with the rest of the force, they tracked down Team Tobirama, which included Danzō Shimura, Torifu Akimichi, and Kagami Uchiha, trapping them on the battlefield.

Ultimately, the Second Hokage sacrificed himself to allow his subordinates to escape.

...

The night covered the clearing like a cold, gloomy shroud. Rain fell endlessly, gathering in dark puddles among the craters and debris of what was once a vibrant forest. Scorched branches and dark bloodstains littered the muddy ground, while a dense fog crept slowly across the field, as if trying to hide the scars of battle. All around, shattered trees stood like wooden corpses, silently watching as war claimed another life.

The devastated landscape, full of craters and blood-stained ground, was proof that a large-scale battle had taken place in this Shinobi World.

Kinkaku and Ginkaku were injured at the moment, but relatively in perfect condition with most of their chakra still intact. The majority of their force was dead, some missing limbs.

Kinkaku and Ginkaku, the infamous Gold and Silver Brothers, watched with triumphant smiles on their faces, like hunters gloating over a weakened prey.

"This battle took longer than expected, don't you think, brother?"

Kinkaku was smiling after the battle. His force of more than 500 men had been decimated, going from 500 active to only 13, including his brother. But out of those 13 who could still do something, only 5 could keep fighting.

All of them were Jōnin rank or higher.

The skill the Second Hokage demonstrated with his Water Release was incredible.

Despite his limited chakra reserves, his perfect control over it allowed him to drown all the cannon fodder within seconds, creating a terrain that favored him. But the Hokage didn't know they had Water and Fire Release users who could turn the flooded terrain to their advantage.

Even so, the numerical superiority was undeniable.

Now, the acclaimed God of Water Release was wounded and at the mercy of the forces of the Hidden Cloud.

The once-glorious appearance of the Second Hokage was now haggard and bloodied, with multiple kunai lodged in his arms and legs.

His iconic battle armor was completely destroyed, with only the metal shoulder plates remaining.

In the center of the clearing stood Tobirama Senju, the Second Hokage, covered in wounds and gripping his bloodstained kunai in a reverse grip. His white hair, soaked in blood and sweat, hung over his face as he panted heavily, his blurry gaze still filled with determination. In front of him, Kumogakure's shinobi surrounded his position.

With a bloodthirsty smile, Tobirama rose once more. Though exhausted and mentally drained, he still had the guts to fight, even though he knew his fate was sealed.

"Why do you keep fighting, Senju?" Ginkaku asked mockingly, trying to weaken his resolve. "Wouldn't it be better to surrender and end your suffering?"

Tobirama took a deep breath before channeling chakra into his vocal cords to amplify his voice so everyone could hear him."For Konoha, I will fight to my last breath. For my comrades, for my ideals. I will fight for what the Land of Fire represents, and for what my brother built. Konoha is my home."

Ginkaku simply frowned in Tobirama's direction, though deep down he felt a spark of intrigue at the man's determination.

Tobirama took a fighting stance, holding both kunai in a reverse grip with one foot slightly ahead of the other, and launched himself at the first shinobi he saw.

His chakra presence was nearly gone — he had enough for a few more jutsu, but not nearly enough to fight against these monsters. So he forced himself to rely on taijutsu. Though not known for his hand-to-hand combat, that didn't mean he wasn't good at it. Quite the opposite — his countless war experiences from a young age forged him into what he had become, having faced Uchiha even without weapons, trusting in his physical capability.

However, right now, he was far too weakened.

Tobirama wasn't stupid. He could have fought against the Cloud shinobi by ordering his students to retreat far enough and then used a flash of the Flying Thunder God to buy enough time to escape.

But this battle turned out to be more difficult than even he had expected.

The enemy had brought too much cannon fodder. They used their numbers to overwhelm him, not allowing him a moment to think, forcing him to focus more on survival than anything else.

However, due to the amount of chakra he spent, he would likely die here.

The shinobi he rushed at expertly dodged, moving to the side as Tobirama slashed with one of his kunai in that direction.

Kinkaku nodded toward one of his team's shinobi, who immediately charged forward, unsheathing a long sword and releasing a flash of crackling lightning chakra. Tobirama barely dodged the first strike by centimeters, feeling the blade slice past his face, and countered with a quick slash that forced his opponent to fall back.

A second ninja, agile and serpent-like in his movements, appeared to Tobirama's left. Tobirama spun on his axis and blocked the attack, but before he could land a blow, a third attacker joined the fray, launching a flurry of shuriken imbued with lightning chakra. Tobirama barely had time to move his kunai with expert skill, forming a clone that deflected the incoming metal stars. The shuriken sparked and crackled as they clashed with the clone's weapons. Once the attack was diverted, Tobirama seized the moment and landed a swift kick on the enemy in front of him, who could only block it with effort, surprised by Tobirama's strength. Wasting no time, Tobirama quickly created distance between them.

The situation kept getting worse. The Kumogakure ninjas were exploiting every opportunity to wear him down.

And he knew it.

Tobirama sensed movement behind him—a Cloud ninja was trying to attack from his blind spot. He quickly turned and hurled a kunai toward the attacker's neck. The blade cut through the air, but the ninja vanished in a flash of light, leaving behind a flickering silhouette of residual electricity.

'A lightning clone?' Tobirama realized. The attack should have electrocuted and paralyzed him, since that was how elemental clones functioned—but this one didn't.

Tobirama quickly figured it out. 'They know I'm a sealing master'

The Kurohana Clan, one of the clans that collaborated in founding the Leaf, had taught him an ancient sealing formula that allowed him to absorb chakra from enemy attacks and use it as his own.

That didn't work in their favor now, because they knew a ninja like Tobirama, in his state, had nothing to lose.

Tobirama frowned at what was happening. These guys were being too meticulous.

'It's obvious I won't get out of this alive.' Tobirama's thoughts were sharp, not sentimental. He didn't care about dying if it meant the next generation could shine.

'In that case…' Tobirama performed a series of hand seals that activated a seal on the back of his head—one that would destroy his brain in case of death. Every member of the Senju Clan during the Warring States Era carried this seal. It ensured that the secrets of their techniques were never leaked to the enemy. That's why the Uchiha were never able to steal any of their techniques or knowledge—unless they captured a Senju alive.

Just as Tobirama finished his seals, a ninja hiding in the shadows of a fallen tree peeked out slightly, taking advantage of Tobirama being distracted by the hand signs, and launched a wave of chakra at him. Tobirama took the hit directly to the chest without time to react, being thrown several meters back until he crashed against the trunk of a tree—or so the attacking shinobi thought, only to realize the body that hit the tree was a substitution.

The shinobi's eyes lit up and widened in surprise when he felt his neck twist sharply and the light in his eyes faded as he wondered what had gone wrong.

Tobirama remained standing, breathing heavily but not giving an inch.

His eyes were fixed on the Gold and Silver Brothers, Kinkaku and Ginkaku, who looked at him with a mix of arrogance and sadism.

"Seems like the rumors about the Second Hokage weren't lies, huh?"

Mocked Ginkaku, his eyes gleaming with that characteristic cruelty. His tone had a twisted undertone, a macabre pleasure in every word.

"You're pretty hard to kill, but you've already given everything you had. When we're done with you, there'll be an entire market fighting over your corpse."

Kinkaku let out a laugh, and his eyes gleamed, almost feverish.

"Imagine the price. Your remains will be a coveted prize. The doctors from the Sand village, the Tsuchikage of Iwagakure… every shinobi will want your secrets."

Tobirama's face remained expressionless, but a spark of fury lit up in his eyes.

"If we sell every piece of you, we could fund our own forces."

"Or better yet, spread rumors about the abilities of Kumogakure and how weak Konoha was."

Added Kinkaku coldly.

"Let everyone search through your remains for the secrets of the Leaf…"

laughed Ginkaku, unsheathing the Shichiseiken, the legendary sword he carried that was rumored to be one of the Sage of Six Paths' treasures.

However, Tobirama had a plan—a plan that might go wrong.

Both brothers launched into the attack. Tobirama, despite the pain in his limbs and blood loss, activated one last technique of his water nature. Quick seals, perfect seals, a technique he had been working on in recent months but that wasn't very powerful.

Suddenly, the rainwater and mud on the ground rose, forming liquid serpents that surrounded the brothers, slithering toward their bodies. However, the two dodged skillfully. Kinkaku charged in with brute strength, dodging the water serpents and throwing a devastating punch that Tobirama barely managed to deflect. Ginkaku took advantage of the distraction and slashed with the Shichiseiken, which the Hokage blocked with a kunai in a desperate maneuver.

The pressure of the attacks was relentless. Tobirama slid back, panting, and with an evasive move appeared behind Kinkaku in a blink, trying to take advantage of the element of surprise.

He managed to strike him in the back with a palm strike and in that moment placed a seal on his body without him noticing, throwing him off balance, and immediately launched a barrage of shuriken covered in water chakra toward Ginkaku. But Ginkaku deflected them with a sweep of his sword and lunged at Tobirama with renewed force.

"BASTARD!"

shouted Kinkaku, wiping the blood dripping from a superficial cut on his arm, his expression growing wilder.

Tobirama tried to create distance, but Ginkaku reached him in the blink of an eye, wielding the sword in an arc that Tobirama couldn't fully dodge. The Shichiseiken grazed his shoulder and tore through his armor, deepening the wounds and drawing a grunt of pain from him. He staggered back, but Ginkaku gave him no respite; he kept attacking, each blow overwhelming, each slash weakening him further.

Tobirama moved under a slash of his sword, taking advantage of the moment to launch a chakra-charged palm strike that hit his chest and pushed him back just enough.

With a bloodthirsty grin, Tobirama used the last bit of chakra he had left in his final jutsus.

The brothers, once regrouped, tried to charge at the same time to overpower Tobirama once and for all.

However, not everything went as expected—Tobirama used a hand seal to activate the Paralysis Seal he had placed on both brothers.

"A paralysis seal?" Kinkaku felt the stiffness in his body, his muscles not responding as they were restrained by a superior force. "WHEN?!"

Ginkaku's face paled and sweat ran down his forehead as he remembered Tobirama striking them with his palm.

He looked at Kinkaku, knowing they had made a fatal mistake—one that might cost them their lives.

"It won't stop them forever, but it will buy me enough time." Tobirama then performed several hand seals, and a wave of water surged from the ground, expanding throughout the clearing, moving the bodies of slain ninjas, the destroyed trees, and uprooting even the healthy ones.

"!!Tandem Explosive Tags!!!"

Tobirama smiled smugly—they had gotten overconfident, and now they would pay the price. It's a jutsu in which Tobirama releases explosive tags from his body in Edo Tensei—or in this case, uses already-prepared explosive tags, making them float toward the enemy and adhere to the target. These, in turn, summon more explosive tags and begin to detonate, causing a powerful, continuous chain of explosions. This explosion chain covers large distances, destroying everything around.

For a more effective result, the target must first be restrained, as seen when Hashirama's wood clone held down Obito so Tobirama's technique could have a greater effect. This technique is very devastating, even for the user, creating an explosion of great proportions, much larger than a giant toad like Gamakichi, even surpassing the height of the Ten Tails in its third stage.

Tobirama was mixing already-created explosive tags and using the water to place them all over the area.

"I'll make sure to take them to hell with me." Tobirama smiled, knowing that all his chakra would be spent on this massive attack and that he would likely die from chakra exhaustion—but that was fine with him. He would accept that end gladly. After all, he was sure that if there was a heaven and a hell, he would go to hell to fight all the Uchiha waiting to kill him.

Obviously, the tags

.would multiply until he ran out of chakra—and that wouldn't take long.

Finally, Tobirama fell to his knees, gasping. His strength had reached its limit, and his exhausted body barely responded.

He smiled and stopped using the water jutsu to move the explosive tags across the field. Around him, within a 300-meter radius, explosive tags lay all over the forest, stuck to trunks and the ground.

'This jutsu should be called Tandem Explosive Tags: Final Death or something, right? Who cares, it's not like anyone's going to see it to name it.'His gaze turned to his enemies, who were covered up to their necks in explosive tags.

They were shouting things at him with furious expressions, but he couldn't hear them—his ears were deaf, and his vision was a bit blurry.

He could feel the seal beginning to weaken, and soon they would break free from it.

A red chakra was seeping through the tags, and he recognized it—it was the Kyubi's chakra.

"Bam," Tobirama said before focusing the last bit of chakra to ignite the explosive tags.

Kinkaku seized the moment when he felt the seal break, grabbing Tobirama by the neck and slamming him into the ground with immense force, creating a crater in the muddy earth.

"DAMN HOKAGE!!" Kinkaku's voice was furious, as a red chakra cloak surrounded him.

Ginkaku felt the seal release him as well, and he too covered himself in Nine-Tails chakra, thinking it would save him.

Meanwhile...

Tobirama felt his energy abandon him. His vision began to fade as an icy cold took over his body.

Unable to move, Tobirama closed his eyes, accepting his fate as one final thought crossed his mind:

'Saru… I leave everything in your hands…'

However, it was too late for the brothers, who were enraged and furious. The clearing and everything marked by Tobirama's tags exploded multiple times, and the ground shook as if the very earth was being reshaped by God.

The tremor was heard for miles and miles, as the ground shook violently.

Danzō and Hiruzen, who were in the rear of the group, felt the ground tremble intensely.

Their heads turned sharply back, and in the distance they could see a small white dot that lingered for a few seconds before disappearing—and then black smoke began to rise.

'Sensei…' Both Hiruzen and Danzō thought, as their hearts sank—for one, a great model of what a Leaf military leader should be; for the other, a shinobi with a noble soul. The smoke kept rising into the sky, blackening that region.

Their abrupt reaction caused everyone to look in the same direction and fall into a moment of stunned silence.

"We have to keep moving," Danzo finally said as he looked at the group seriously.

....

At the site of the massive explosion.

Both brothers emerged from the smoke. Kinkaku spat blood, looking pitiful—covered in burns and lacerations, one hand missing and the other arm gone.

"You're nothing but history now, Hokage," said Ginkaku, as he and his brother laughed in satisfaction.

The Nine-Tails' chakra had removed most of the explosive tags, rendering them useless, but the explosion had still affected them.

Their bodies were scorched and burned, but nothing beyond severe; they had used all the Nine-Tails' chakra they had to shield themselves from the explosion, and even then, it had cost them greatly, as they had also used part of the chakra to cover Tobirama Senju's body in order to sell it.

Tobirama Senju was not killed the way they would later claim by manipulating the story. The Hokage was, and had always been, a bastard on the battlefield. Even in his final moments, he tried to take them down—though in Konoha, he would be seen as a hero to be remembered for generations.

The smiles of Kinkaku and Ginkaku were quick to return as they grabbed the body and placed it in a scroll...

And so, Tobirama Senju, the Second Hokage, was taken as a trophy by the Gold and Silver Brothers, sealing his body into a scroll, ready to sell the remains of Konoha's leader to the highest bidder.

His warrior spirit had faded, but his sacrifice would forever resonate in the hearts of his village.

"Hehe, well, at least he put up a fight, the bastard..."

Ginkaku commented with a mix of respect and disdain, his eyes gleaming with greed.

The Nine-Tails' chakra was slowly restoring their wounds, healing them.

"That doesn't matter anymore, brother."

Kinkaku let out a mocking laugh as he secured the scroll with the body.

As they both smiled cheerfully at their hunt, they suddenly felt that something was wrong—a chill ran down both of their spines.

Suddenly, an overwhelming pressure spread through the clearing. The Gold and Silver Brothers, who had been standing, dropped to their knees, overcome by an invisible force. A man with a relaxed and confident demeanor walked through the smoke while whistling, watching them as if they were mere pieces on his board. He wore a rakusu of golden and green squares over a blue yukata and black pants, with white tabi and brown platform sandals. His fair skin had a slightly bronzed tone, and a scar on his forehead was his most distinctive feature. His dark, calculating eyes settled on the brothers with a playful smile.

"Wow, the Second Hokage really was strong. If you hadn't had the Nine-Tails' chakra in your bodies, you wouldn't have even been able to get rid of the explosive tags."

Said the mysterious man as he scanned the destroyed area—a large, smoking crater could be seen several hundred meters away, and fire was spreading rapidly.

Suddenly, the man's gaze fixed on them.

"Allow me to ask you a question…"

The man spoke in a calm, almost friendly tone, while his gaze focused on the brothers.

"Could you give me the body you just obtained?"

The tone was gentle, but the chill in his words crawled down their spines. Both brothers felt cold sweat on their foreheads; they had no idea who this man was or where he had come from, but his presence was terrifying.

Without waiting for a reply, the man continued silently, evaluating the situation. 'I suppose they won't give me the body without a fight,' thought Kenjaku, quickly calculating his options.

'I could use Uzumaki, but that would leave me unable to use him for a month.' The system had ordered him to take Tobirama Senju's body or he would die. Just one of those system things.

With the help of Senju cells and the power of the First Hokage flowing through his body, his techniques weren't exhausting. He could easily finish off the remaining ninjas.

Kinkaku and Ginkaku raised their guard, ready to fight.

"Very well… if that's how you prefer it."

Said Kenjaku, as his smile turned cold and calculating. In a blur of speed, he vanished and reappeared in front of them, his posture calm but brimming with power. Performing multiple hand signs at high speed, he murmured:

"Wood Style: Underground Root Jutsu."

Immediately, thick and resilient roots burst from the ground, wrapping around both brothers with speed and precision. The Gold and Silver Brothers tried to break free, but the roots didn't just immobilize their bodies—they also drained their chakra, limiting any attempt to channel the power of the Kyūbi they had absorbed.

The brothers felt their bodies go limp, and a sense of despair and shock began to fill their eyes. Additional roots covered their mouths and tightened around their necks, choking off any chance to scream or release chakra.

Kenjaku, with indifference and an annoyed grimace, cleaned his ear with his pinky finger as he walked among the immobilized bodies of the brothers. He leaned over Kinkaku, who was still holding the scroll with Tobirama's body, and after a brief inspection, he extracted the scroll.

To ensure the brothers wouldn't escape or that the Kyūbi's chakra wouldn't be released, he placed a seal on each of them—not too strong, but effective enough to keep them under control.

"With a little Wood Release, this should be more than enough to cover what the seals can't."

He murmured quietly to himself.

Kenjaku raised his hands toward the brothers and began slowly absorbing the Kyūbi's chakra from their bodies. Twenty minutes later, after completing the exhausting process, he sighed as a bead of sweat rolled down his forehead.

"Whew, that took a bit…"

he muttered as he examined the inert bodies of Kinkaku and Ginkaku, now completely drained of chakra and lifeless. He had killed them after absorbing the Kyūbi's power and made sure to take the treasures of the Sage of Six Paths they carried.

When he was done, he turned on his heels, ready to leave—but a familiar presence caught his attention.

"Zetsu…"

he said, unsurprised, upon seeing the black and white half of Zetsu emerging from a nearby tree.

Zetsu scanned the area, then looked at Kenjaku.

"Madara wants to see you."

Zetsu replied in his dark, enigmatic tone.

Saying no more, Zetsu vanished back into the trees, taking the bodies of the Gold and Silver Brothers with him. Kenjaku watched him leave, then muttered with a faint smile:

"It's been a while since I spoke with Madara… I wonder what he wants now."

Landing softly on the ground in a calculated manner, almost as if the air itself had gently braced against the earth, I stood as my dark hair fell down my back.

With a sigh, I took a moment to quiet my busy and somewhat chaotic life, drawing in another breath of air from the Valley of the End.

My eyes wandered across the landscape, resting on the two towering statues that dominated the valley: Madara and Hashirama, immortalized in stone. I didn't remember seeing them the last time I was here. I didn't know when they had been built, but I had to admit the talent of whoever had sculpted them.

And smiling, I recalled the new prize I had obtained just a few days ago.

Slowly approaching the feet of the towering statue of Hashirama, I felt near his big toe.

Click.

Pressing a small stone near Hashirama's toe, a compartment opened—just big enough for a human body to fit inside.

A current of cold air blew from the hole, as if it were fleeing from whatever lay below. It was a hole that seemed to have no end.

Without hesitation, I stepped into the dark abyss, jumping in immediately behind it, as the compartment closed behind me, leaving me in darkness.

Plash.

Landing calmly on the ground, still with a smile on my face, I found that beneath me was a long river full of water.

Under normal circumstances, the water would simply flow on, part of the cave's natural formation. But this wasn't normal water—it was infused with chakra.

'This could only be the work of the Zetsu.'

Just as I'd thought, a Zetsu emerged from one of the cave walls.

"Madara already knows you're here. I'll take you to him."

A regular Zetsu.

'It seems Madara has perfected his weapons to a great extent, but they're still not close to the level of what's shown when Yamato is connected instead of a living Hashirama clone.'

"At least, it seems Madara has connected the chakra of this water to one of the Zetsus, making it a chakra detection source. That's clever."

The cave was coated with explosive seals everywhere, which would cause it to collapse if one was activated or if an unrecognized presence or irregular action was detected by the Zetsus.

As I continued walking calmly, another gust of cold air hit my face, making me squint slightly from the intensity with which it struck me.

Honestly, I wasn't sure what Madara wanted from me, but when I saw him sitting on a wooden throne with his usual serious expression, even more so than usual, I had an idea of what he wanted.

"I see you're rather happy, Kenjaku."

Madara said, walking toward his wooden throne as I entered through the entrance of the small cave.

Noticing that there were scrolls and weapons piled up everywhere, meaning he was likely moving hideouts, I decided not to say anything and, as usual, answered his question.

"I simply had a good hunt, that's all."

With a lazy smile, I showed him the scroll containing Tobirama's body.

"Who is it this time?" Madara asked, with a hint of intrigue.

Knowing that Kenjaku changed bodies every so often, something he would never get used to.

"The killer of your brother."

Kenjaku said, lightly moving the scroll in his hands before tucking it into his clothing.

I thought he'd have a reaction if I said that, but apparently not this time.

With a smile, I looked at Madara, who was sitting indifferently on his throne.

The scroll contained the body of Tobirama Senju, carefully sealed. I had brought it with the intention of provoking him, but his reaction was surprisingly cold.

"It's not the same when you kill him, as it would have been if I had done it."

"I would have made that bastard suffer before sending him to the grave. He wouldn't have had a pleasant farewell before going to Kami."

His voice was calm, cold, with a slight touch of contained anger and a bit of sadistic pleasure.

My eyebrows rose slightly, but I stayed silent as Madara spoke again.

"So… you've already heard?"

Madara said, looking at Kenjaku intently.

Kenjaku tilted his head, curious.

"I haven't been keeping up with the news from the Leaf, so I'm not sure what you're talking about."

Kenjaku calmly studied Madara's appearance, which wasn't that old since Hashirama had only passed away a year ago.

Madara's gaze fixed on me as the temperature suddenly dropped several degrees.

"The new bearer of the ancestral eyes of the Kurohana clan has been born."

Madara's voice was serious and tense as he looked at Kenjaku. His voice carried a slight caution, and his fingers gripped the armrest of his chair tightly.

Kenjaku's eyebrows lifted slightly.

"There's a new user of the Six Eyes?"

Kenjaku remarked, feigning surprise.

Kenjaku knew this, after all, he founded the Kurohana clan. The descendants of the Kurohana clan were, in fact, his direct descendants. He left behind teachings about using domains, anti-domain techniques, and possible dojutsus that could emerge in his clan.

Madara nodded calmly.

"Apparently, the founder of the Kurohana clan was right about what he said and didn't seem to be lying."

Madara knew the danger the new bearer of the Six Eyes posed to his Eye of the Moon plan. They needed to kill him before he became too strong.

"We need to eliminate him; he's a potential threat to the plan."

His gaze shifted to me, clearly assigning the task to me. However, what he didn't expect…

"I refuse."

Kenjaku said calmly, looking at Madara, who widened his eyes at the refusal.

My refusal was direct, and the silence that followed was almost deafening.

Clearly irritated.

Frowning, Madara waited for a response as to why Kenjaku was rejecting the offer.

"We can't kill him now. The Second Great Ninja War is just around the corner with Tobirama's death at the hands of the Kinkaku and Ginkaku squad, and the Kurohana clan is more alert than ever. Also, remember that for every generation of ninjas in the Kurohana clan, at least three or four members are born who can use domains. Don't doubt that the current head of the Kurohana clan will have the four current members guard the new user of the Six Eyes until they grow."

Madara's fist clenched tighter, and his anger made his veins bulge in frustration, unable to do anything about it.

However, a bloodthirsty, excited smile spread across his face.

"Then we'll let him grow. I want to face him when he matures."

At the sight of Madara's smile, a scenario crossed my mind.

His bloodthirsty excitement sent a shiver down my spine. I imagined that confrontation: Madara, in his Edo Tensei form, facing the Satoru Gojo of this world in the Fourth Great Ninja War.

A faint smile crept onto my lips at this scenario.

"Honestly, I'd like to see that," I expressed my thoughts to Madara, who simply stared at me, his smile fading away.

"You're a member of the Kurohana clan as well, aren't you, Kenjaku?"

At his words, my mind went blank. However, my expression didn't reveal it.

His smile widened at my silence.

This made me tense up. Questions flooded my mind. 'How? How did he know? Has he known this for a while?'

"At what point did he realize that..."

Madara dismissed me with disdain as he closed his eyes again, resting them.
