After what felt like hours, Alessandra laid on the cold library floor, staring up at the ceiling as she thought of how she got herself in this position.
"You swindled me," Alessandra spoke. "It's nearing time for Isabelle and Lily to return. I haven't gotten any of the work I needed done."
Edgar propped himself up so he could look down at Alessandra.
"Why rush when tomorrow is another day and we have nothing to do? I am thinking of asking Penelope to let her sisters stay with her tomorrow. Wouldn't that be fun?" Edgar asked, seriously considering it.
Alessandra didn't dare look in Edgar's direction. "No, it wouldn't be fun. I can already feel my back aching, and all I can think of is having this room cleaned. While you have not changed much from your younger days, I have."
"Still, you manage to keep up with me. What are you doing?" Edgar asked, looking at where Alessandra pinched him. "That doesn't hurt me."
