Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 The Turtle's Pace

Just reading the introduction to this ability made his heart surge.

It could be used for both attacking and traveling, acting a bit like a combination of Kidō and Shunpo, but as a far stronger version of both skills.

Now, my shortcomings have been made up.

He thought to himself that the previous Neutral Infinity was essentially just a defensive skill. Now that Blue was unlocked, it was equivalent to having an additional attack skill and a mobility skill all at once. This was not $1 + 1 = 2$, but $1 + 1 \gg 2$.

"Although I still have abilities like Reversal Red, Hollow Purple, and Domain Expansion: Unlimited Void that I haven't unlocked yet, I can barely be called a Little Gojo now!"

However, just as he was immersed in excitement, the other person, who had been waiting for his reply, finally couldn't help it.

"You big liar! I already called you Sensei, but where is the thing you said you would show me?"

Kaito came back to his senses and rubbed Ichigo's head vigorously. "Don't be impatient. What I'm going to show you is very magical. Close your eyes and count to three."

"I won't trust you anymore," Ichigo protested.

"If you don't believe it, forget it," Kaito shrugged.

"Okay, I'll trust you one last time." Ichigo closed his eyes and began to count out loud. "One! Two! Three!"

The moment the last number left his mouth, Ichigo immediately opened his eyes.

However, there was no trace of Kaito in sight.

"Ah, you big liar!"

The boy's voice echoed furiously through the clinic.

Meanwhile, the perpetrator of the trick had already materialized in the sky a thousand meters away.

[ Fusion Progress: Gojō Satoru +0.3% ]

The system prompt sounded in his mind, and Kaito smiled. He hadn't expected that playing a little trick on the kid would yield a surprise boost.

I'll show you something nice when I get back, he thought.

He hadn't actually meant to just play a prank, but a moment ago, his senses had suddenly picked up a particularly strong wave of resentment. He had immediately used his newly unlocked ability, Blue, to teleport straight out of the clinic and up to a height of one thousand meters.

Here, he could use the Six Eyes to quickly check what was happening. This was one of the core traits of the Six Eyes, allowing for 360-degree, long-distance detection without a single blind spot.

In his memory of the canon, Gojo could stand firmly on the ground and check for danger at an altitude of nearly ten thousand meters. Kaito couldn't manage that scale with his current fusion percentage, so flying to a high altitude with clear visibility to activate the Six Eyes was his best alternative.

Underneath his sunglasses, his pale blue pupils, frown with white mist, looked like a dreamlike extension of the sky itself. Everything around him, including the distant cityscapes, laid itself bare in his vision.

"Found it," he murmured in less than a moment.

As night fell, traffic on a certain suburban street corner was sparse, and the streetlights cast a dim, eerie glow.

Suddenly, with a violent crash, a figure flew through the air, slammed hard onto the asphalt, and coughed up a spray of blood.

"How can it be so strong... I am no match for him at all!"

The figure lay on the ground, staring up at the slowly approaching, giant monster with pure horror written across his face.

He was a Shinigami Academy intern performing a routine soul burial on a Whole. Suddenly, a ripple had torn through the space, and a masked monster—a Hollow—abruptly materialized, swallowing the soul whole right in front of him. The intern had tried to fight back, but he was completely outmatched. He managed to hold his ground for only a few exchanges before being brutally swatted away.

"Ah, Captain, help! Why can't I get in touch with the communication squad?!" he shouted until his voice went hoarse.

At that moment, several people wearing the same academy uniform rushed to his side. "We are here to help you!"

The fallen student was relieved but quickly warned them, "Be careful, this hallow is incredibly powerful!"

However, his reminder did little to change the tide. Even under the combined siege of several students, the giant Hollow remained entirely unharmed, while two more of their own were quickly swatted aside and injured.

"We are no match for it. Let's retreat!"

"But there's a residential area right behind us! If we don't stop it here, a lot of innocent people will die!" someone else yelled.

"Haven't you contacted the captain yet?!"

"Not yet!"

While the group hesitated between fleeing and fighting a losing battle, a violent red light suddenly began to condense above the giant Hollow's head.

"Oh no... it's a Cero!" The most knowledgeable student in the group immediately turned pale.

It was already too late to dodge.

As despair painted itself across everyone's faces, the crimson beam of energy erupted, rushing down to vaporize them.

But right before it struck, a flash blinked before their eyes. A tall figure appeared out of thin air, standing directly in their path.

Boom!

Amidst the violent, deafening roar of the explosion, the students forced their eyes open, completely frozen by the incredible sight before them.

The destructive crimson beam, which should have obliterated them like lightning, was moving at a turtle's pace. The closer it got to the figure standing in front of them, the slower it became, until it finally ground to an absolute, mocking halt.

"What is this? Is this the power of a Zanpakutō?"

Shock rippled through the crowd.

But what shocked them even more was that the figure slowly stretched out a single hand toward the massive Hollow.

The next instant...

Spurt!

A localized, miniature black hole seemed to warp into existence around the giant monster, twisting, compressing, and brutally strangling its massive body. A moment later, the giant Hollow vanished entirely, and the sudden drop in spiritual pressure announced its absolute death.

"It's dead... just like that?"

The academy students stood dazed. This giant monster, which had left a dozen of them entirely helpless even while working together, had been casually crushed by a single person.

Who was he?

Once the initial shock wore off, everyone finally focused their attention on the figure standing before them.

He wore a dark uniform, possessed striking white hair, a tall and straight build, and a pair of pitch-black sunglasses. He looked effortlessly cool. Coupled with the display of casual dominance they had just witnessed, both the male and female students found themselves momentarily mesmerized.

The man who had saved them and left them completely speechless was, of course, Kaito. He had used the Six Eyes to spot the crisis from the clouds, immediately using Blue to warp to the coordinates and intercept the attack at the final second.

"Are you all okay?" Kaito turned his head slightly toward the group, speaking slowly.

His voice was smooth and magnetic. For a moment, the two female students in the crowd practically had stars in their eyes. How can a man be this perfect?

"We're fine," the most severely injured intern managed to say, coughing slightly as he expressed his gratitude. "May I ask... what is your name?"

"My name is Shiba Kaito," Kaito said with a relaxed smile that made several hearts skip a beat. "If there's nothing else, I'll be taking my leave."

The moment the words left his lips, he activated Blue and instantly vanished from the spot.

"Shiba Kaito..." The students silently repeated the name in their minds.

Suddenly, one of the interns looked up, a puzzled expression crossing his face. "Wait... why does that name sound so familiar?"
