To them it had been a small paradise—bright toys scattered about, cozy beds that still smelled of warmth, secret corners perfect for hiding, and so much joy packed into one room. Even Lucien, usually so calm and composed, lingered as if he too wished to stay. He hugged the small gift bag Alina had given him close to his chest, his crimson eyes shining with happiness yet touched with longing, as though he hoped the day might last just a little longer.
Alina crouched down, smiling softly at them. "We'll come again, don't worry. But now it's time to go home."
Boo floated dramatically, upside down, and moaned, "Boooo will never forget this day!! The playroom is now my second kingdom!" He pretended to faint, which made Drake snicker even through his own pout.
