Until…
"Hey…" Alina's voice broke gently through the fog, her fingers brushing Gabriel's arm like a leaf drifting onto water.
Gabriel blinked. He hadn't even realized his jaw had locked or that his breath had grown shallow.
"Let's go inside the office," he murmured, voice quiet but tight, as though it had passed through years of buried memory.
Alina nodded, her expression soft with concern, and followed him silently down the corridor.
His footsteps echoed differently… slower, heavier, like his soul hadn't quite caught up with his body.
By the time they reached the office, the air inside was tense.
Professor Hobb and Miss Kelly were already seated.
Dante stood by the window, arms crossed, his eyes dark and sharp. He looked furious.
When he saw Gabriel and Alina enter, he gave a single nod.
Gabriel went straight to him. "How was the situation?"
"Sorted out," Dante replied curtly. "But the kindergarten will be closed tomorrow. Another layer of shielding needs to be added."
