Chapter 6 - The State of the World

The steady rhythm of the train set a monotone backdrop, while Orion watched the scenery unfold through the window. Modern cities, dense forests, and small villages drifted past his golden eyes—each carrying a fragment of a world he still couldn't fully grasp.

Chloe, seated beside him, noticed his reflective silence. Since they had boarded, Orion hadn't spoken a word, quietly absorbing the changes around him. Knowing how little he understood about the present state of things, she decided to break the silence.

— "Well, prejudice against races like elves, beastmen, and others has eased a lot. There are still some with old-fashioned views, but most people have learned to accept differences. As for monsters—goblins, orcs, trolls—they now live mostly inside dungeons, far from civilization."

Orion remained silent, listening intently. His gaze stayed fixed on the passing landscape, but his mind registered every word.

— "Europe is ruled by the Church, headquartered in the Vatican. But some branches, like the one in England, have been used for… experiments. And it seems demons are starting to take hold in those places."

Chloe paused, stealing a glance at Orion, searching for a reaction. His face, however, gave nothing away—he was only processing the facts.

— "In North America, the United States reign supreme, their war heroes standing as symbols of power. Brazil has a man said to be the strongest on Earth, though almost nothing is known about him. The northern lands are in constant conflict—tribes and warriors locked in endless battle. And Japan? Well, Japan is ruled by the Yakuza. They control nearly everything there."

She exhaled softly. Orion was utterly absorbed in the flood of revelations. It wasn't just time that had changed—the world itself had reshaped into something entirely different from what he once knew.

— "Quite a different world, isn't it?" Chloe asked, her voice carrying a subtle nudge for him to respond.

Finally, Orion tore his eyes from the window, leaned back slightly, and crossed his arms.

— "Yes… very different." His voice was quiet, yet heavy with reflection.

Deep down, he knew this was only the beginning. There was far more to uncover. And part of him felt certain—his arrival in this era was no coincidence.

💛 Creator's Note 💛

Hello, everyone!

I'm just starting to share GOLD AGE with you, and I'm really excited to show this world full of action, mysteries, and unique characters. Each chapter is only the beginning of a much bigger story, and I can't wait to share it all with you.

In the coming months, my goal is to post more frequently, bringing new chapters regularly so you can follow the story without long waits.

If you enjoy the story and want to be part of this journey, I'm looking for creative supporters—not financially, but people who want to contribute art, illustrations, or visual ideas that could appear in future chapters. Also, feedback and suggestions always help improve every detail of GOLD AGE.

Let's build this universe together, chapter by chapter, scene by scene. Thank you for being here from the very beginning of this adventure! 💛
