Chapter 2 - Late.

Kane hurriedly rushed up the stairs all the way to the second floor and took a left turn followed by another left turn. He looked at his watch. He was five minutes late. It only took him a short sprint to reach the third at the hallway. Class 1-B. Kane stopped for a bit to catch his breath before slowly opening the brown wooden door.

" ... a hundred years after that." She suddenly stopped teaching as she spotted Kane trying to sneak into the class." Nice of you to finally join us Kane."

Kane felt like running away and had even began questioning why he even bothered to come. At the front of the class stood his class, and history, teacher. Miss Samantha Alise. On that day she had worn a light green victorian dress that had flower patterns at the bottom. Her brown hair was let loose to flow at the back, reaching ot least at the halfway point of her back. Her light brown eyes had a mixture of gentleness yet ferousity in them.

" Hey teach." He usually liked calling her teach. A hint of fear and nervousness was in his voice.

" Don't hey me child! This is the fourth time this week you've been late to my class." She complained.

" I know teach but I have a good reason as to why." Kane slowly moved closer to where she was standing. He could feel her piercing gaze. It was as if she was slowly waiting for the right time to pounce on him.

" Oh really. I hope it's not like the one where you said that your dog burnt your paper or you were late because of the heavy traffic." She said in a sarcastic tone.

" Actually the one about the traffic was true." Kane said, hoping to defend himself.

Miss Alise just continued looking at him, showing no emotion." Okay, come on. Let's hear it. Why are you late?"

" You see..," Kane looked over to William, his deskmate at the last row at the window sit. Immediately William realized this, quickly began to panic as he began thinking for possible excuses to bail Kane out of the mess.

" I'm waiting Kane." Her patience had began diminishing. William looked at Kane and tried gesturing a car hitting him by placing his right hand upright and moving his left hand to hit it. Kane couldn't make sense of what he was doing and it seemed that he had to fight this one alone.

All the while the whole class was a bit noisy as a few people were murmuring here and there while others were giggling and laughing.

" Let's see how he'll get himself out of this one." Whispered one of the students to the other.

William continued trying to help Kane, but cane was too much of a knucklehead to piece things together.

" William Melbourne! Try any more funny movements back there and you'll be joining Kane in the grave."

William immediately pretended to read his text book as her gave Kane a look of pity. Now Kane had to battle Miss Alisa all by himself.

" It seems you lack an explanation as to why you are late. You know what that means." Miss Alisa proceeded to remove a whip that she kept hidden at the teacher's desk.

" Say your final prayers Kane," she said as she lashed out her whip to get a clean hit of him.

Kane closed his eyes as he waited for the first lash but realized that it was taking a little longer than usual. That's when he slowly opened his eyes to a hand holding the whip.

" It's okay Miss Alisa, I'll take it from here." Her voice was soft. Her dark brown hair had rested upon her back with a bit of it going over her right shoulder. She wore a black suit that brought out her curvy figure and the top button of her shirt was open, showing a small bit of the top of her breasts. She had light brown chocolate skin. She was a real beauty and immediately she graced the class with her presence, all eyes could not resist her. Her hazelnut eyes met with that of Kane, her expression visibly showing that she was displeased. She was the school principal, Elizabeth Thorn.

Miss Alisa took back her whip and returned it to it's original position. Meanwhile Elizabeth took hold of Kane's hand and led him outside the class. As they left, Kane took a final look at Miss Alisa who was about to explode but maintained her composure. She then gave Kane a stare that conveyed the message,' You think this is over right? I'll meet you in the fourth period.'

Elizabeth and Kane walked in silence till they reached the staircase. Elizabeth then gave Kane a slight push. Kane turned and looked at her as she began pouting.

" What?" He asked, visibly annoyed.

" Don't I get a thank you." Her voice had softened, contrary to the authoritative tone she usually used.

" For saving you."

" Saving me? You are literally the reason why I got in trouble in the first place!" Kane almost shouted

" Come on, it's not my fault that I accidentally put sleeping pills in your food. "

Kane wasn't really angered by the fact that he was drugged with sleeping pills. He was angered by the fact that it occured four days in a row. How the hell was he going to explain that he was drugged by the school principal. They got to the first floor and took a right and went all the way to the principal's office that was at another right corner. Elizabeth looked at Kane who did not say anything.

" Are you angry at your elder sister?" She made sure to bring out her inner puppy eyes while asking her.

" How many times do I have to tell you, we aren't siblings" He coldly replied.
