A chilling voice cut through the forest's quiet.

Konan's mind flashed to an unexpected figure. Seeing the child's attack falter, she quickly formed hand seals.

"Paper Shuriken!"

Sheets of paper swirled in the air, then shot towards the child with deadly speed.

The child, momentarily startled, quickly recovered, dodging the shuriken with impossible agility and landing beside the palanquin.

This sight caused Yahiko and Nagato's faces to fall. Kumayama, barely escaping death, lunged at the child. The person in the palanquin was crucial to the mission; any mishap would ruin Akatsuki's hard-earned reputation.

"Don't go die," a calm voice said.

Kumayama saw a figure, wreathed in lightning, appearing before him with impossible speed. A lightning-fast kick struck his chest.

Boom! Kumayama flew back. Suddenly, sharp white bone spurs erupted from the ground, targeting Kai. The area around Kumayama was transformed into a bone-spur trap.

"Haha, I told you, Kimimaro may be young, but he's the Takeuchi clan's secret weapon," Kazuki said, his voice cruel. He easily deflected a combined attack from Nagato and Yahiko, leaping over the bone-spur field. His agility was far beyond that of an ordinary ninja.

"I've got you!"

A bone-covered hand shot out, seizing Kazuki's leg. Without ceremony, Kazuki was slammed to the ground.

"Lightning Release: Heavy Thunder Righteous Axe!"

Lightning paralyzed Kazuki momentarily. He was then slammed into the earth.

Boom! A deafening roar echoed as the ground shattered, cracks spreading like a spiderweb. Dust and lightning filled the air.

When the dust settled, a figure, wreathed in lightning, emerged unscathed from the bone-spur field.

Kazuki, spitting blood, his body contorting strangely, quickly recovered, his bones reforming. He landed beside Kimimaro.

"You're tough. Using Shikotsumyaku to protect your organs, you can regenerate from anything non-lethal," Kai said, loosening his own bones.

"No wonder even Yagura had headaches. This kekkei genkai is truly monstrous." In the original story, Kaguya Ōtsutsuki had mastered Shikotsumyaku; a single scratch could turn a person to dust.

The Takeuchi clan was a pale imitation. Even Kimimaro, one of the few promising members, met an early death.

"Who are you? You know the power of Shikotsumyaku, yet you interfere?" Kazuki asked, his voice menacing.

Kai's arrival had disrupted the battle, leaving three of Akatsuki heavily injured. If Kai hadn't intervened, Kumayama would have been killed.

Seeing Kai emerge unscathed from the bone-spur trap and nearly kill Kazuki, the atmosphere grew tense.

Kai smiled. "You misunderstood. My praise was for Shikotsumyaku. To me, everyone here is trash!"

His arrogant words made Nagato, Yahiko, and even Konan twitch. This was beyond arrogant. Yet, they couldn't refute him; they knew this youth was incredibly powerful.

"Arrogant!" Kazuki roared, enraged. The Takeuchi clan, feared throughout the land, had never been so disrespected.

"Kimimaro, kill him!" Kazuki ordered, showing no intention of fighting himself.

The five or six-year-old Kimimaro charged at Kai, his physical prowess already matching that of an adult clan member.

He appeared before Kai, bone spurs extending from his hands, aiming for Kai's face.

Everyone watched tensely. Even Yahiko and Nagato felt a chill as they watched Kai.

To their shock, Kai didn't react. Before they could react, two bone spurs struck Kai's head and chest.

Boom! A dull thud echoed like thunder. The bone spurs struck Kai's lightning-clad armor. Remembering the bone-spur field, everyone gasped.

"Good spirit, speed, and attack, but did you even eat? This is just tickling me," Kai said with a gentle smile—a smile that felt like a death sentence.

The scene mirrored Kazuki's earlier defeat.
