"You're Yugito Nii, the jinchuriki of the Two-Tails from Kumogakure, aren't you?" Kai asked, his brow furrowed in thought.

The girl was startled, then wary. "You know my identity? Are you an assassin sent by someone?"

"An assassin? If I were an assassin, I would have killed you, not just paralyzed you," Kai said, rolling his eyes. He finally understood the palpable tension within Akatsuki.

The mission to escort Yugito Nii had attracted unwanted attention.

Yugito paused, then visibly relaxed. "You're right. But you should leave quickly. There's a fight going on; the situation is precarious."

"A fight?"

Kai raised an eyebrow. The tailed beast's chakra and the barriers had blocked their perception of the outside world.

Yugito's warning made them realize a large-scale fight was underway at the Akatsuki base. Various jutsu were being used, some powerful, some not, but it was quite the spectacle.

"Those guys don't know I slipped away. They'll be surprised to find out they're chasing after just a shadow clone," Yugito said with a sly grin.

Kai sighed, rubbing her head. "Tell me what happened."

Feeling the numbness in her body recede, Yugito stared at Kai, a hint of shock in her eyes.

"Your control of Lightning Release surpasses even the elders back home."

With that, Yugito launched into a detailed explanation.

Akatsuki's mission was to escort her back to Kumogakure from the giant stone turtle island where she had been raised as a jinchuriki vessel.

This information had somehow been leaked, resulting in numerous assassination attempts along the way, some even originating from within Kumogakure's own powerful clans.

Yugito was, in essence, a jinchuriki kept on the island to ensure a continuous supply of jinchuriki for Kumogakure.

"It's similar to Konoha and the Uzumaki clan," Kai said, rubbing his nose. He wasn't particularly sympathetic; it was a case of mutual agreement.

However, he planned to use Akatsuki to lure Danzo out, so Nagato and the others couldn't be harmed.

"Let's go see what's happening. This mess is because of you, so don't just leave," Kai said, releasing the Sanbi form and lightly tapping Yugito's forehead.

"You don't ask before tapping people's foreheads. That hurts," Yugito complained, though her face showed no real anger.

Raised as a jinchuriki vessel on a remote island, she was like a blank slate, incredibly curious about the outside world, especially human emotions.

"Asking now is the same as asking later," Kai said, rolling his eyes. He already had one naive hero from Sunagakure; now he had another.

The character template was too simple, almost like a cookie-cutter mold. Was the author lazy, or did they just love naive characters?

Meanwhile, thirty kilometers from the Akatsuki base, seven figures moved swiftly through the forest, their speed leaving only blurs.

Three guarded the perimeter, while four carried a small palanquin-like box.

"Haha, you've been running for a while. You think you can escape us? Hand over the jinchuriki, and we'll make it quick," a mocking voice suddenly cut through the air.

The seven figures' faces instantly changed.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!

A flurry of shuriken and kunai rained down from all directions.

"Stop! Defend!" Yahiko shouted, rapidly forming hand seals.

"Earth Release: Earth Wall Technique!"

Boom! The ground trembled. Nagato and Konan, along with Kumayama, simultaneously created earth walls, encircling the palanquin.

The incoming shuriken and kunai bombarded the walls. Yahiko's face, however, paled.

"Those are explosive tags! Run!"

Boom! Explosions erupted, shattering the night's silence.

After several seconds, the ravaged forest slowly returned to calm. A giant wall of water had shielded them.

"Nagato, thank you," Yahiko said, relieved, but his face was grim as he surveyed the scene.

He'd estimated the number of hidden attackers from the initial kunai barrage, but the sheer scale of the ambush was shocking.

"Yahiko, our plan must have been leaked. Otherwise, they wouldn't have gathered so many ninjas here," Kumayama said, his voice strained.

They were seven against at least fifty-six, and not ordinary ninjas; they were Kumogakure's infamous fighting clans, known for their ruthlessness and feared even within Kumogakure.

They had clashed before, but never in such overwhelming numbers. This mission was crucial to Akatsuki's fate.
