Chapter 184 - MSOC: Chapter 184

"Boss, where are we going?" The Three-Tails emerged from Kai's backpack, lifting the cloak and peering out cautiously.

Kai had recently dispatched his team to locate the tailed beasts. He'd chosen Amegakure as their temporary base.

Given Danzo and Orochimaru's cunning, they would undoubtedly attempt to escape Konoha.

To obtain the First Hokage's cells and activate the Rinnegan, Amegakure was their best bet. Danzo and Hanzo had collaborated in the past.

With Danzo now a fugitive, the other four villages wouldn't accept him. Only Hanzo, the self-proclaimed demigod, might be confident enough to control Danzo and bring him into Amegakure.

Orochimaru, being like-minded with Danzo, would undoubtedly maintain contact.

"There's a teahouse ahead, Boss. Can we get some dumplings? They won't be as good as yours, but I'm craving them," the Three-Tails said, its pleading tone surprising Kai.

Since the Four-Tails' surrender, the Three-Tails had become increasingly shameless.

"Hey, turtle, can't you be quiet? You're disturbing my sleep," the Four-Tails poked its head out.

"Pfft, monkey, you'll be craving dumplings too. Or is your sleep more important?"

The Four-Tails looked around, its eyes lighting up. It started whining, "Boss, look how skinny I am! Let's go there for a bit."

Seeing the two tailed beasts' shameless behavior, Kai's face twitched before he reluctantly headed towards the teahouse.

"Move aside! Don't block the way!" As Kai approached the teahouse, he saw seven or eight ninjas already inside, carrying large packs. He recognized a familiar face.

"Pakura-sama, we've checked the route; nothing unusual," the lead ninja, cloaked in black, reported respectfully.

Pakura nodded, took a sip of tea, and looked at Kai.

"You're a traveler, aren't you? This place will become dangerous soon. You should leave."

Unlike the others, Pakura wasn't concealing her face. Compared to her appearance during the Fourth Great Ninja War, she looked even more refined and beautiful.

Her green and orange hair, alabaster skin, and graceful figure made her a standout beauty. In Sunagakure, she was far from just a pretty face; her strength was second only to Rasa's, making her a Sunagakure hero.

She'd distinguished herself during the Third Great Ninja War, repeatedly clashing with Kirigakure.

If Rasa hadn't possessed the Magnet Release, which proved invaluable in subduing Shukaku, Pakura, with her Lava Release, might have become the Kazekage.

"You mean it'll get lively?" Kai lowered his hood, surveying the surroundings.

"But I doubt they'll let me leave now."

His cryptic words surprised Pakura and her team. The next moment, shuriken rained down from all directions, glinting menacingly in the dappled sunlight.

The teahouse was enveloped in a deadly atmosphere. The shopkeeper had vanished.

"Ambush!" Pakura's face paled. She hadn't expected an ambush on their mission to Kirigakure. The seemingly ordinary teahouse was clearly a setup.

As she stood, weakness washed over her, followed by dizziness.

"Poison in the tea!" Pakura realized, quickly taking an antidote while forming hand seals.

"Everyone, break out! Fight individually!"

"Scorch Release: Extremely Steaming Murder!"

A blast of superheated steam erupted from Pakura, deflecting most of the shuriken and allowing her subordinates to escape.

"Boss, be careful!" The Three-Tails warned, but Kai shook his head.

"Let's watch. Let's see what unfolds." Kai casually produced two kunai and deflected the incoming shuriken.

He deliberately avoided displaying his full strength or activating his Mangekyo Sharingan. Deflecting these shuriken was trivial, especially since most were targeting Pakura.

"Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique!"

A roar echoed, and a massive water dragon materialized from the air's moisture. The humid climate near the river and Amegakure amplified the water jutsu's power.

"Wind Release: Great Sickle Weasel Technique!" Pakura's face hardened. She produced a large folding fan and unleashed a powerful gust of wind, slicing through the water dragon.

Boom!

The water dragon was cut in half, the resulting torrent crashing down on the teahouse.

As the assassins emerged, Pakura, noticing Kai, threw kunai and dashed towards him, grabbing his hand and pulling him away. She formed a hand seal.

"Explode!"

The explosive tags on the kunai detonated, engulfing the already damaged teahouse in a fiery blast.
