A heavy silence descended upon the assembly hall. The sudden turn of events had shattered everyone's expectations.
The display of skill, the intricate interplay of offense and defense, was far beyond simple shuriken and kunai throws.
While Danzo's intervention lowered the overall quality, the multiple factions' involvement added unexpected twists.
"Danzo, you dare ruin my plans!" Uchiha Elder roared, his face contorted with fury. He'd poured his heart and soul, using his ultimate techniques, to achieve this.
To be robbed of victory at the last moment was infuriating.
"Heh, Elder, thank you. I'll take this," Danzo chuckled, a mocking glint in his eyes. "Tenzo, move!"
Hidden in the shadows, Tenzo channeled his chakra, attempting to secretly retrieve the sealed Kai from underground. But his attempt was cut short.
Psh!
Blood spurted, a gruesome sight. From within the mummy-like seal, a lightning-wreathed hand shot out, piercing Danzo's chest.
Crimson blood splattered against the flashing lightning, shocking everyone.
Kai emerged from the seal, unscathed. Everyone gasped. The combined efforts of dozens of shinobi, the three-tomoe Mangekyō Sharingan, and the Seven-Colored Phantom Dragon had been completely ineffective, costing Danzo his life.
"Sorry to disappoint you. I just wanted to see your skills. Your trump card was just genjutsu," Kai said warmly, slowly withdrawing his blood-stained hand from Danzo's chest, wiping it on Danzo's clothes. "Don't worry, that old geezer won't die."
He dusted himself off, turning to Uchiha Elder. "Now it's my turn!"
His words hung in the air like a death sentence.
"Kai, stop! We just wanted you as Hokage. Remember the hostages!" Uchiha Elder pleaded, desperate.
Their ultimate technique hadn't worked; their chakra reserves were depleted.
But when he turned, the hostages were gone. Their overconfidence had blinded them to Fugaku's presence and his capabilities.
The man who'd used the Mangekyō Sharingan to intimidate Itachi in the original story wasn't someone to underestimate.
"Retreat! Everyone, retreat!" Uchiha Elder roared, snapping back to reality.
"Too late, my dear elder," Kai said, his smile chilling.
His eyes widened, his nine-tomoe Mangekyō Sharingan spinning.
Amaterasu!
Black flames erupted around Uchiha Elder without warning.
"Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet!" Uchiha Ryū formed hand seals, summoning a water dragon towards Elder.
Boom!
Water splashed. While the Water Dragon Bullet's power was suppressed to save Elder, the flames continued to burn, causing everyone to pale.
"That's the inextinguishable black flame," someone whispered.
"The Blood Asura supposedly masters three dōjutsu: the inextinguishable Amaterasu, dream-like genjutsu, and the impenetrable Susano'o.
Any one of them is enough to dominate the shinobi world!"
The crowd erupted. Some were shocked, others awestruck, while some younger ninjas showed reverence and admiration.
Everyone harbored a hero's dream. Kai's decisive actions were captivating.
"Kai, enough!" Fugaku's voice cut through the commotion. He reappeared with Itachi and Mikoto. "They are Uchiha elders. Their intentions weren't wrong, just their methods. You've done enough."
Kai shook his head. "Uncle, you're still the same. Do you know this could destroy the Uchiha clan?
Indecisiveness leads to chaos! But considering you raised me, consider this repayment."
The nine-tomoe Sharingan spun, extinguishing Amaterasu. Uchiha Elder was badly burned.
"Elder!" Shisui rushed to his side. But as he activated his Sharingan, he saw Elder, charred yet alive, reaching for Shisui's eye. Shisui, despite his Shunshin, was caught off guard.
"You know the Uchiha clan's forbidden technique," a playful voice echoed.
Uchiha Elder's face contorted. A lightning-wreathed figure descended from above.
"Lightning Release: Righteous Axe, Sinking Thunder!"
Boom!
A thunderous kick connected with Hi, sending him flying. Shisui was pulled away by Fugaku. The kick landed squarely on Hi's chest.
Boom!
Blood splattered as Elder was crushed. The ground crumbled, spreading cracks like a spiderweb. The area collapsed, sinking several meters.
When the dust settled, everyone was shocked. Uchiha Elder, supposedly crushed, stood fifteen meters away, his eyes closed, blood streaming from his eyes, staining his chest.
The supposedly dead Uchiha Elder stood before them. A chilling scene, bringing to mind Kai's mention of the Uchiha's forbidden techniques.
