"Haha, Yamanaka Fū, you're still the same," Orochimaru chuckled softly. "You don't trust me, but you should trust Danzō."
"Since he entrusted this to me, it proves my strength surpasses his."
"Moreover, don't forget, this technique was developed by the Second Hokage. After my improvements, its power is not something a mere Uchiha Kai can withstand."
A ferocious look flashed across Orochimaru's face. He grabbed his cheek, widening his eyes. "His Mangekyō Sharingan is destined to be mine."
His ferocious words echoed through the forest.
A tearing sound suddenly rang out, making Yamanaka Fū tense up.
"Relax. It seems Torune's death hit you hard. You even overlooked the most important sensory perception," Orochimaru chuckled cruelly. "That's my man. Looks like the prey has taken the bait. Just as I expected, they deliberately let him return."
"Lord Orochimaru, all our men are dead," a blood-stained Anbu, wearing a mask, rushed out of the forest.
But as he appeared before Orochimaru, something made his pupils contract.
A crimson tongue, like a viper about to strike, pierced his throat without warning.
Pshh!
Blood spurted, and the Anbu ninja fell to the ground, his expression frozen in shock.
"Haha, since your mission is complete, you're no longer useful," Orochimaru chuckled softly, looking towards the nearby forest. "Kid, since you're here, how long do you intend to hide?"
His quiet voice echoed, making everyone tense.
Yamanaka Fū quickly formed hand seals, unleashing his sensory perception.
Swish!
A tearing sound rang out.
A small figure burst from the forest to the left.
Yamanaka Fū raised an eyebrow at the approaching figure.
Too fast!
That was his only thought. This was unlike any Kai he'd encountered.
"Hidden Shadow Multiple Snake Hands!" Mitarashi Anko appeared seven or eight meters from Orochimaru.
Dozens, perhaps hundreds, of venomous snakes erupted from her right hand, hissing towards Orochimaru.
The sudden attack made Orochimaru's expression change, but he snorted coldly. "Anko, I didn't expect you to chase me here. It seems the teacher underestimated you."
"Our last meeting was when the teacher left. You refused to leave with me. I said I would kill you when we next met. There's no teacher-student sentiment left."
Orochimaru vanished amidst the swarm of snakes.
He reappeared behind Mitarashi Anko.
His body transformed into a snake, quickly wrapping around her. His gaping maw aimed for her neck.
Too fast!
That was Mitarashi Anko's only thought.
She had planned to ambush Orochimaru with the Hidden Shadow Multiple Snake Hands.
But she was too impulsive, completely forgetting the difference in their strength.
Facing the oncoming snakes, Mitarashi Anko only had one thought:
How long has it been since you brushed your teeth?!
"Anko, die!" Orochimaru laughed cruelly.
But as soon as he spoke, a figure, enveloped in lightning, burst from the ground.
"Such a heartless teacher. This is a first," Kai said with a playful smile.
"But she's not as good at ambushing as I am."
Rasengan!
Kai's right hand pulsed with chakra. Without any fancy moves, he slammed it into Orochimaru's chest.
Boom!
The intensely compressed chakra exploded like a volcano.
The immense impact surged out like a tidal wave, knocking Orochimaru away.
Before everyone's eyes, he was flung like a sandbag, crashing into a large tree dozens of meters away.
Bang!
The tree, thick enough for an adult to hug, snapped.
"Lord Orochimaru!" Yamanaka Fū's face changed.
But without thinking, he quickly retreated.
While he wanted revenge for Aburame Torune, seeing that Uchiha Kai had evaded his sensory perception and launched such a deadly attack on Orochimaru, any fighting spirit vanished instantly.
"Haha, don't be surprised. He's not dead yet," Kai chuckled dryly. "Snakes shed their skin. I've been waiting for you and Danzō to team up and come to me."
"It seems you've lost your patience. You must have put in a lot of effort to deal with me."
"Let me guess. Did you get the Edo Tensei, and successfully refine it?"
His quiet voice echoed, like a hypnotic spell.
Orochimaru, sprawled on the ground, his chest caved in, began to writhe horribly.
Moments later, he stood up, his human skin mask revealing a ferocious face.
"Good kid. I thought Danzō overestimated you, but it seems I underestimated you," Orochimaru said, his crimson tongue flicking out. "Since you know I've obtained the Edo Tensei, the forbidden jutsu developed by the Second Hokage, why did you still chase after me?"
"What gives you the courage?"
What?
Kai smiled playfully. "If I said it was these fists, would you laugh?"
Watching Kai and Orochimaru exchange words, Mitarashi Anko suddenly realized she'd become irrelevant.
Remembering their conversation at the gate, she became anxious.
"You... who are you?"
Orochimaru was stunned, then laughed cruelly. "Anko, you don't even know his identity, yet you're with him? You're still as naive and foolish as when you left me."
"Uchiha Kai, the most outstanding, monstrous genius of the Uchiha clan, hidden for fifteen years."
"The possessor of the shocking Blood-Red Asura title, the murderer who dared to fight in the Hokage Building and kill his colleagues. I think you'll soon become a missing-nin, like me."
Orochimaru laughed cruelly, extending a hand. "Actually, we're kindred spirits. Why don't you join me? With Edo Tensei and your powerful dojutsu, Konoha will fall into our hands."
His lengthy speech stunned Mitarashi Anko.
She never imagined that the young man she had scorned possessed such an identity.
"What's wrong?" Kai smiled playfully. "I've already said I have a fearsome reputation."
"But I wouldn't believe a fool like you."
"Orochimaru, if you want these eyes, use your fists. Your sneaky tactics are no match for mine."
Orochimaru's expression changed dramatically.
"You discovered it?"
"Of course. Under my feet, such a commotion, and those three black-robed figures standing like statues, even after you were sent flying... did you think I was an idiot?"
