Chapter 56: Christmas Presents~
Recalling the presents that he had given to the teachers, they were all under one Galleon each.
As many of them were made by his own hands… there was no expense to them.
For example, Professor McGonagall, he had put a Transfiguration Charm on a piece of wood to transform into a tabby cat. At the same time, he had also added the design of a beckoning cat so that the tabby cat's paw waved up and down continuously.
"I hope the professors won't despise the gifts I gave them."
Although they were not expensive, they were all done with his heart.
Then Dylan placed all the things Professor McGonagall had given him into the system panel.
He looked at the next gift.
Professor Flitwick had given him a dueling experience notebook.
It was also very valuable, essentially a professor's personal notes. The professor's experience in it was worth more than ten thousand Galleons.
"Put it away, put it away."
Then Dylan looked at the gift Professor Snape had given.
After opening the box, Dylan drew out a bottle.
"This is…"
Dylan gently shook the potion bottle, noting the tiny magical particles sparkling in the amber liquid.
"Vigor Elixir?"
Dylan was slightly surprised.
This was a high-level potion that had the effect of quickly restoring magic power and stamina, very precious. In a very short time, it could make a exhausted wizard quickly restore their state.
This potion would have amazing and miraculous effects on many occasions.
Also, the making of this potion was very difficult too.
Because one of the ingredients needed for the potion was now very strictly controlled.
That was dragon heartstring…
Although a very small amount of dragon heartstring was needed, as a powerful magical material, it wasn't easy to obtain now.
Dylan pursed his lips and smiled softly.
"It seems Professor Snape doesn't quite think of me as a silly little lion who occasionally irritates him~"
Despite not being his favorite pupil, he was definitely one of the greatest!
Dylan felt touched, but inwardly nervous.
"I just presented Professor Snape with a potion I made myself. He won't accept it for certain, will he?"
Sigh!
He really had no idea how to give gifts, so he could only do it as a symbolic gesture.
He could not very well give the other person an Avada Kedavra, could he?
"When I am wealthy, I will definitely give the professors a big gift!"
As for how much money that would be…
Dylan opened the next gift.
"Candy, chocolate… isn't this the butterscotch chocolate I summoned? Heh, it was actually Ron who sent it."
Dylan smiled despairingly.
"Magical chess, a bewitched football…"
The football was a gift from Seamus and his friend Dean.
It was told that when Seamus was practicing a spell he just learned, nine footballs straight exploded eight of them.
This one was the sole survivor of Seamus's magical annihilation.
Seamus named it "Lucky Football," hoping this football would bring Dylan good luck.
Dylan liked it so much. Although it was a useless football that he might never use, it was a considerate deed, as were the gifts he had purchased.
Faced with these gifts, he felt less embarrassed.
"Oh, there's even the latest set of magical quills… this is not cheap."
Dylan glanced at it. It was from Harry.
He put all the presents away.
Dylan felt a little touched.
He glanced behind him at Harry and Ron, who were still fast asleep.
He smiled and pursed his lips, then got out of bed.
"I hope they will not dislike the presents that I gave them."
Dylan left the dormitory immediately.
After dinner, he visited the Owlery again to check if there was a letter from Luna.
There was no letter from his parents.
"Hmph, not that I was really expecting one, anyway!"
He headed to the Gryffindor common room rather than the library.
Dylan got lots of snacks, sat down in the plush sofa, and began reading the journal that Professor McGonagall had lent him.
"Huh, this person's understanding of Transfiguration is quite profound."
Dylan soon found himself absorbed.
Until a shriek came from the side of his ear.
"Good morning, Merry Christmas!"
"Dylan, you're awake so early!"
He looked around and spotted Ron and Harry.
Harry's face was filled with evident joy. It was his first Christmas with friends.
He slid onto the sofa next to Dylan, sinking his whole body into it, before releasing a relaxing sigh.
Ron also stopped by, winking at Dylan, "I saw the presents on your bed vanish. How was it? Did you eat the chocolate I gave you?"
Dylan glanced at him, "Butterscotch chocolate? Didn't eat it."
Ron's expectant face fell at once, "Oh! Why? You didn't think it was really the butterscotch chocolate you gave me, did you?"
Harry, attempting to suppress a laugh, inserted, "I told you, don't disguise it as Dylan's chocolate wrapper."
Ron then obliged, "Actually, that wasn't even your chocolate to begin with! Dylan, you have a go now!"
Drinking in Ron's rolled eyes, his mouth fighting but losing the war to avoid smiling, Dylan's eyebrow rose and he accused suspiciously, "You guys didn't turn that chocolate into some kind of prank special edition, did you?"
Ron's upward curling mouth froze at once, then artificially fell, his lips pursed, "How can we? It's just a regular box of chocolates."
Harry next to him blinked and added for Ron, "Yeah, he gave me a box too. I've already had some, and it's delicious!"
Dylan's eyes narrowed, his eyes darting back and forth between the two guilty-looking guys.
Then, he suddenly flashed a warm smile again and drew out a handful of sweets from his pocket.
"I'll eat it later. Your brothers got me these milk candies. I like them. Want to have some?"
Ron's eyes instantly flew open in warning.
But Harry did not notice Ron's face. Instead, he moved forward and accepted a candy from Dylan's hand.
He opened it and flicked it into his mouth.
Ron did not even have the time to stop him.
He saw the casual smile on Harry's face freeze like Ron's.
"Wow!"
Harry's mouth opened, and a multicolored ribbon uncontrollably burst out of his mouth.
"Ugh ugh!"
Harry attempted to say something, his hands involuntarily flying up to stop this spectacle.
However, the ribbon kept coming, scaring Harry into hysterics.
"Wh. what's happening?"
Harry spoke nonsensically, the ribbon now covering a sofa, but it had not stopped.
Suddenly, another excited voice cut in.
"Hahahaha! I didn't expect Dylan to not eat my candy, but Harry tasted it first!"
Two people leaped over.
"Dylan is still so clever!"
