As I sighed slowly, proccesed what Nail just said, I felt how the ground started to shake the ground inside the small cave, almost like a small scale rumbling. I felt my chest slightly soure, as for what I knew that ''thing'' could have been venomous, but at the same time it was as if I didn't feel any pain on my chest. It was a strange mix of feelings, at the same time it was as if my body moved by it's own will, I should feel scared or worried about this situation but it was as if I had zero thoughts in my head.
"If you're gonna try and fight them, I'd recommend you to go back you'll need more space"
I looked where Nail's voice came from, I followed his advice and left the ''hallway'' going back to the intersection, there I took a seat, still feeling tired. I sat in one of the corners of the ''room'' drinking from the water bottle
"How much time do I got untill they are here?"
I asked to the void, expecting an answer
"They are not that fast, so I'd say you have around five to ten minutes"
the voice of Nail resounded almost as a whisper, a voice that only I could hear, now I had some choices to act, maybe could I make some kind of trap to lower their number? but with what materials? I barely had stuff to keep myself alive. Maybe I could hive just below the entrance of the cave? To enter the cave theres a light small step, so I could hide below and stab the one who enters? I mean, I could but the other one would probabbly attack me.
Bringing out another bottle of water I spilled it over my head to cool myself down, my eyes darted around and looked at the other hallway that I absolutely have ignored. Maybe I could use it on my advantage. I stood up and walked towards the entrance, entering in without much a thought behind my actions.
Inside the cave was pure darkness, even though I didn't advance more than a few meters, it was already much darker than any other place inside the cave that I've been, I had an idea of what it could be, but I had to make sure that my guess is correct.
I kept walking every few meters the path became darker and darker, reaching the point that I couldn't see my limbs without a flashlight, and finallyI reached a point where the flashlight didn't work at all, I could press the onn button as many times as I wished but no light came fom the flashlight. This was a way to detecte the ''darkness'' the corrosive kind that can make living beings and reflected creatures into thoughtless monsters. Now with this achievement and started planning my next moves.
Back in the intersection, I left my hoodie in the corner nearby to the entrance where I found the darkness, I got back inside that same path and knelt down, I spilled some of my left over water that I had in my bottle to clean the blood of those torneds I killed from my knife. I barely had a minute assuming that Nail's prediction was absolutely accurate. After waiting a few more minutes I finally was able to see ''them.'' One was a meter twenty seemingly ant, of a greyish red color, tho it's legs were thin, it moved extremly slow, while second torned was a seemingly oversized beetle of green color, both of them having traces of "darkness" leaking out of they're mouth and different oriffices around their body.
I stared at them as I hid, I could see how they slowly moved towards the torned hoodie, both of them moved extremly slowly, if I wished so, I could have jumped and cut them, but I wasn't sure if I should risk it once both were next to the hoodie, with their body fully turned around of the side I was hidden, I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, again I felt that numb sensation as if i didnt have nothing in my mind.
With a light move, I jumped towards the beetle and quickly stabbed the knife in between it's two eyes, it's green blood started splashing almost as a fountain, the ant almost instantly moved its head towards the already screeching insect. Though it was not completely dead, torneds couldn't really move without their brain. With this I took the knife out of it's forehead jumping off it's back and making some distance from the ant which was screeching as if it felt sorrow out of it's fellow torned.
The ''ant'' tried a full on assault, tho with it's speed it wasn't really efficient, I avoided it quickly and with a jump, I found myself on top of the torned, it tried to pull me off with a pair of its legs, before it could even touch me, I sliced off one of the ant's leg, making it screech even louder than before, I was feeling extremly exhausted, and as I took one deep breath I started stabbing the ant's torax uncountable times, it tried stopping me, but every time it's legs came towards me, I just stabbed the knife again and again and again...
I felt as if I lost conciousness of my own body for a few seconds, when I was ''back'' I found myself covered in the green blood of the ant, already dead, but with my hands still in the knife, which it was still incrustated on it's body
"Nail?" I asked to the nothingness"
"Oh, you're finally back" He answered, with that same monotomus voice tone.
"You've been stabbing the ant for 5 minutes, I've tried to ''wake you up'' but you judt kept stinging it with the knife.
I was absolutely surprised, this has never happened to me, so I wasn't really sure on how to react, but before I could notice, I was on the ground, slowly falling asleep
