He laughed like a true maniac. The scene now shifts to Leo watching them, seeing their domains. Leo said, "Your domain isn't that bad, but let me show you what a true domain looks like." Leo breathed in, closed his eyes, then breathed out. Instantly, Yang energy soared over the arena, replicating the original Yang symbol—it covered the whole academy. Leo now activated his other elements, each stacking on each other, starting from earth, then lightning, and finally a dark-energy domain in the form of swirling dark clouds. Leo's eyes turned white as he said, "Now, do you want to continue?"
Zara and the rest were scared by his power (note: this is not a murim novel—"domain" felt more natural, and I couldn't come up with another term; if you know a better one, comment below). They all surrendered.
The Headmaster, now smirking, said, "Who else has a bone that needs fixing?"
Vultra raised his hand. The Headmaster sighed in disappointment—he hadn't dissuaded him. "Fine," he said, "but this better be brief."
Vultra smirked and jumped into the arena, immediately unleashing his domain and dark elements (since it's new, I'll list them): black flames, dark water, blood earth, purple winds, and purple lightning. Vultra said to Leo, "I've been itching for a fight for a while now. Why don't we go all out and truly display what we're made of?"
Increasing his Ying energy, he materialized his scythe wreathed in Ying aura. Leo materialized his real twin blades, covered in Yang energy. They waited for a moment until lightning struck both domains. They instantly zoomed toward each other, leaving trails of light. Leo and Vultra clashed, releasing waves of energy that terrified the academy. They both retreated, then charged again and clashed before lowering their weapons and charging bare-handed.
Immediately, they clashed: Vultra twisted and landed an overhead kick; Leo blocked it with his arm. Vultra persisted, forcing Leo from the air to the bare ground. He still persisted as the ground beneath them formed a crater and rocks levitated. Leo, now furious, used his free hand to punch Vultra's ribs. Vultra countered with his free leg, striking Leo back. Leo then twisted into a front drop-kick position, adjusted his body, and delivered a Pele kick to Vultra, who didn't see it coming—he flew away.
Vultra regained his balance. Leo and Vultra charged again—this time infusing Ying and Yang into their fists before they clashed.
The Headmaster stopped them both by catching their fists, instantly nullifying both domains. Leo and Vultra were shocked beyond doubt. The Headmaster said, "You two useless, annoying bugs—you destroyed my arena. The repair costs are off the charts. If you aren't careful, I will slap you both with the bill." He dragged them by their ears out of the arena. The whole academy was reminded why they feared the Headmaster. The academy was silent as he dragged them to the podium. After two minutes, they reached it.
The Headmaster said, "Since Vultra actually gave Leo a run for his money, and if not for me stepping in, you'd both be injured or dead—so thank me. Now, back to the awards: because Vultra proved himself, you both will be given the award. Do you bugs know what the award signifies? Firstly, you'll be in the elite class, and since this is a boarding school, your housing will be more luxurious than any other noble in the kingdom. Any bugs got a problem? Meet me in my office, and we'll discuss it properly."
He cracked his knuckles; nobody spoke or coughed, so he continued, "Until you finish your time in the Academy, you won't pay a dime for meals or housing." The bugs were all jealous but silent.
The Headmaster said, "I know the time is past schedule, so I will end this assembly. Go to your respective dorms."
"Manager Luo, take these two prodigies to their legendary dorms, please."
Luo led Leo and Vultra away. The Headmaster watched them disappear and muttered, "Their powers are terrifying. I barely stopped them. At this rate, in four years I won't hold a candle next to them—heck, they could give the Five Great Heroes a run for their money. Please, Lord, help them; we don't want to be on their bad side."
The scene now shifts to Leo and Vultra entering their dorms. They saw the amazing home and were both happy. Vultra and Leo discussed briefly before Vultra fell asleep. Leo, now alone, thought, "I guess it's time to use the God of Technology's blessing—even though it weakens my core strength. Now time to create my first gadget. Thank God I still have the memory log, so I think I know what to make—but I need a disguise."
He walked to the closet, picked a cloak and a hat, then took a handkerchief and fashioned it into a facemask. He wore it, then took a good look at Vultra before jumping out the window. He climbed to the roof, surveyed the scenery, then pulled out a paper with the list of required goods. "So it's time."
He zoomed off, running so fast he broke the sound barrier twenty times and counting. He reached a barren landscape, materialized a shovel, and dug super-fast. He collected special magic-grade diamonds, arranged them in his cargo, then refilled the hole precisely.
Next, Leo dashed to a volcanic terrain. Using his Overlord ability, he made himself immune to lava for an hour, his body wreathed in dark aura. He sank into the lava, diving deep until he reached a cave. Inside, he saw a flower that blooms once every ten years. He plucked it—it was on his list—and stored it in a special lacquer container. He then collapsed the cave behind him and swam back to the surface.
He zoomed to the ocean, dove to its deepest part, slew a special beast, took its head, and harvested rare ocean goods. Then he flew into the skies at insane speed to a magic-eagle territory, killed one, took its loot, and gathered rare aerial components.
Leo zoomed back to his dormitory before the clock struck 3:00 AM. He combined his spoils, and using Demos' blessing, created a new chip for both himself and Vultra. It took two hours to be ready, so he slept—encasing the chip in special housing.
At 8:00 AM, Vultra woke Leo. "Get ready for school—we're late."
Leo groaned, "I'll skip today; I'm tired."
Vultra roasted him, "You're a broke-ass boy with no hoes, no work, not married—what have you done?"
Leo shrugged. "Are you not aware? I created something for both of us. Now that reminds me—I think it's ready, Vultra. Let's use it."
Vultra, totally confused, asked how. Leo said, "The thing is… we time-skipped till after." Leo explained everything. Vultra said, "Why don't we test it?"
Leo opened the casing: the chips were arranged in Yin-and-Yang colors. They affixed them at their necks; quadrillions of nanodes flooded their bodies. Power surged through them, granting the ability to create anything from nothing. After minutes, the chips were fully implanted and working.
Leo and Vultra felt the new power coursing through them. They left for class; the academy was about to get a whole lot more interesting—and an old comrade would soon become their greatest enemy. Will they have the power to defeat them? Find out next!
