Chapter 19 – So This Is My Power
Cordelia:
— What a strong light... — she says as she gets up, looking around.
She sees Adrian lying down, glowing intensely.
— Morning already... he must be close to waking up. Just a little longer — she says, watching him sleep.
As she stands to prepare food, Cordelia hears a noise.
She looks out the window and sees several knight monsters approaching the place.
— Damn... the noise from yesterday's battle must have drawn them here.
Right now, when Adrian is still awakening his inheritance!
If he's interrupted now, he could lose the chance to awaken... and that was our only power stone!
She takes a deep breath.
— How many monsters out there...? Around thirty... damn it.
My energy still hasn't fully recovered.
The only way is to stall them until Adrian completes his awakening and comes help me...
— All right then! Divine Possession... AIR!
Take this, you stupid monsters!
Kick of the Divine Lamb!
She jumps, unleashing a kick full of divine energy that explodes and destroys ten monsters.
— Damn... I could've taken out half if my energy were back...
— Adrian, wake up soon... I need your help here...
Adrian (drowsy):
— What was that dream...? I think it was my father's divine spirit's past...
So much energy... — he says, closing his hand, feeling a power he's never had before.
— With this power, I'm getting closer to my inheritance...

BOOMMM!
Adrian:
— What was that?!
He runs to the window and sees Cordelia fighting several monsters.
— They must've come because of last night's battle noise...
But why hasn't Cordelia finished them yet...? — he thinks, looking more closely.
He notices she's breathing heavily.
— Damn... she hasn't recovered from the previous battle...
Adrian runs out to help her.
Cordelia (breathless):
— My energy's almost gone...
If Adrian doesn't show up soon, I'll be in trouble...
BOOMMMM!
Adrian:
— Sorry I'm late, Cordelia!
Cordelia (surprised):
— Adrian... you did it!
Adrian:
— Yeah. Now you can rest. I'll take care of them.
Cordelia (smiling):
— Then I'll count on you.
Adrian:
— Now it's just between us, monsters...
Take this! Sonic Punch!
He strikes the monsters, destroying them from within and making them explode.
— That's five down... ten left...
Take this! Sonic Kick! BOOM!
And to finish...
He jumps into the air, aims at the ground:
— Sonic Quake!
He slams the ground hard, opening a crater that swallows the remaining monsters.
— It's over... — Adrian says, standing up.
Cordelia:
— Adrian... can I ask you a question?
Adrian:
— Sure.
Cordelia:
— What's the name of the divine spirit that gave you that power?
Adrian:
— His name... is Samson.
