What Came after
Hazel rolled her eyes at all the stunned faces around her. "En Dimension has done itself a disservice by cutting itself off from the other dimensions. The Fatetress controls the realms and this can lead to the possible dominance of the dimensions as well.
"Most Fate Masters never got powerful enough to have any dominion over the dimensions but several have had power over all of the realms. I have already gained control of all of the realms due to my far reaching power over the dreamscape."
As she spoke more gems fell to both her and Harry as if the Leprechauns wanted to please her by pleasing her brother as well, or maybe they did not want her to feel as if she needed to share.
The game started and there was silence in the stands, until of course someone scored.
Draco could not help but continually glance over at Hazel. His father leaned over to him to whisper.
"I must admit that you do have a good eye. I doubt that you will ever be able to win her but she is very intriguing and we need to acquire her for our lord."
Draco's eyes went wide. If she was for the dark lord he would never have her. He had to figure out how to keep her safe and remain safe himself as well.
"So you have so much power over the dreamscape it caused you to have vast power over the realms."
Hazel nodded at Hermione.
"I am so proficient with dream magics that when my third eye fully opened I had dominion over every realm. Dimensions touch dimensions but realms touch realms and once one finds a truth connecting the realms you understand all of these connections almost instantaneously.
"So to be honest the realms knew I had dominion over them before I knew it myself. It was when the fate master third eye awoke within me that I understood it too."
Hazel shrugged. As she did more gems rained down on both her and Harry. Everyone looked up and a group of Leprechauns and Veela smiled and bowed respectfully to Hazel.
"I feel they are overdoing it though. This is too much. You have given…"
But she was cut off by odd singing and a strange guttural, laughing, grunt. She nodded and smiled.
"Understood, but you have given sufficiently for now. If I need more or I need your help I will call you."
Smiles broadened as they all bowed again and vanished in their own unique ways. The Veela leaving in faint puffs of smoke and the Leprechauns leaving in small tornados of gold dust.
The camp was quiet the night after the world Quidditch match. They were staying the night there and then returning to the Weasley's home in the morning. Hazel was sleeping in her parent's tent with Evervine, Hermione, and Ginnie when she sat up straight in her bed.
Evervine frowned in her sleep and spoke with her eyes still closed. "What is wrong Hazel?"
"There are people here, Death Eaters, they are about to attack the camp."
With this she closed her eyes to speak to her parents and her brother and the others in the Weasley tent. Evervine, Hermione, and Ginnie were up and dressing. Ginnie was the most nervous of the three.
"Ginnie maybe you should wait here."
Ginnie frowned at Hermione. "While all of you risk your lives?"
"She is right. We can protect her better if she is with us." Hazel looked directly into her eyes. "After this you start training with us. You need to know the same counter curse spells we know." She looked to her other two friends. "And it is time we create better counters to the unforgivable curses."
There was a yell outside and everyone turned to look at the tent wall. "They are using unforgivable curses?"
Hazel nodded to Evervine's stunned question.
"What horrible people. Let's show them that this generation is not easily intimidated."
She was up and out of the room before anyone could respond. The other three looked to one another, Hermione and Hazel shrugged. Hazel pulled Ginnie to her.
"Stay close."
It was chaos outside with spell trails streaking in all directions. Two counter spells struck an unforgivable curse and it actually dissipated into nothing. George and Fred nodded in satisfaction and continued on.
Harry and Ron caught up to Hazel, Hermione, and Ginnie. Ron actually cast a counter curse spell that warped the curse so when it hit its target the witch only wailed in pain.
"Is everyone okay?"
Harry looked to Ginnie first but she was dumbstruck and couldn't answer.
"We're fine. How are all of you?"
"Marcel is with Evervine and Fred and George are with dad."
Ron had moved in a position where he could protect both Ginnie and Hermione. Hazel nodded and looked to Harry. He had a bit of blood on his forehead.
She cast some healing magic on him before she asked anything.
Suddenly she quickly turned and a spell shot from her wand. A large sparkling heart shape rose into the air and engulfed the area in front of them and another spell suddenly sparked and exploded within the heart. The heart shape held the magic and the entire thing disappeared before their eyes.
Hermione had a smile and her eyes were wide. "Is this one of the spells you've been working on."
"It is. Let's go. We are out in the open." They moved quickly and were suddenly surrounded by Hazel's parents, Mr. Weasley, and Fred and George.
They relaxed a bit as they were in a protective ring. Hazel saw Evervine and Marcel and she shook her head. They were fighting better than many of the adults. This was because their dimension emphasized combat training for all witches and wizards and both of them were quite proficient.
They had also gained experience going with Hazel to unknown dimensions to fulfill the requirements for some of her studies in traveler magic.
Hazel finally pinpointed two of the aggressors. They were wearing masks just as she had seen in her vision. These masks seemed to have different designs for each of these Death Eaters. They were both pale with odd slits cut out for the eyes and mouths but they were made of different materials and the overall aesthetics were different.
The female had on a more angular mask and the slit for the mouth was unobstructed. There was soft curling vine work etched over it and it seemed to be made of a soft pliable material and looked a lot like silk.
The male had on a fiercer mask that seemed to me made of silver. The slits for the eyes and mouth were much narrower and all three had odd rows of X's stitched over them.
They walked confidently toward the group and Hazel narrowed her eyes. Her, and her mother and father all cast spells at the exact same moment. Minerva targeted the man and Montague targeted the female. The spell Hazel cast seamlessly separated into two and targeted both.
Before these Death Eaters could react they were both thrown back and wrapped in magical bands of vibrant static light.
The other Death Eaters paused and looked to each other.
"Cowards!" Evervine's scream was like a battle cry and the campers responded with a fresh volley of spells aimed at the attackers. Hazel moved to collected the two trapped Death Eaters and a widely cast spell spread out before her barring her way. She waved her hand and the wall of magic began to melt away but it was too late the two Death Eaters were already gone.
"Interesting. I am surprised they protected each other."
"Perhaps those two were important."
"Indeed. But we all know that your young daughter is definitely important. We need a witch like her now." Mr. Weasley smiled as he looked at Hazel. Montague had a broad proud smile on his face.
"She is quite remarkable."
Hazel turned without acknowledging the men. "Marcel let's check and see if anyone needs medical attention."
"Yes. Of course."
They both walked into different directions into the camp. The group splitting into two and following one of them off.
As things calmed they began finding the bodies of the dead, each time they found one Hazel found herself a little more upset. They ended up with ten bodies that night and the camp essentially broke up and became more of a scene of crime investigation.
Dumbledore had arrived along with many members of the Ministry of Magic. Hazel watched from the side, her arms crossed over her chest, a frown on her face, and her lips pursed tightly. Evervine, Hermione, and Ginnie stood around her with similar looks.
Harry, Fred, George, Ron, Mr. Weasley and both McGonagall professors looked to one another nervously. Finally Minerva McGonagall straightened her back, cleared her throat, and squared her shoulders before walking toward the girls and speaking.
"You four did very well. Why all the frowning?"
Hazel's face softened and she sighed. "There are just too many dead and the cowards used masks and began an attack on sleeping people."
"And I missed a few hits out there."
Hermione looked at Evervine incredulously. She felt that Evervine had done better than some of the fully trained witches and wizards there. But she did not say anything about it and addressed the question at hand.
"I need to practice the counter curses more. Many of my spells were just too weak."
Ginnie lowered her gaze a bit. "I am upset that I have not practiced more."
"Don't worry about that. Hazel already said that you would be practicing with us more."
Evervine came to her with a wide smile and an arm to be placed around her shoulders. Hermione smiled as well.
"You are going to love our training area."
Minerva McGonagall cleared her throat and the three girls looked up at her with curious expressions. Hazel kept her eyes on the camp.
"And where exactly is this training area?"
"On the dreamscape. Come everyone. Let's see what they will be doing about guards."
Hazel walked passed her mother with a serious face but smiled at her father when he gave her a goofy face. The others fell in line behind the girls and Mr. Weasley moved to the McGonagalls with a bewildered look.
"You have a very impressive daughter indeed."
"Indeed we do."
Montague McGonagall's broad smile fell when he looked into his wife's stern face.
"You spoil her too much Monte. She is always putting herself in danger."
"It's okay Minerva." Montague put an arm around his wife. "We raised a strong girl. She is stronger than you and I put together."
"That's what scares me so. She has shown so many here in our dimension just how strong she is."
She looked at him with concern but he merely crushed her into him more as he looked off so she could not see the worry in his face.
Frank and Alice Longbottom were in the Hogwarts hospital. They were both sleeping peacefully and Augusta and Neville Longbottom were both standing before their beds watching them.
Neville looked to his grandmother. He knew she was sulking because he had essentially demanded that his parents go through this. His grandmother was not happy about it and she did not want to risk their lives.
Hazel came in with a huge smile.
"Are we ready?"
"And exactly what will you be doing young lady?!"
"Grandmother you already…"
"I want her to explain it to me Neville. I feel she has seduced you." Her hand was raised to silence her grandson and when she finished both Hazel and Neville had wide eyes.
Hazel calmed herself first and she spoke calmly to the woman.
"Madame Pompfry can describe it for you."
Augusta looked from Hazel to Madame Pompfry back to Hazel again. "I thought that this was your technique."
"It is. I created it with my potions professors and a fellow student but Madame Pompfry is a nurse and she understands what each step will do and she may be able to explain things to you to your satisfaction."
"You understand this procedure Madame Pompfry?" Mrs. Longbottom moved to stand in front of Hogwarts' school nurse.
Madame Pompfry nodded with confidence before she spoke. "Yes ma'am. Professor Dumbledore does as well and he and professor Snape will be here soon to observe."
Augusta Longbottom looked at the nurse for a long time and then walked over to Neville.
"Sit down Neville dear this may take some time. Procedures like this are delicate so keep quiet as well."
Neville sat down and mumbled a "Yes ma'am."
