As Himistu departed from Kana's residence, he made his way back to Zodiac. Meanwhile, the scene shifted to Gram and Ohma exiting the city.
Gram: (Hand on his face) Man, my face still hurts.
Ohma: It's okay, Gram. I'm sure Kono has something to help with that.
Gram: Yeah, maybe.
Ohma: Gram, may I ask you something?
Gram: Oh, here we go. Yeah, what's up?
Ohma: When I first met you, you said you wanted to be a healer or help people.
Gram: Yeah… I think about that too. I was never really a healer—well, not in the traditional sense. I just used that to hide who I truly was. I was just a guy who couldn't do anything.
Ohma: Like now?
Gram: SHUT IT, OHMA!
Ohma: Sorry… but what do you mean by "hide"?
Gram: Well, when I was younger, I don't remember much of my past. I just remember waking up and going downstairs to find my mother wasn't there. All that was left was a pouch full of healing ingredients, so from that day on, I called myself a healer. But not anymore.
Ohma: Well, I don't think "healer" really fits you anyway.
Gram: Really? Why's that?
Ohma: Because you seem more like a guy who enjoys action. I mean, yeah, I know you run away a lot from fights and get scared—
Gram: Okay… I don't run that much.
Ohma: What I'm trying to say is that you can cast spells, and not everyone can do that.
Gram: I guess you're right. Not many people can. They can't be THE GREAT GRAM THAT I AM!
Ohma: YEAH!
???: Are you finished yet?
Gram: (Startled) Ohma, please tell me that was your voice and you were just making it deeper.
Ohma: NO, I'm afraid it wasn't.
Gram: Damnit!
Gram and Ohma slowly turn around to see five hooded assassins glaring at them, twirling their weapons.
Ohma: Assassins? That's new.
Gram: Yeah… yeah, you're right. That is new.
Assassin 2: Where's your brown-headed friend?
Ohma: Brown-headed? OH! You're talking about Himitsu!
Assassin 3: Yeah… have you seen him?
Gram whispers to Ohma.
Gram: Ohma, follow my lead. Play good cop, bad cop. I'll be the bad cop. Okay, go!
Ohma: What? Gram!
Gram: Ha! You fools!
Assassin 1: Huh? What's with this guy?
Assassin 4: No clue, man, but he's a ginger (laughs).
Assassin 5: Dude, you're right! He is a ginger.
Gram: Listen up, you idiots… My name is Gram the Great! And you don't want trouble with us.
Ohma: Uh… Yeah, no trouble with us!
Assassin 1: Oh yeah? And why's that?
Gram: You see, being as great as I am… I can kill you in an instant.
Assassin 3: Really? How?
Gram: (smirking) Hmm… I'm glad you asked. Since you were following us, I predicted you would catch us right here, so I planted mines all around you.
Assassin 5: Wh—
The assassin begins scanning the ground, attempting to locate the explosives.
Assassin 2: Nonsense! He's lying.
Gram: I mean, if you do, please walk forward and find out.
The assassin takes a deep breath and glances at his team, who appear frightened and are moving back slightly. He raises his leg, preparing to take a step.
Ohma: I'd be very careful now… You don't want to step on a mine.
Gram: Or maybe we do want to see him get blown up.
Just as the assassin is about to step forward, an elderly Gliff woman approaches with a cane and notices the assassins.
Assassin 2: Huh?
Gram: What the hell is she doing here?
Old Gliff Lady: AHHHHHHH!
Ohma: She's going to get hurt by the mines!
The lady attempts to walk quickly but falls to the ground.
Ohma: NOOOO!!! I CAN'T LET HER GET HURT BY THE MINES!
Gram: What, Ohma? What are you talking about?
Ohma rushes toward the elderly woman on the ground to assist her. As he reaches her, he holds her tightly, squinting his eyes.
Ohma: Wh—nothing happened?
Gram: Ohma, you idiot!
Ohma: Are you alright, ma'am?
The elderly lady, still frightened, gets up and hurriedly walks away. Ohma looks back at Gram with a smile while Gram is in shock.
Ohma: You okay, Gram?
Gram: OHMA, YOU IDIOT! THE MINES WEREN'T REAL!
Ohma: Oh, I thought they were… my bad (scratches his head and chuckles).
Assassin 2: I knew this was bullshit.
Ohma slowly turns around and realizes he is standing directly in front of the location where the explosives were supposed to be.
Ohma: (surprised) Oh… look at that, no mines.
Gram smacks his forehead.
Assassin 5: GET 'EM, BOYS!
Gram: (runs away) OH CARP!
Three assassins pursue Gram, while the other two confront Ohma.
Ohma: Gram!
Ohma attempts to run towards Gram, but the two assassins block his path.
Assassin 4: You're not going anywhere.
Ohma: Well then, let's get on with it.
Ohma activates his helmet, which closes with a snap. He draws his nunchucks and begins to spin them.
Assassin 5: TO HELL WITH THIS GUY!
The assassin lunges at him, but Ohma throws one nunchuck to the ground and flings it upward, striking the assassin in the face. He then throws the other nunchuck at the second assassin.
Assassin 4: What the hell!
Ohma charges at him with a flying knee, knocking the man to the ground. The two assassins recover and attack him. Meanwhile, Gram is seen running back into the city, desperately searching for a place to hide.
Gram: CRAP! CRAP! CRAP! I gotta find somewhere to hide!
Assassin 1: I saw him run down here, guys! Come on!
Gram: Crap!
As he runs, he finds himself in a dead-end alleyway.
Gram: No, no, no, NO!
Assassin 3: Hmm… looks like the little ginger found a dead end.
Gram turns around to see the three assassins closing in.
Gram: Hey guys… please, let's talk about this… I-I got money.
Assassin 2: We don't want money! We just want the brown-haired kid, like we said earlier.
Gram: (raising his hands) Alright, alright, I can bring him to you.
Assassin 1: Can you now?
Gram: Yeah! Easy peasy, I can get him.
Assassin 2: There he goes again, bullshitting. Do we look dumb to you?
Gram: Uh… Do you want me to answer that honestly?
Assassin 1: Alright, I'm done with this idiot!
The assassin lunges at him, but Daru drops down from above.
Gram: D-Daru!
Daru punches the assassin in the face, gets thrown back, and crashes into the wall.
Assassin 2: Wh-what the hell!
Assassin 3: Who are you?!
Daru: (sighs) Why are we always cleaning up your mess, Gram?
Gram: (tearing up) I missed you so much I thought I was going to die.
Gram attempts to hug Daru, but Daru slaps him in the face.
Gram: OUCH! That hurt!
Daru: Good!
Assassin 2: Wait, he said "we."
Akira: Yeah, behind you, asshole.
The assassin turns around just as a fire blast strikes him, reducing him to ash and leaving only remnants on the ground.
Assassin 3: Oh my God! Oh my God—
The third assassin attempts to flee but freezes upon seeing a blade protruding from his chest.
Zodiac: You call yourself an assassin? Pathetic.
Daru approaches Akira and Zodiac.
Daru: Really?
Akira & Zodiac: What?
Daru: (Sighs) I— Never mind.
Ohma: Guys!
Everyone turns to see Ohma.
Daru: Ohma, you good?
Ohma: Yeah! (mask deactivates) I just took care of the guys on my end. Did you save Gram again?
Gram: Hey! Ohma!
Ohma: Huh? Yes, Gram?
Gram: You see that guy behind you?
Ohma looks back and spots an unconscious man on the ground.
Ohma: Yes? What about him?
Gram: I did that.
Daru: Gram, just be quiet, please.
Gram: (Mocking) "Gram, just be quiet, please."
Daru: (Looks at Zodiac) Have you found anything on that guy yet?
Zodiac: No, I can't find him, but when I do, I'll slit his throat.
Daru: Yeah… okay.
Zodiac: And you? Did you find Cliff?
Akira: No, we lost him when these (glances at the assassin on the ground) appeared.
Zodiac notices dry blood around Akira's mouth.
Zodiac: Did you eat someone?
Akira: Wh— Oh yeah, I bit one of those guys' necks.
Zodiac: Well, it looks disgusting.
Akira: Shut up. (wipes her mouth)
Zodiac: But I found something else out.
Daru: What?
Zodiac: Himitsu has been seeing a girl here.
Akira: What?! I knew he was hiding something!
Daru: That idiot!
Zodiac: Yes, but we need to find him.
Daru: Alright, let's go.
Gram: (Talking to himself) Dammit! Himitsu, they found out!
Ohma: You coming, Gram?
Gram: What? Oh yeah… I'm coming.
As everyone sets off to find Himitsu, the scene shifts to Himitsu making his way toward the tower.
Himitsu: I wonder how everyone is doing. As soon as I get to the tower, I'll see where they are.
A few seconds later, Himitsu spots Kana running toward him in a hurry.
Himitsu: Kana?
Kana: Himitsu!
Kana finally reaches him, looking frightened and out of breath.
Himitsu: (Concerned) I thought you went home. Is everything alright?
Kana: (Sweating) Everything is not okay! I was just attacked by a group of people, and now they're after me!
Himitsu: (Nervous) What?! Don't tell me it's those people I think it is.
Kana: Yes! It must be!
Kana swiftly takes Himitsu's hand and begins to run away from the tower.
Himitsu: Where are we going?!
Kana: Away from them! I know a place where they won't find us!
As they sprint, more assassins emerge behind them, in pursuit.
Assassin 1: There they are! After them!
Himitsu: (Glancing back) This is bad! They're onto us, Kana!
Kana: Just a little further! We're almost there!
As Himitsu and Kana continue to run, weaving left and right, they spot an abandoned building with the front door slightly ajar.
Kana: (Pointing) There! Hurry inside!
Himitsu: Huh?! That one?!
Still running, they rush through the door, and Kana quickly shuts it behind them. Moments later, shadowy figures can be seen passing by the boarded-up windows.
Kana: (Collapsing to the ground) Whew! That was too close.
Himitsu: (Out of breath) Yeah, way too close.
As Himitsu catches his breath, he surveys the dusty space filled with broken furniture.
Himitsu: What is this place?
Kana: It's not much. It used to be a shop owned by a family, but they sadly passed away.
Himitsu: Oh, I'm sorry to hear that.
Kana: It's alright. I barely knew them. After they left, I kind of adopted this place as my hideout to escape everyone.
Himitsu: I understand. So, it serves as a place to relax.
Kana: Exactly. I come here to clear my mind from all the stress.
Kana walks over to a small chair and sits down.
Kana: (Looking at Himitsu) There's something I want to talk to you about.
Himitsu: There is? What's that?
Himitsu looks around and notices a box on the ground. He picks it up and places it beside Kana as he sits down.
Kana: You see, Himitsu, there's something I've wanted to share with you ever since that night.
Himitsu: What do you mean? I thought you already told me everything.
Kana: No, there's more to it. Before I met you, I didn't have anyone to talk to besides my father. I was always alone, without money, friends, or support. My purpose in life was solely to assist my father. You could say that everyone was happier and livelier before, but after the black surge, everything changed.
Himitsu: So, what are you trying to say?
Kana: (Clenching her hands) Ever since I met you, everything began to change.
Himitsu: (Surprised) Huh?
Kana: You saved me from those bad guys who wanted to break into my house. You helped me get that crystal and even defended the city from that Boyega. When I first met you, I thought you were just like everyone else. But as I got to know you better, I realized you were kind, outgoing, helpful, and positive.
Himitsu begins to tremble and blush.
Kana: I know we haven't known each other for long, but ever since you said those words to me that night, I couldn't contain myself. I think I'm starting to like you.
As Kana expresses this, Himitsu's heart races, leaving him flustered.
Himitsu: D-do you really mean that?
Kana: (Placing her hand over his) Yes, I do. Do you feel the same way?
Himitsu: Y-yes, I do. I feel exactly the same.
Kana blushes deeply, concealing her face. Himitsu rises from the box.
Himitsu: Since we feel the same way, there's something I need to tell you.
Kana: (Looking at Himitsu again) Huh?
Himitsu: I'm not a regular traveler, nor are my friends.
Kana: (Confused) You're not?
Himitsu: No. I've wanted to tell you for a while, but now I think it's the right time. My friends and I are part of an organization called the "Order of Triumph," from a place called "Sampostis."
Kana: Order of Triumph?
Himitsu: Yes. It's a special group that helps people from all dimensions, working to protect and promote peace. We're actually on a mission here to stop someone spreading chaos, known as the Black Surge.
Kana: Wait, really?
As she speaks, the front door bursts open, prompting Himitsu and Kana to turn around. They see the Maivelance Crew, except for Kono.
Akira: Himitsu! What the hell is going on here?!
Ohma: (Waving) Hey, Himitsu!
Himitsu: (Startled) What the?! How did you guys find me?!
Zodiac: We used our Jump Watch to track you down, idiot. I finally caught you.
Himitsu: But how did you—
Zodiac: I was following you. Did you really think I would leave you all alone?
Himitsu: (To himself) Damnit! They finally caught me!
They walk inside as Gram looks at Himitsu, disappointed.
Gram: Sorry, bro, there was nothing I could do.
Himitsu: It's alright; it was bound to happen.
Akira: I can't believe you were doing this behind our backs! Who is this girl?!
Daru: (Looking at Gram, shocked) Wait… Gram, you knew about this!?
Gram: Yes… BUT HIMITSU BEGGED ME NOT TO SAY ANYTHING!
Himitsu: WHAT! NO—
Daru: Ugh! I actually want to strangle you both right now!
As the conversation continues, Kana attempts to speak.
Kana: (Nervously) H-hey! My name is—
Akira: Shut up! Nobody told you to talk!
Kana hides her face, visibly frightened.
Zodiac: I believe her name is Kana, based on what I've heard.
Daru approaches Himitsu.
Daru: Himitsu, you better give us a good reason, or I'm gonna be pissed. What the hell were you doing?
Himitsu: (Stammering) I-I-I—
Daru: Tell us right now!
Himitsu: Okay, okay! As you already know, this is Kana. She and I have been talking ever since we came to this city.
Ohma: (Looking at Kana) Hi, Kana! My name is Ohma, and I'm from the Knights of—
Daru: Ohma, shut up; this is not the right time.
Ohma: Okay (smiling).
Himitsu: Look, I can explain everything!
Daru: Explain what? Talking to a girl behind our backs without telling us when you know damn well not to trust strangers?
Himitsu: I can explain!
Zodiac: (Shaking his head) I swear, you and Gram never listen.
Gram: (Upset) What! I didn't even do anything this time!
Daru: You lied, you fool! (Turning to Himitsu) What have you been doing for the past few days with her?
Himitsu: I was simply trying to get to know her.
Daru: Did you tell her who we are?
Himitsu: What?! I would never do that!
Akira senses Himitsu's heart racing.
Akira: He's lying.
Himitsu: What! No, I'm no—
Daru: I'm not going to repeat myself. Did you tell her anything about us or what we were doing?
Himitsu lowers his head.
Himitsu: Yes. In fact, I just told her a few minutes ago.
Zodiac: Hmfp, I suspected as much.
Akira grows increasingly agitated, slamming her fist into the ground and creating a sizable hole.
Akira: IDIOT!
Daru shakes his head and steps closer to Himitsu until they are face to face.
Daru: (Serious) What did I tell you before?
Himitsu: (Scared) That we are on a mission?
Daru: And stupid shit like this shouldn't happen, right?
Himitsu: Uhhh—
Daru: RIGHT?!
Himitsu: R-right!
Daru: How long will it take for you to understand? We are on a MISSION, not a date!
Kono: Guys!
Gram: Is that Kono?
Everyone turns to see Kono running toward them as she enters the building.
Kono: (Out of breath) There you all are! I had to use my watch to track you down.
Ohma: (Smiling) Oh hey, Kono!
Zodiac: Close the door behind you; we're dealing with a situation involving Himitsu.
Kono: Huh? You are?
Kono closes the front door and surveys the room.
Kono: (Confused) Why are you guys here? What's going on with Himitsu?
Akira: Go take a look.
Kono looks past everyone to see Himitsu with Kana, his head bowed.
Kono: What the...? Who is that?
Daru: A girl he's been talking to behind our backs.
Kono: What?! Is that true, Himitsu?
Himitsu remains silent. Akira rushes toward him, grabs his shirt, and lifts him off the ground, delivering a slap across his face.
Akira: Well, answer!
Daru: Relax, Akira. There's no need for that.
Akira: Yes, there is! He just told this girl everything about us!
Kono: (Interrupts) Sorry to interrupt, but I have something bigger to share.
Akira: (Turning her head) What?! What could be more important than this?!
Kono: I just found out Froog is not who he seems.
Gram: Huh?
Zodiac: What do you mean by that?
Kana flashes a sinister smile.
Kana: You're all nothing but fools, including you, Himitsu.
Himitsu: What?! What are you talking about?!
???: It means you all fell right into our trap.
