Gregorian Empire – Province of Numidia
Port City of Cartag – Amphitheater, 9:35 A.M.
—"Let the Battle begin."
The gigantic serpents were inside enormous cages… A few mages positioned themselves at a distance, apparently preparing to release those monsters.
While that was happening, I stopped to think. I had to prove why I chose the name the Abuser, So I started reminiscing about the soundtrack of a great video game, "MEGALOVANIA from 2015".
The colossal serpents lunged at me the instant they were released. I leaped, dodging their jaws, while the music ran its course.
My mind drifted again… I almost broke into tears. I don't want to be here. I wish I were in my real life, not here.
Because I got lost in my thoughts, one of the colossal serpents swallowed me whole. Even though I clung to its mouth, its strength was immense—but then I said:
—Quincy, raise everything to 20%.
[Right away, master. ♫└(⌐■-■)┘♫]
Even if my previous life was privileged by wealth, that never meant it wasn't harsh. It doesn't matter what I have to do. I've always liked doing things—and living—my own way.
"Everyone probably thinks I'm dead… fine, time to get out of here. I'm glad these new clothes won't leave me smelling like this rotten mouth."
I jumped and disintegrated the giant reptile's head. The moment I emerged into the air, the gargantuan serpents hurled themselves at me again.
I noticed it in their ferocity—apparently they hadn't been fed, and I was their main snack. Their desperation to devour me was annoying.
I got tired of dodging the Titanoboas' attacks, although the crowd strangely remained silent. Then Quincy, from his pink screen, pointed out:
[Master, what would you think if you saw a little slave dodging and dodging giant serpents? (ಠಿ_ಠ)]
—So that's it… fine. (There's nothing impressive about this, you bastards.)
I decided to do the same thing I did in the preliminaries. I jumped once more and crashed into something. "A magic barrier," I thought.
However, two Titanoboas ambushed me the moment my feet touched the ground. I threw a left hook at the one coming from the front, used the momentum, spun, and landed a clean right blow on the one coming from behind.
It all happened so fast—my focus was on another level of perception. When I looked at the ground, the heads of those two titanic serpents were just a mass of bloodied flesh. There weren't even bones visible.
I couldn't hear anything. I knew it. It was the same deathly silence as yesterday. The other three serpents I hadn't killed yet were now still. I rushed toward two of them and smashed their heads quickly, and this time I got to witness how they disintegrated like ground meat under the impact power of my fists.
Only one remained, lying near the wall separating the arena from the stands… I got into position and ran without using the basic skill, using my momentum to climb the walls.
Without thinking twice, after circling around it using the walls, I reached its tail and grabbed it firmly. I felt its skin and muscles crushing under my grip.
The monster growled in pain, tried to move, even to bite me. But before it could even try, I slammed it from side to side on the Arena floor like a rope. A very thick one.
The sound of its bones snapping, its flesh smashing violently against the ground—its body split open, and its entrails spilled out, its bones not even recognizable.
I was covered in blood again. This creature's blood was a very dark shade of green. But thanks to this clothing, I didn't have to worry about stains… though I think I'll need another bath soon.
I took a breath for a second. Undertale music ended, and I noticed even the announcer's voice was trembling:
Announcer: —"L-ladies and G-gentlemen… the u-unprecedented winner is… The Abuser!"
The moment the announcer ended the match—
Every spectator in the coliseum was stunned, terrified, and deeply shaken.
—"A damn slave… capable of t-that…" whispered a slave merchant.
—"THIS CAN'T BE, THIS CAN'T BE!" a woman screamed in horror.
Slowly, the entire arena filled with murmurs. The only ones capable of facing several Class B monsters—but especially multiple Jundurs without much effort—were the superhumans.
The pinnacle of power on the continent of Aurotia: the S-ranks.
In the royal viewing box, where the prince and the governor sat, both were in disbelief. That man wasn't part of the order they had planned the entire month.
Alex: —"WHO THE HELL IS THAT?" the prince demanded furiously of the Governor of Cartag.
Acrisius:—"I have no idea, your highness."
Alex:—"I want to know who the hell that slave is," the prince replied.
Acrisius:—"I'll find out in a moment." he bowed and left in search of Galio.
Meanwhile, Lucia was completely stunned—such a display of power was impossible for a slave. Unacceptable. And Marilyn was finally convinced that it was that young man who had saved her days before.
April, from the front row among the commoners, was the only one ecstatic. Even impressed—such a brutal way of slaughtering monsters.
The strange music started playing again… while he walked back toward his waiting room.
The slaves who had witnessed him from behind the bars either feared him, envied him, or simply wore a faint smile.
A slave challenging an arena—no… a slave shattering, through sheer brute force, the entire society's sense of superiority. Even the slave attendants who accompanied their noble masters whispered as if that strange slave were something else entirely:
—"Who is he?"
