Issa didn't dare to look once the first sausages slipped into the hot frying pan and started sizzling. But at the same time, she couldn't not look. She hid behind the closest thing, which just happened to be Tilo.
It wasn't a very good hiding spot. Tilo barely reached Issa's underside with the top of his head. Still, she crouched down and did her best to become as small as possible while sneaking a peek.
Eventually, the rich aroma of the fried sausages spread through the clearing. It was too soon to determine whether the taste would be as promised, but it certainly smelled good. It was a more fragrant smell than the one the Ursa tribe had managed to lure out of the sausages the last time they made them.
Everyone else was already in favor of Issa's idea. They had no reason to think it wouldn't work. They were just waiting for the sausages to finish to confirm.
Issa was the only one who was worried until she was trembling. It was a little pitiful.
