Hi, I'm Ryan. I don't have a lot of friends but my mom would always tell me, "Cherish those close to you because one day if I'm gone then they can take my place." I never believed that it would happen. That time came sooner than expected.
I live with my dad, Gerald, and my little sister, Emily. I can tell dad is still hung up on mom's death but he still tries to support us the best he can, I think. My sister has always clung to me like I was her reason to live. Whenever I leave to go school I see her sulk and whenever I'm home she already has dinner prepared for me and dad. I tell her I can take care of it but she says, "It's my duty to provide for big brother." I don't mind it though. She took off our mom's recipe book and always copies it to the last ingredient. Although, it's always on the sweeter side. I'm guessing it's just her preference to eat sweet food but I've never asked. They effort she puts into making it everyday is more than enough to get me to eat it. But that's enough about my family, Anyways I have 2 friends, a whole 2; Jamie and Sara. Well Sara technically isn't a friend just Jamie's girlfriend but that's enough for me. I go to a local community college not far from our apartment complex. I try focus there although the teachers always turn up late and make us copy out of a textbook for most lessons. I want to move my family out of that run down complex to a nice comfy house. And for that to happen I need to study. With all the studying, naturally I had no time for romance. I had wondered but hadn't delivered. However, there was a girl in my class that seemed equally as determined to study, and that caught my eye.
