He looked up at the director as he yelled cut for what felt like the hundredth time. He slumped on the floor starting to feel frustrated. They had gone over the scene so many times his face was starting to ache from putting on the same facial expressions.
He wondered where they even got the person acting beside him. He was an idol who wanted to transition to acting. He had heard a lot of praise for him and his popularity recently that and he was apparently from a rich family who had agreed to sponsor the drama in exchange for their son getting some scenes done. He had claimed to be so busy so all his scenes were pushed back and Ha-ru didnt get to see him until now.
Coupled up with the actors bad acting was the director who was so precise on his vision and how he wanted the actors to deliver the line which the actor wasn't meeting. He had seen the director already drink through ten bottles of water to calm down.
"Okay everyone take a break." The assistant director shouted. He heard everyone visibly sigh with relief as they dispersed some rushing towards the washroom and others slumping down to the floor.
He decided to take some water and walked past the idol. He heard him cuss and state that the director was shit that's why he wasn't getting the lines right as a means to defend himself from the obvious even his manager who looked a bit frightened but not puzzled by his words could only bite his tongue and agree with him.
Ha-ru let out a chuckle as he opened his water bottle. He could already picture how frustrated the director was. He placed the bottle down after a few gulps and took out his phone.
It had taken some time and a lot of effort but he had finally gotten the hang of using the phone he could even type and send messages although he typed slowly but he typed none the less. At the beginning he had typed a ten word message for so long the others had teased him about being old plus his vocabulary wasn't what they were used to so he told them he was method acting so he could get in tune with his character they let it go but he knew it wouldn't hold as an excuse after he was done so he had been doing some research on what to say. Sometimes he struggled so much he had to search some of the words they used.
He looked through his messages and came across the message from a week ago.
He still hadn't replied to it.
He didnt really know what to say at this point.
He had called out to him.
Asked him to go to him right when he had learnt about what happened to Ha-ru when tehy broke up.
At first he was angry that he had the audacity to ask of something like that from a person whose heart he had broken and hurt to that extent.
It made Ha-ru retreat. He didnt want Ha-ru to experience that again.
He wasn't really in love with Jae-wook his emotions for him were nonexistent although when they met at the apartment he had felt some tingles here and there he thought it was remnants of the feelings Ha-ru had for Jae-wook still lingering in his memories.
He didnt want to open a door he had to right or key over. Besides that he didn't really know if he would be able to keep up the facade if ever Jae-wook tried something with him.
He had never been with a man before or even felt anything for any man or maybe the era didn't allow him to ever have that thought.
He had been tought a man and woman were meant for procreation at the church he went to when he was still at the orphanage and that had stayed with him until he was grown. He had thoughts of taking up an lgbtq role to widen his roster and broken his acting prowess but he had died before he could do anything.
He let out a sigh as he scrolled past the message.
Ha-ru had burned that bridge he had no right to build it back up and give hope where there was none.
He had to look for another way to figure out the problem with joowan or he could just leave it alone all together. This wasn't his life and he had already interfered in too much.
He replied to his mother who was asking what he wanted to have for dinner before placing the phone back in his pocket.
He didnt notice the idol had stood up and approached him and was now standing in front of him.
He looked up to see the talk figure standing in front of him with a smile on his face.
"Hello..." Ha-ru asked in confusion. The guy wasn't social and none of the crew willingly approached him so he had assumed he had a bad attitude and also avoided him.
All he wanted to do was finish his scenes go home and once this project was done lock it up as he explored other options. He had taken quite some interest in the games Ha-ru played they surprisingly made him calm and relaxed.
"You are looking down on me." Ji-woon accused as he placed his hands on his chest.
Ha-ru stared at him irritated by him already. His tone was so offputing and the fact he put him through the same scene a hundred and one times didn't help his case.
"Why do you say that? " Ha-ru asked as politely as he could.
"Well my father is sponsoring this drama we can repeat as many times as I please!"
"I don't see how that concerns me?" Ha-ru clapped back his irritation visible.
"I can have you removed !"
"Believe me you would be doing me a favour!" Ha-ru stated patting his shoulder to which Ji-woon stepped back making Ha-rus hand fall.
"You aren't better than me."
"I am not the one who caused us to repeat the scene so many times now am I?"
The manager looked at Ha-ru dumbfounded by his response.
Jiwoon let out a frustrated sigh.
"Well if you don't want to repeat it so many times why don't you help me. "
"You could have just started with that!" Ha-ru mumbled as he scratched his head.
"Fine. " Ha-ru stated after some moments of silence.
They sat down and revised the script with Ha-ru telling him how to improve his expressions on some of the lines..
When the director finally came. His anger and frustration slightly extinguished they got back to the scene.
Ji-woon followed the steps he had been given and the director feeling it was better than nothing and wanting to end the day approved of it.
Ha-ru stood at the parking lot waiting for Alice to pick him up when Ji-woons car stopped in front of him.
"Do you want a ride?" He asked while the sliding door automatically opened.
"My manager is picking me up." Ha-ru said looking away.
Although he had helped Ji-woon he hadn't warmed up to him he only helped him so he could get it over and done with and he could go home and sleep early for once.
He only had that scene to shoot yet it took so long.
"Why don't I treat you as an apology I am sure your manager will be okay with it. "
"I have other plans i need to undertake. " he said trying to brush him off once again.
"It will only be for an hour. " Ji-woon tried persuading him once again.
Just then he got a text on his phone.
Alice had sent him a message that she had to deal with another artist and he should take a taxi instead.
With a sigh he got into the car with Ji-woon smiling widely.
"Only one hour though. " he said looking at his phone. It was already seven thirty.
