If the experiment succeeded, it would prove that turning the Ten‑Tails into the Divine Tree was not difficult: even a member of the mixed‑blood Ōtsutsuki clan with very high purity could serve as an offering.
If it failed, it would mean the Ten‑Tails could only evolve into the Divine Tree with a pure‑blood Ōtsutsuki who possessed the clan's "Multi-Color" lineage.
In that case Izayoi could no longer hunt pure‑blood Ōtsutsuki at will.
Before all the scattered Ōtsutsuki converged on the Great Ōtsutsuki Forest, Izayoi still had two targets: Ōtsutsuki Kaguya, sealed inside the Moon, and Ōtsutsuki Isshiki, whose hiding place was unknown.
Both were extremely hard to capture.
As Kaguya's superior—and after eating the Chakra Fruit—"Rabbit Goddess" possessed space‑time powers second only to Izayoi, who had already mastered the Dimensional Slash.
Yet their escape abilities were something even Izayoi found troublesome.
Isshiki would be a bit easier to catch—unless he had already found a "vessel," branded it with a Kāma, and begun reincarnation. If Izayoi arrived at Jigen (Isshiki's host) in time, Isshiki would have no way out.
Without Amenominaka, Isshiki's escape skills could not match Kaguya's.
Still, locating Isshiki in the myriad pocket dimensions was an arduous task.
Therefore Izayoi prepared a third, rather fanciful path—evolution through cloning.
Two geniuses of scientific ninja tools
The Boruto era had two brilliant scientists.
1. Amado Sanzu – developer of advanced ninja‑tech weapons who secretly accelerated shinobi progress and excelled at cloning.
He created Delta, a clone whose appearance matched his late daughter but whose personality was the opposite.
Using Jiraiya's genes, he produced the clone Kashin Koji.
From the corpse or genetic material of Ōtsutsuki Shibai, he engineered Eida and Daemon, remodelled beings who wielded divine techniques.
Without Amado, Isshiki would have struggled to find compatible vessels for Kāma.
2. Orochimaru – by Boruto's time he had perfected his body, capable of changing sex or even regenerating like White Zetsu without extra cells. His scientific prowess, more than his combat strength, had advanced the most.
Like Amado's creations, Orochimaru produced "artificial humans" who could enter Sage Mode or even true Sage Transformation.
Yet, lacking Isshiki's backing, Orochimaru had far poorer resources—monitored by Konoha and short on research material—unlike Amado, who enjoyed Kara's support and access to Shibai's remains.
Given equal conditions, Izayoi believed Orochimaru would equal—or surpass—Amado, especially with Kabuto's help. If necessary, Izayoi could even summon Edo‑Tensei Tobirama to brainstorm with them.
Unfortunately, Izayoi could not locate Amado; otherwise bringing that genius to Konoha would have sped things up dramatically.
If Orochimaru succeeded in cloning beings that carried the Ōtsutsuki "Multi-Color" bloodline, Izayoi would no longer need to wait for pure‑blood Ōtsutsuki to appear; he would have an endless supply of sacrifices.
Izayoi cast a genjutsu with his Rinne‑Tenseigan, replaying for Orochimaru the Infinite Tsukuyomi vision he had seen through Tensonari, so Orochimaru could understand the true nature of White Zetsu.
After watching this secret history, Orochimaru was both shocked and fearful.

At that moment Orochimaru felt a sudden gratitude toward Izayoi. The Infinite Tsukuyomi dream had let him taste the ecstasy of mastering every jutsu and achieving immortality, but a dream was still a dream. If forced to choose between that illusion and his laboratory with reincarnation research, he would unhesitatingly choose the latter.
Izayoi had become a sage‑of‑six‑paths‑level being; with his youth and power he would surely seek the true immortality even Hagoromo failed to reach. By following Izayoi, Orochimaru might realize that wish—or at least glimpse divinity—far better than wasting away in a false dream and turning into a White Zetsu.
"I leave this place to you as your lab," Izayoi smiled. "I'll link this pocket dimension to the White Zetsu world. There's a seal only you and I can open; feel free to bring Kabuto here. If needed, I can also summon Sasori of the Red Sand or Edo‑Tensei the Second Hokage to assist."
"Whom do you want to be cloned?" Orochimaru asked. "Uchiha Madara? The Sage of Six Paths? Or…you?"
"Let's start with this fellow."
Izayoi tore open space and produced a severed arm. "If you can clone him, it means your technology has reached the pinnacle of humanity; then you can attempt cloning gods—six‑path‑level beings."
"Whose arm is that?" Orochimaru stared at it, puzzled.
"Ōtsutsuki Toneri's," Izayoi answered bluntly.
"The owner of the Tenseigan…" Orochimaru's eyes lit up while a storm raged in his mind: Izayoi had indeed defeated both Madara and Toneri in the final battle! And that arm was Toneri's authentic flesh. In truth, Izayoi had also bested the Rabbit Goddess and slain the Sage of Six Paths.
After handing over the arm, Izayoi and Orochimaru left the pocket dimension to find a place to anchor its entrance. Orochimaru chose his current lab—the former Root base.
Having returned to Konoha, Orochimaru took it as his residence and research site; Kabuto now headed the Konoha orphanage. Appreciating their talents, Izayoi spared no resources.
Once the portal was linked to Orochimaru's lab, Izayoi also gave him the complete Yin‑Yang Release scroll recovered from the Moon, fully translated into Japanese. Had Izayoi already mastered Kāma's secrets, he would have handed those over as well; opening Orochimaru's horizons was the key to explosive progress. Kara's success with Kawaki relied on Amado conducting many Kāma implantation trials.
Ecstatic, Orochimaru trembled like a pirate finding One Piece:
"I knew Yin Release and Yang Release weren't simple. These two properties hide the secrets of the human body—Yin‑Yang Release, the art that creates all things. It's a stairway to godhood!"
"Glad you like it," Izayoi laughed.
"Rest assured, Izayoi‑kun, I will give my all to aid you," Orochimaru replied.
"No hurry—take your time. I trust you," Izayoi said.
Even if it took decades, Izayoi could wait. Once he possessed technology to mass‑produce Ōtsutsuki sacrifices, he would no longer need to hunt pure‑blood clansmen; by "farming" clones he could continuously trigger Multi-Colored entries and double‑accelerate his evolution.
Thus Orochimaru, Kabuto, and Amado were Izayoi's most valued assets—anyone who harmed them would face his wrath, even extermination. Assigning Orochimaru to this upgraded lab also kept them safe from Isshiki. If Isshiki did stumble upon that pocket dimension, he would be walking into Izayoi's trap.

With the laboratory arranged and Orochimaru entrusted, Izayoi finally had time to handle shinobi‑world affairs.
"Lord Izayoi, the former top ANBU agent, Tenzo, has returned. He wishes to see you," reported Karin, dressed in a black suit in the Hokage office. Her expression was odd; she had treated Tenzo when Izayoi farmed the Wood Release (Purple) bloodline and had assumed Izayoi had disposed of him. Evidently Tenzo had survived, only now returning to Konoha. It was clear Izayoi had merely imprisoned him until peace prevailed.
"Have him report to Sasuke," Izayoi answered casually.
"I understand," Karin nodded, assured that Izayoi had cleared any suspicion.
After Karin left, Hinata informed Izayoi:
"Lord Izayoi, the daimyō wishes to hold a chakra‑TV conference with you. He scheduled it days ago."
"No need—I know why he's calling."
Izayoi wrote a single line on a blank scroll, opened the Rift, and tossed the scroll inside.
In the daimyō's mansion, the five daimyō of the great nations were enjoying cards and flattering the Fire Daimyō when a black rift opened, forming a small black window that dropped a scroll before disappearing.
"D‑Daimyō‑sama, that was the Hokage's power," a guard stammered.
All five daimyō shuddered, feeling fear and helplessness. So this is the power of the God of Shinobi—on a different level from the former Kage. If Izayoi wished, he could erase them and abolish the one‑nation‑one‑village system; not even the combined might of a nation could resist him.
Even the previously smug Fire Daimyō trembled as he picked up the scroll. Seeing the words inside, he exhaled in relief and smiled at the other four daimyō, who were shaking.
"Rest easy. The Sixth decrees that we maintain the status quo."
"Wonderful—truly wonderful!" the four daimyō cheered. Their personal ninja guards, directly under the daimyō rather than any village, also relaxed. They had feared Izayoi would topple the current order, dooming everyone present.
Fortunately, like the First Hokage, the Sixth upheld the one‑nation‑one‑village system. Their authority—and lives—were safe.
They even expected to "offer some flesh," yet Izayoi demanded nothing. That was the best news imaginable.
Unknown to them, Izayoi left things unchanged partly to avoid extra work but mainly to keep Isshiki from becoming alarmed. Isshiki's current body—Jigen—was collapsing; to reincarnate fully he needed a compatible Kāma vessel.
He would still bind children with shinobi aptitude as test subjects and eventually return to the physical world. As long as the ninja world remained quiet and Izayoi stayed "confined" to Konoha, Isshiki would lower his guard, just as in the original timeline when he operated Kara under the façade of Naruto‑Sasuke enforced peace.
Once Isshiki emerged, Izayoi's countless wood clones, monitoring every corner each second, would spot him. Then it would be cat‑and‑mouse time.
