"So you're fairly sure this group ordered the attacks on Dennis and Marsha, and that's why we're joining them?" Aaron asked.
After meeting Earny, they had returned to their hotel room. They hadn't held back when choosing somewhere comfortable. Both had enjoyed a shower, music was playing, and they had ordered room service.
"I know the White Tigers attacked Dennis," Max answered. "I'm not completely sure about Marsha. It looks like the same group, but we won't meet the people in charge or get trusted with jobs like that straight away."
"That explains why you wanted someone to look after Mira. We don't know how long we'll be here."
"Don't worry. Groups like this reward skill. Once we show what we can do, we'll move up quickly."
Max settled into his seat.
"Loyalty matters, but they'll also worry about another group recruiting us. They'll want to treat us well. We look young, so they'll think giving us positions of power will encourage us to stay."
