Chapter 8. The Censorship Committee Is Stunned—Was This Really Created by a Human?

Next was the soundtrack.

Deep, resonant notes carried an air of unease, circling within the lower registers, their dissonance seemingly chaotic yet delivering a mounting sense of anxiety.

The orchestral arrangement felt like an omen, foretelling an impending catastrophe—like someone weeping in despair.

This was a masterpiece—a fusion of writing, imagery, and music. From the moment of its creation, it heralded the arrival of a grand epic.

[Beyond the aurora—

A boundless white mist engulfed the planet's surface, its lethal toxins declaring the annihilation of all life.

First scene—

A vast steel city, countless humans collapsing amid a sea of plague and dense poison.

Fear and panic permeated every corner.

Above them, a black vortex remained torn open—a remnant of the magic ritual. The entire world was drowned in agonizing cries.

One by one, radiant civilizations fell, the toxic mist indiscriminately exterminating all races on Earth.

Humanity, once the dominant species, plummeted into the abyss, struggling to survive in despair and conflict.

Faced with extinction, nations cast aside their prejudices.

All of humanity united for the survival of their species, devoting themselves to genetic modification research, conducting countless unknown experiments on their own kind.

Then, the next-generation race, known as A-Ray, was born, alongside a few New Humans who had evolved to withstand the planet's toxicity. Though no longer pure humans, they persevered, surviving upon this dying Earth.

Yet, upon witnessing its children surpass death and continue their existence, Gaia felt a terror that pierced to its very core.

Thus, it sent one final SOS to the entire Solar System:

"Eradicate all primates who still live upon my corpse after I have perished!"

The other planets received Gaia's plea. And as the ultimate enforcer of planetary will, the Ultimate Ones (UO) would soon descend upon Earth—to purge the new primate species inhabiting its remains.]

This was the prologue to Land of Steel, a story set in a post-apocalyptic world.

Next, the main plot would begin with a golden-haired angel with pure white wings, introducing the existence of A-Ray on this dead planet—a world embodying both the wickedness and resilience of humanity, the indestructible spirit and unwavering faith of their kind...

On this desolate land, humans did everything they could to survive.

Raku Sou typed like a madman, his fingers moving so fast they left faint afterimages in the air.

Suddenly, his body stiffened. His hands froze in mid-air.

The effects of NZT-48 had worn off.

He had only managed to complete half of Land of Steel.

Falling out of that godlike state, no matter how strong his willpower was, he couldn't help but feel a tinge of regret and loss.

The him in that state and the him now felt like two entirely different people.

"I'll just have to get more Divine Authority Jade in the future, then enhance myself to that level permanently."

Raku Sou muttered, reassuring himself.

That feeling—it was too intoxicating.

Then, as his gaze drifted back to the words filling the screen, he rubbed his eyes in disbelief.

"What the hell—did I really write this!?"

The grandiose prose, the profound themes, the flawless illustrations…

The seamless integration of imagery and storytelling drew the reader in completely. The heroic resolve of humanity, choosing to sever its own hand to survive—the sheer tragic grandeur of it all could move readers to tears.

A masterpiece. An undeniable masterpiece!

Raku Sou was certain—Land of Steel would shake the internet, bringing him a massive wave of Divine Authority Jade.

Laying the groundwork for his next steps.

The moment he pressed "Post", the Twitter account Merlin officially published the work.

"Hope I wake up to some good news."

Raku Sou murmured, his eyes heavy with exhaustion as he collapsed onto his bed.

Closing his eyes, he slowly drifted into a light slumber.

...

At the Same Time— Tokyo, Twitter Headquarters.

"The fuck… since when did rookies get this cocky!?"

A young content moderator sat frozen, eyes widened in shock at the screen in front of him.

[Twitter Publishing Zone—

Land of Steel (Pending Approval).

No guarantee of completion, no guarantee of tying up loose ends, no answering questions, no making friends, no publishing...

I write, you read—stay silent.]

Kudou Tomoki swore—in all his five years as a content moderator, he had never seen a rookie this arrogant!

Normally, newbie bloggers worshipped their readers like gods, bending over backward to please them. Afraid of offending anyone, they treated every follower like precious gold, practically begging for support with their heads pressed to the floor.

And when their view counts tanked into oblivion, these same bloggers would sob their hearts out, drowning in despair.

But this guy—

This guy was the opposite!

He was treating himself like the god here—as if readers should be the ones bowing to him instead!

Arrogant!

Unbelievable!

After grumbling to himself for a bit, Kudou Tomoki lazily clicked open the post.

Whatever. Rookies always had their heads in the clouds.

Give it a few days—once this guy's view count hit rock bottom, he'd shut up on his own. That so-called "great idea" would die the same death as every other failed project.

But—

The moment the screen loaded…

A grand, breathtaking scene unfolded before his eyes.

A sorrowful, heavy melody rose from the speakers.

Even before reading a single word, the imagery and music alone squeezed Kudou Tomoki's heart, making it hard to breathe.

His body froze.

His indifferent expression turned blank.

It felt like his soul had been pulled into the melancholic world before him.

A few clear tears fell, dripping silently onto his hands.

"Drip… drip…"

"Am I… crying?"

The young editor stared down at his wet hands, completely dumbfounded.

His brain hadn't even processed what was happening, but his body had already reacted.

This…

This was beyond logic.

Kudou Tomoki snapped his head up, eyes locked onto the screen, heartbeat racing.

Maybe—

Maybe this insane rookie had actually written a masterpiece…!

"Gulp."

The sound of him swallowing filled the silent office as he hurriedly scrolled down.

The story unfolded before him.

Six illustrations. Two background soundtracks.

Every single painting was breathtaking—so surreal, so meaningful it was impossible to describe.

The music—so delicate, yet so overwhelmingly emotional, it made his chest tighten.

And then—

Then came the words.

"This is the absolute apocalypse. The planet that once cradled all life is now dead."

"A white mist swallows the world whole. Amidst the agonized screams of all creation, civilizations once radiant, beautiful, pitiful… all wither away together."

"Is this the punishment humanity brought upon itself, after digging its own grave?"

A sorrow so deep it seeped into the soul—just a few words had painted an apocalypse so utterly hopeless.

With the music and images combined, the story dragged Kudou Tomoki into its world—

A world of grief and despair, impossible to escape.

A piano's low, mournful notes echoed like a funeral hymn.

Each melody, rich with intricate emotions, made him feel as if he had been transported somewhere else entirely.

In his mind's eye, the world lay in ruins.

The earth lay shattered.

Corpses drifted across poisoned rivers.

The agonized screams of the dying never ceased, chilling him to the bone.

This was not just words on a screen.

The world was truly dying before his eyes.

Kudou Tomoki couldn't stop his tears, his trembling hand instinctively reaching out—trying to touch this world of sorrow.

But all he felt was the cold, lifeless surface of his monitor.

He stood still, breathless, overwhelmed by the sheer power of these words.

For the first time in his life, he realized—

Words could be so powerful, they blurred the line between fiction and reality.
