LENA
I didn't sleep.
The moonlight spilled across my blanket like liquid silver, drenching everything in a cold kind of clarity. It was too bright, too sharp. Every time I closed my eyes, all I could see was the look on Dom's face if he ever found the letter I hadn't even written yet. All I could hear was Marcus's voice, still echoing through my mind from the raven that came hours ago.
He won't make it back in time. He's too far.
He'll die out there. They all will.
But you can save them.
Save them. At the cost of myself. That was the deal.
I turned on my side and stared at the door. Evan was probably on the porch again, or doing quiet rounds. Sienna wouldn't be far. They were still rotating watch, still pretending they weren't doing it because of me. I hated that I couldn't even blame them.
