Chapter 3 - warning!!warning!!part(3/3)

The news shocked the earth to its core . The reality of the second asteroid hit harder than any prior disaster . people around the world watched in disbelief as Astra's calm voice projected the terrible truth

"The second asteroid will strike the Yucatan peninsula."

The "Last Hope" Ark was silent—its passengers staring into space, helpless. Inside, no one spoke; the weight of their situation suffocated them. It was as if the whole world, both on Earth and in the Ark, was collectively holding its breath, waiting for the inevitable. The hidden fate of humanity, once again, loomed over them.

The collision.

But this time, unlike before, humanity didn't surrender. They would fight. They would survive. No one was going to give up without a battle. Hope hadn't died—it was evolving into defiance.

With all they had learned, with all their tech, nations set aside their differences. Friends and foes alike joined forces in an unprecedented display of unity. The world—on the brink of annihilation—would fight back. They weren't just waiting for the end to come. They were preparing for it.

Across the globe, alliances were forged, massive defense systems deployed, and weaponry of unimaginable power was readied. Every nation, regardless of past conflicts, took to the skies, their fighter jets and military craft soaring, and their satellite defenses activated. The global effort to stop the asteroid had begun, and humanity's will to survive burned brighter than ever.

But it was Astra's final words that rang in their ears:

"The asteroid will strike the Yucatán Peninsula... and this is where humanity's story will end."

"Unfortunately... even nukes couldn't destroy it."

The words echoed across command centers, war rooms, and emergency broadcasts worldwide. Silence followed. A dreadful, sinking silence—the kind that comes when all options have been exhausted.

The world had thrown everything it had at the asteroid. Nuclear warheads, orbital railguns, experimental energy cannons—every weapon that mankind had spent centuries perfecting was unleashed.

Nothing worked.

The massive rock remained untouched, its surface absorbing the explosions like a titan shrugging off mere dust. The fireballs dissipated, and for a brief moment, the world hoped. But as the flames cleared, the asteroid still advanced, unstoppable, its course unchanged.

Panic erupted. Scientists screamed at their monitors, desperately recalculating. Generals shouted into dead comms, demanding more options that simply didn't exist. Millions prayed, but even the heavens were silent.

The end was inevitable.
