"Well, well, well, look who do we have here."
A djinn and an elf approached the scene.
Behind them, a raven changed form. Whazk turned the djinn to stone and beheaded the elf before they could say or do anything else.
"We're done here. Tyna and Elko, take that stone djinn to Giornie and wait for us there. We need to burn this place down before heading to Morocco," said Whazk through the Shadow Elementals mind-link network.
"Foes are down, but we still need to set the compound on fire. I'll let you know when we're leaving. Jourmol and I will go to Morocco with the crew, and we'll head to the CMMA HQ when we're done," mind-linked Coralis to Sonylla.
Sonylla relayed the information to the people in the room.
"Glad to hear Blue Thunder is okay. I was worried for a moment," said High Mage Finnas.
"Tell them they need to come here now," said General Tobly.
"No, they don't. Tobly, this is not your mission. Blue Thunder and Agent Jourmol Pinq are Shadow Elemental members, and this is a Shadow Elemental mission," said High Elf Frizzo before turning his attention to Sonylla. "Agent Sonylla Windflame, you will tell them no such thing. We will not interfere with their mission and are thankful for them to have rescued Agent Jourmol Pinq."
"To fight like this, without using elemental energy and right after walking out of a brutal 10 days of imprisonment, Blue Thunder and Alejandro Salinz are definitive forces to reckon with. I do not understand why fools keep underestimating them," said Panjik.
"Is their mission over now? I mean, they succeeded, right?" said Frank.
"Not quite. It will be officially over when Blue Thunder and Agent Jourmol Pinq will walk through a portal and arrive here," said High Mage Finnas.
"I don't understand why they won't take a portal to Morocco instead. Travelling by air isn't efficient. We need to tell them to portal," said General Tobly.
"Tobly, this is a Shadow Elemental mission, not ours. There are many crucial details we do not know. We will know more when they get here," said High Fay Ellya.
Meanwhile, at 3:35 local time, Giornie departed from the ground and took the direction of the Shadow Elementals' former compound near Sofi, in Morocco, where their foes weren't looking for them at that moment and where they could set up a trap without leading them to their current compounds. Coralis returned the bind and sword she used to Whazk before reaching out to Sonylla.
"We're on our way to Morocco to drop a prisoner and for a brief meeting. We'll take the fixed portal from Spain when we're done."
"You're in a state to fly?" said Sonylla.
"Ask that question to Sebastian and see what he'll tell you. If it can make you feel better, however, I'm not flying on my stick. I'm travelling on a flying platform. I'll fly from Morocco to Spain, but it's a short distance."
Sonylla repeated what Coralis said to Sebastian, and he laughed for a minute before he answered her, and so did Emery.
"You could rip her eyes out, and she'll still be able to fly you home even if she has never been to your place before. We're former professional flyball players, remember? Flying is second nature to us."
Frank's and Sebastian's phones rang.
"Let me guess, the world just found out that Blue and Alejandro escaped," continued Sebastian.
"I kinda want to tell them that they're late on the news. They escaped about 5 hours ago," said Frank, chuckling.
"I wouldn't be surprised if their ranking has also changed. Not because human authorities will see them even more as a threat following their escape, but because of the stunt they just pulled against those who likely are the ones controlling who goes on the lists," said Emery.
High Elf Yalor opened another holographic monitor and tuned it to a national human news channel.
"Still no clear pictures of them posted, that's good," said Frank, watching the breaking news coverage of their jailbreak.
"Wanna bet Erik and Henry will have a field day with that breaking news?" said Sebastian to Frank while sending a quick text message to Stephanie. 'Frank and I can't talk at the moment. We will call everyone back when we can. Love you.'
"They can't get a good picture of any of us. Holographic pictures will not render a clear one for the press or any other media, and unless they catch us with all of our binds on, our aura will distort and blur the picture a human camera takes," said High Fay Ellya.
"They locked them up without their binds," said Sonylla.
"Holy gods from above, they even released the twelve other prisoners suspected of witchcraft. Their ranking will definitively change," said Emery.
A little bit past midnight, the fixed holographic monitor lit up. Someone was trying to connect to it. High Elf Yalor accepted the connection, seeing it was from Jourmol.
"I will soon fly to Spain with Blue Thunder, and we will take the portal there. We should be ready to pass through your fixed portal in about an hour."
"How are you, the both of you?" said High Fay Ellya.
"I'm good. Blue is alive. Some people here wanted her to see a doctor before heading back but she refused, saying the blood on her isn't hers for the most part, so I'd say she's better than what she looks like, all things considered."
Sebastian looked at Frank, who was staring at the monitor.
"I'll get a nurse to check on you two when you arrive," said High Fay Ellya.
"She did kill a few dozen djinns in there with a sword, I'm sure she looks like a vampire's fantasy," said Emery.
An hour later, they all stood by their fixed portal, but no one requested passage. Several minutes later, Sebastian pulled his hologram to try to reach out to Coralis, but couldn't make a connection.
"She broke it during a battle, remember?" said Sonylla before reaching out to her through mind-link. "What's up, girl? Jourmol told us to expect you two an hour after he called us. Why the delay?"
"We nearly got intercepted near the Madrid fixed portal. Alejandro flew with us there to shortcut his way to his mate, who's currently staying in Germany, but some people knew we were to portal from there. They almost got Jourmol because he was with us, making him fall from his stick. No worries, though, he's fine."
"REALLY?? HOW?"
"Really. We think the brother of Alejandro's mate works for the nasties we've been fighting against. She told him we'd portal from Madrid. His mate was in tears in his mind, saying she didn't want to believe what her parents told her, that her brother had turned against them."
"Holy gods from above! Are you still dodging them?"
"No. We just arrived at Alejandro's cousin. Alejandro ditched and destroyed his hologram to ensure he couldn't be tracked. His cousin is about to leave to get him a new one. Alejandro will portal from here when his cousin returns with a new one, and reunite with his mate in Denmark instead. Jourmol and I will soon fly to Paris and take the fixed portal there to St. John's, then fly to Halifax to take the fixed portal there linking to the CMMA Headquarters. We'll let you guys know when we're in St. John's."
Sonylla relayed the information to the others.
"Now I see why you guys said their mission isn't over until they arrive here," said Frank, worried.
"No offence, brother, but you should have known that one by now. Even when we think it's over, a lot of time, it's not. Remember the night she revealed herself to you?" said Sebastian.
"The fixed portal between Paris and St. John's has been destroyed a year ago," said General Tobly.
