Sonylla had a meeting at the CMMA Headquarters in Winnipeg. She left the meeting room, wondering if she should head home or stay to train as she healed internal injuries around her ribs.
"PLEASE, tell me you've got eyes on Frank right now! Tell me they're nowhere near him!" mind-linked Coralis to Sonylla.
"I'm in Winnipeg, but I'll portal by your place if you need me to. What's happening?" said Sonylla, heading toward the portal area.
"Please do. Come listen to this," said Coralis, trying not to let rage get over her. "I swear I'm holding on by a very thin thread. Everything in me sees red and screams to lash out at them to make them bleed from everywhere, but it's game over if I do."
Sonylla didn't stop walking and tried to keep a blank face while hurrying toward the portal area, letting her senses and memory guide her while her eyes were looking through Coralis's ones.
"See, we told you. We knew you were married. If you won't talk, your husband will, I promise you that. We will ask you one last time. We told you the third time would be the last. If you don't answer my question, my colleague will bring him in from the next room."
"HOLY GODS FROM ABOVE! That's sick dirty mind games they're playing! I'm almost in the portal area. You overkill your wards, but I'll beg the gods and goddesses for forgiveness, I'll portal on your neighbour's rooftop. I've seen it from across the park."
"OPEN YOUR EYES WHEN WE TALK TO YOU!" said Coralis's guard as he whipped her back.
"Thank you," answered Coralis in mind-link as Sonylla felt more whip marks appearing on her back, going deeper than before. "All day, they kept telling me they had Frank, that I should answer their questions if I wanted him to stay alive, but I kept repeating myself that they were lying, with my eyes closed so they couldn't see the raging anger in my eyes and how it affects me."
"Where did you bury the children you killed? How many did you sacrifice to Satan?" said Coralis's guard just before Sonylla opened a portal on the rooftop next to Frank's building.
Coralis stayed silent as Sonylla's eyes returned to where she was.
"HOW IN GODS' WORLD DID THEY COME UP WITH THAT ONE??? My eyes are seeing your mate walking out of your apartment with his wolf guard," said Sonylla as she activated an invisible glamour on herself and closed the portal behind her. "I don't know where they're going, but they'll have me hitching a ride with them. If I knock something while jumping down on your neighbour's front balcony, hopefully, people will blame the wind."
Sonylla voided her invisibility glamour when her feet landed by the second-floor apartment's door.
"I don't know what you're talking about. I don't kill children, and I do not worship Satan," said Coralis, with her eyes still shut, forcing herself to stay calm, focusing on the fact that Frank was okay and far from their reach.
"GUYS! WAIT FOR ME!" said Sonylla while running down the front stairs of the building next door.
"Thanks, I needed to hear that. They can do what they want to me, I don't care. So long as I know for sure that Frank is well and untouched, I've got this."
Frank and Liam turned toward the voice with a puzzled expression.
"Sonylla? What are you doing here?" said Frank, standing next to the driver's door of his car while Sonylla ran to them.
"I got you, girl, no need to thank me. I know you'd do the same for Derek," said Sonylla to Coralis before answering Frank. "You don't want to know, but I'm coming with you wherever you're going."
Sonylla tried to open the back door by the front passenger seat, but couldn't. Frank unlocked it, and she got in the backseat. He was confused as to why Sonylla appeared seemingly out of nowhere without letting him know she'd be there, but he figured it had something to do with Coralis. Frank looked at Liam, who was even more confused.
"I'll introduce you two in the car," said Frank as he opened his door.
Frank's expression darkened as he looked at Sonylla after closing his car door and saw bright red marks appearing on her neck.
"You're right. I'm sure I don't want to know and that I'll regret asking you, but what's happening to my mate?" said Frank before turning his face to look at Liam. "Liam, Sonylla is very closely connected to Blue. Sonylla, Liam is my tech assistant Blue hired to protect me."
"Yes, I know about your wolf guard," said Sonylla, smiling as she looked at the two men in the front seats. "Blue is fine now. What you see isn't remotely as bad as what I heard earlier before portalling my lovely ass onto your neighbour's rooftop because she overkilled the wards around your apartment."
Frank put his left hand on the steering wheel and paused, his right hand holding the ignition key mid-air.
"Somehow, I know she's fine, or you wouldn't be here alive and kicking on my backseat, but I also know she's not, or you wouldn't be here."
"Fine. She's peachy now because she knows I have my eyes on you. Those nasty guards are playing sick mind games on her as you have no idea."
Frank put his key in the ignition and paused again. He knew he should act normal and drive, but he struggled with himself. He was mad. It wasn't the first time Coralis was in a position where she couldn't get home to him, but this time, it was different. This time, he truly was afraid he'd lose her, sentenced to death and executed, and he couldn't stand the thought of what they were doing to her, even if he knew she could handle it.
"If I'm reading this room well," said Liam, looking at Sonylla, "you and Blue share a mind-link, and you're saying that Blue's captors told her they had captured Frank, and probably that they were going to touch him, to make her talk or to break her."
"If I'm reading this room well, I'd say you, Liam, have a mate. You know. And you, Frank, you should be driving before people think I'm here to sell you drugs."
"Boss, how about I drive us to work instead?"
"Your mate is heading to work with his wolf guard. Trust, Blackquella will follow him. Hmm, think my black squirrel can summon the local squirrels to protect him?"
"Hmm Cheetah gives the creep to local cats, so I'm not sure."
"Have you tried interacting with them?" said Sonylla while Liam drove.
"The only house cats I ever interacted with were Erny, Berny, Snowball and Pumpkin, also known as Erik, Henry, cousin Sean and cousin Bianka."
Sonylla started laughing in the back seat. Frank and Liam gave her an odd look.

When the day turned in Sri Lanka, Coralis considered her options.
"If they set me on fire at the stake, I'd make sure it doesn't penetrate my skin. I'd close my eyes and glamour myself to look like a pile of ashes, and then roll away to make it look like the wind is blowing away ashes. Then, I'd glamour myself invisible and just walk away," mind-linked Coralis to Alejandro, lying on the ground and staring at the ceiling.
"GIRL! The authorities where you're at have just announced that you and Alejandro have been sentenced to death and are to be executed on Monday at noon."
