The three national teams on this island weren't particularly strong—they all ranked near the bottom on the strength list.
By the time Nathan arrived, one of the countries was already in the middle of a challenge.
After waiting just a short while, it was Nathan's turn.
"We'd like to challenge every contestant on this island."
Standing in front of the scorekeeper, Nathan spoke quickly.
Time was points—wasting either was shameful.
"Oh, you want to challenge... huh!? Did you say all the contestants on this island?"
The scorekeeper had just been about to register Nathan's challenge, but upon hearing what he said clearly, he froze.
Nathan actually wanted to challenge every contestant on the island?
"That's right. Please hurry if possible."
Nathan nodded in confirmation.
According to the tournament rules, this sort of challenge wasn't prohibited—it all depended on the challenger's strength and intentions.
Once the registration was completed, all the contestants on the island gathered together.
But when they learned that the one who came to challenge them was Nathan, every single one of them was left stunned.
Big bro, your strength is already that terrifying—do you really need to come to us to farm points?
This... this isn't necessary, right?
Nathan sent out Mewtwo, and with a smile said to the gathered contestants:
"Everyone, who wants to go first?"
Although there was a grin on his face, in their eyes, it was nothing short of a devil's smile.
This guy was basically a monster.
"I'll go first," one contestant said, taking a deep breath.
No matter what, since Nathan had officially challenged them, there was no way to avoid it.
Sooner or later, they had to face him—might as well get it over with.
This contestant released his strongest Pokémon.
While Nathan had shown off in the sparring match the day before, a trainer's true power was usually reflected in their strongest Pokémon.
The one he sent out was an Elite–level Pokémon, and he felt he should be able to at least put up a decent fight.
"Begin!" the referee announced from the side.
The moment the battle started, Nathan immediately mega-evolved Mewtwo—into Mega Mewtwo X.
And then... it was over.
After evolving, Mewtwo didn't even need Nathan's instructions.
Two quick attacks.
Battle. Finished.
Those who hadn't fought yet were dumbfounded.
They'd wanted to observe how strong Nathan's Pokémon really were, maybe get a clue about their typing so they could strategize.
But the match hadn't even lasted a full minute—how was it already over?!
Even when crushing newbies, it shouldn't be this one-sided!
Could it have been faster?
This was an opening with their strongest!
"Referee, can we begin the next battle now?"
Nathan asked with a polite tone.
The referee, still in a daze, nodded.
The battle was indeed over—Nathan's opponent's Pokémon had completely lost the ability to fight.
But this was by far the fastest match the referee had ever witnessed. No contest.
The second contestant stepped forward.
This guy was clever—he ordered an attack the moment the match began.
Even if he lost, he wanted to at least land a hit on Nathan's Pokémon.
But it was no use.
Mewtwo, with overwhelming power and speed, dodged the attack and instantly wiped out the opponent.
At this point, all Nathan wanted to say was:
"It's not that I'm too strong—it's that you're all too weak."
Watching from the side, Evelyn silently observed Nathan's battle, and for the first time, she fully accepted her fate: she was only fit to be his assistant.
This speed, this level of strength... she couldn't even hope to catch up.
How on earth did Nathan raise his Pokémon to such monstrous levels?!
The referee and scorekeeper shifted into mechanical mode—announcing results and updating scores like clockwork.
Half an hour later, Nathan and Evelyn had already cleared out the entire island and were heading to the next one.
At that moment, the official world tournament aerial drones had just begun filming.
Very soon, dozens upon dozens of live stream screens appeared online.
Since Nathan and Evelyn had left their home island, there were no camera feeds from there.
This made viewers from their own country furious.
Why do all the other islands have live footage, but not our team?
Fortunately, the drone at the second island soon picked up Nathan and Evelyn's movements.
Each island in the archipelago varied in size, and accordingly, the number of teams stationed on each differed as well.
This island was huge, roughly the size of a third-tier city.
And stationed here were teams from twelve different countries.
Nathan and Evelyn quickly located the scorekeeper.
"We'd like to challenge all the contestants on this island," Nathan said.
This scorekeeper had already heard about Nathan over the intercom.
While inwardly marveling at Nathan's strength, he registered the challenge without question.
The drone caught footage of Nathan stating he wanted to challenge all the island's contestants.
At first, only a few viewers from his home country saw this scene.
But people from the other countries definitely did—after all, twelve national teams were stationed on this island.
"This guy is way too arrogant! Just wait until he meets our country's Casey—he'll get put in his place!"
"Hmph! Jack from our team will show him what a real trainer looks like!"
"Huh?! That's Nathan!"
As soon as Nathan appeared on the stream, tons of domestic viewers flocked in to watch.
There were still others battling on the island, but Nathan's challenge didn't interfere with them.
With this many people from twelve countries, there was no way Nathan could fight them all at once.
"Referee," Nathan said, walking up, "am I allowed to use two or more Pokémon to challenge two or more contestants simultaneously?"
Even though he was winning quickly, going one by one was still too inefficient.
He was wondering if he could let multiple Pokémon fight at once.
The referee was caught off guard and decided to escalate the question.
Soon, the query reached the tournament officials.
After some discussion, the tournament organizers agreed—it was allowed.
If a trainer had enough powerful Pokémon, they could even take on a hundred opponents at once.
Of course, few would dare do that.
After all, without commands from their trainer, Pokémon usually couldn't fight at their full potential.
When the referee informed Nathan that it was permitted, he grinned—a wide, delighted grin.
If that's the case, then don't blame me for going all out!
-----------------------
When the challengers arrived, Nathan smiled slyly.
"Come out—Volcarona!"
"Come out—Frosmoth!"
"Come out—"
He continued calling out his team.
"Alright, no need to be polite," Nathan said to the stunned crowd, motioning to the Pokémon beside him.
"Pick whichever one you want to battle. Anyone is fine."
The crowd watched his actions with disbelief.
What was this guy trying to do?
When they heard Nathan's words, many of them were furious.
What an insult—was he not even taking them seriously?
"Humph! So arrogant! I'll see just how powerful these Pokémon of yours really—wait... what the hell??"
One contestant stepped forward to mock Nathan and planned to choose a Pokémon he thought he could beat.
But the moment he took a closer look—he was stunned.
A Champion-tier Volcarona?! He wasn't going to fight that!
A Champion-tier Frosmoth?! No way!
An ultra-rare peak Elite level Zeraora?! Forget it!
He looked around.
There wasn't a single one of Nathan's Pokémon that he could confidently defeat.
"What's wrong with my Pokémon? Hurry up and choose.
There are so many people waiting behind you—if you don't choose, I'll choose for you."
Nathan chuckled.
"Alright then—Pangoro, you're up."
Since the guy refused to pick, Nathan sent Pangoro into battle.
Devil.
This man was definitely a devil.
And a rich devil at that—how else could he raise so many powerful Pokémon?
Most of the contestants here only had one or two Pokémon that were worth training seriously.
But even their most-trained Pokémon looked poverty-stricken compared to Nathan's lineup.
The difference was like raising a child on scraps vs. raising them with gold.
The challenger stared at the towering Pangoro before him.
This Pangoro was massively larger than the average—no, several times larger.
"Referee, sorry to trouble you," Nathan said with a smile.
"Having to oversee so many Pokémon battling at once must be a hassle."
The battle began.
And as more people stepped forward, the rest behind them started praying—
Praying that they wouldn't end up facing the Champion-tier Pokémon.
But Nathan only had so many Pokémon—
It was inevitable that someone would end up drawing Volcarona or Frosmoth...
