Chapter 290 - Chapter 290

Nathan actually wanted to buy a mystic realm now!

"Yeah, have you heard about what happened in Grace City? My Pokémon destroyed another training room, so… you get the idea," Nathan said helplessly.

He really had no other choice. If he could avoid it, he wouldn't spend the money to buy a mystic realm. After all, if it's even possible to buy one, the price wouldn't be cheap.

But as his Pokémon grew stronger, regular training rooms were becoming more and more unsuitable. What was suitable now was a mystic realm. They offered more privacy than training rooms and, more importantly, allowed Pokémon to spar freely—without accidentally demolishing the facilities like last time.

Just last night, he had spent a long time training Mewtwo and Volcarona.

"I'll help you ask around, but I can't make any promises. A mystic realm isn't like a piece of real estate, you know," Kelly said, equally troubled.

While he waited, Nathan didn't stay idle. He also gave Mayor John a call.

Now that he had property and a company in Grace City, if the mystic realm was located there, it would be even better.

When Nathan told Mayor John he wanted to buy a mystic realm, Mayor John reacted exactly the same as Kelly.

After promising to ask around, Mayor John ended the call.

Meanwhile, after hanging up with Nathan, Kelly immediately got in touch with his superiors. They responded quickly.

Nathan was allowed to purchase a mystic realm, but the one sold to him had to be carefully selected.

Some mystic realms still had abundant natural resources. Selling such a realm to Nathan for Pokémon training would be inappropriate.

So, the government decided to select one that lacked significant resources—one that people no longer had much interest in exploring.

Before long, Nathan received a call from Kelly.

"Nathan, there's a small mystic realm between Grace City and Aderan City. It's not large, but more than enough for you to train your Pokémon. Are you interested?"

Kelly didn't waste words and got straight to the point.

"Oh? And it's near Grace City?" Nathan responded in surprise.

This was practically tailor-made for him!

"Of course. They knew your company was in Grace City, so they picked something close by," Kelly said, full of envy.

Geniuses were just different—even the government was selecting mystic realms specifically for Nathan. This kind of treatment was beyond what normal people could imagine.

"Can I go check it out now?"

Since he could buy it, it was basically a done deal. And given how close it was, riding his Flygon there wouldn't take long at all.

A private mystic realm—just thinking about it made his heart race.

He used to envy people who owned their own islands—so rich, so extravagant. But now he could proudly say: "Sorry, I don't have a private island… but I do have my own mystic realm."

Because the realm was located between Grace City and Aderan City, it had always been jointly managed by both cities. To finalize the purchase, he still needed to meet with Mayor John.

Fortunately, by the time Nathan and Kelly finished their call, Mayor John and the Aderan City mayor had already been informed.

After coordinating with Mayor John, the three parties agreed to meet outside the mystic realm.

Without hesitation, Nathan mounted his Flygon and flew straight there.

After about half an hour, he arrived at the mystic realm's entrance.

Mayor John was already waiting there with the mayor of Aderan City.

"Nathan, you're here. Let me introduce you—this is Mayor Benedict Calwin of Aderan City," Mayor John said as he walked up with Mayor Benedict after seeing Nathan dismount from Flygon.

"Hello," Mayor Benedict greeted politely, extending his right hand.

"Hello, and thank you for coming all the way here," Nathan replied just as politely as he shook his hand.

Soon after, the three began discussing the purchase of the mystic realm.

The price had already been set: 3.5 billion Pokécoins.

Although it sounded like a lot, it was actually quite cheap—in fact, it was a real bargain.

After all, this was a mystic realm!

The discussion didn't last long—after all, this was a state-level privilege being extended to Nathan.

Once the main terms were settled, it was time for Nathan to inspect the realm himself.

Mayor John and Mayor Benedict accompanied him inside.

This wasn't a high-level realm. The Pokémon inside were relatively low-level.

It was also an old realm, having existed for nearly thirty years. Over time, many of the Pokémon had already been captured—only about half remained.

Currently, the strongest Pokémon in this realm was only advanced-tier.

To Nathan, there was absolutely no threat.

"Nathan, to be honest, I'm really starting to envy you," Mayor John sighed as he looked around.

While this mystic realm wasn't particularly beautiful, with proper development it could become a fantastic training area.

Unfortunately, Nathan had no plans to decorate it—what was the point? No matter how beautifully it was arranged, it wouldn't survive even a single sparring match between Mewtwo and Volcarona.

"This mystic realm spans about 15 square kilometers. You won't have to worry about your Pokémon having enough room to spar anymore," Mayor John added, recalling last night's incident and shuddering.

Thankfully, the training room that got destroyed was part of Grace City Pokémon University. If it had been in the city, it would've been a disaster.

If that fire had spread, it could've become a catastrophic event.

"Let's hope so…" Nathan said uncertainly.

His Pokémon were only going to get stronger. One day, even this mystic realm might not be able to contain them.

"Alright, there's really nothing much else to see. Let's go sign the contract," Mayor Benedict suggested when he saw Nathan was satisfied.

"Sure, let's go," Nathan agreed.

After signing the contract, the mystic realm officially became Nathan's private property.

Of course, that also meant spending 3.5 billion Pokécoins.

His original 15 billion Pokécoin fortune had now shrunk noticeably.

He'd initially thought that money would last a while—but at this rate, he'd burn through it sooner than expected.

After receiving the contract, Nathan immediately summoned Grog.

Now that the mystic realm belonged to him, it needed to be cleared—just in case someone was still inside.

He also had to assign people to guard the entrance to prevent any unauthorized access.

After purchasing the mystic realm, Nathan began "redecorating"—or rather, demolishing it.

The Pokémon that still lived in the realm were relocated to one corner after Nathan paid the appropriate fee.

He spent about a week training in the realm before receiving a call from Kelly.

The World Tournament was about to begin!

"In five days, a team will come pick you up from Grace City. You don't need to prepare anything—just bring your Pokémon," Kelly said.

This time, Nathan was representing the region in the World Tournament, and Kelly would accompany him as his assistant.

Also participating in the tournament was Evelyn.

Even though she didn't get much stage time during the Pacific regional tournament, she had advanced thanks to Nathan.

"This is a dossier of all the participants. You can take a look if you have time over the next few days," Kelly said, handing Nathan a thick file.

Nathan flipped through a few pages. It contained not just photos of the participants, but also information on which Pokémon types they specialized in—and sometimes even their strongest Pokémon.

The amount of detail was impressive.

"Alright, got it. You can stay at my place for now. If anything comes up, let me know right away," Nathan said, accepting the folder.

He knew Kelly had just arrived in Grace City and had come straight to find him after landing.

"Your place? Well, I guess that makes sense. You are a rich man now," Kelly said, thinking about Nathan's 15 billion fortune. It made sense.

But when Kelly followed Nathan to his estate, he realized he'd underestimated him.

He'd thought Nathan's home would be a condo—maybe a villa at most.

He never imagined it would be an exquisitely built manor!

"I'm seriously thinking about kidnapping you," Kelly muttered in disbelief as he stared at the estate.

"If you think you can handle my Pokémon, be my guest," Nathan said calmly as he led Kelly to the underground level.

When Kelly saw the underground floor, he realized just how narrow his imagination had been.

The upper level was full of classical Celestian charm—while the lower level was decked out in futuristic technology.

It was better than paradise. This place was world-class by any standard.

"So, what do you think? Pretty nice, huh?"
