Sitting at the table, waiting for Kari to finish cooking, Akira was lost in thought as he watched the small figure of Kari working hard to prepare a dish that the two of them would soon eat with great satisfaction… or at least that was her intention.
To be honest, Akira didn't have much faith. Kari's movements were still clumsy and slow, as if she hadn't cooked many times before. And that was probably the truth. Although Lala had taught her how to cook, this was the first time Kari was cooking something completely on her own, and she was struggling a bit—mainly because she didn't know exactly where the ingredients were. After all, she usually practiced at Akira's house or Mikan's, but never at her own home, so she didn't know where the spices and other things were kept.
But Akira was surprised when Kari presented him with the result of her hard work. The food in front of him was simply impressive: pork tenderloin with Roquefort sauce and a bit of rice for the main dish, plus some appetizers on the side.
The tenderloin was beautifully arranged on the plate, and after eating the rice, Akira had to admit he had been completely wrong about Kari. Even though her movements were clumsy, even though it took her quite a while to make the food… despite all that, the final result could only be described as excellent.
"Do you like it?" Kari asked.
"It's… simply incredible. Did Lala teach you how to make this, or maybe Mikan? Although I don't remember either of them ever cooking this before…" I said as I put another piece of tenderloin in my mouth.
The flavor of the tenderloin complemented the Roquefort cheese perfectly, giving it a taste from another world. It was simply a masterpiece. In fact, if I hadn't seen Kari making it right in front of me, I could have sworn this dish was prepared by a professional chef.
"I'm so glad you like it!" Kari said happily. "Yes, Lala and Mikan taught me how to cook and all that, but this dish is something I researched and prepared on my own. That's why I was a little lost at first—it was the first time I'd ever made this recipe. At the beginning I wasn't sure if it would turn out well, but… it looks like my worries were unfounded," Kari said with a bright smile.
She was glad that all her efforts to learn how to cook hadn't been in vain. Seeing Akira's smile right now was more than enough to make all her hard work worth it. Afternoons of practice, learning from Lala and Mikan… every hour spent had been completely worth it just to see Akira enjoying her food.
Besides, she knew Akira wasn't lying because she had tasted the tenderloin herself and had gotten even the amount of salt right. It was simply a dish worthy of being served in a good restaurant.
…
After enjoying a delicious meal, Akira and Kari cleared the table and washed the dishes together, finishing everything in no time.
After that, time passed and night finally arrived—the most anticipated moment of the day. Unlike lunch, they had ordered pizza online for dinner. The reason? They didn't want to dirty any more dishes, and both of them loved pizza. That was reason enough.
It was late. The movie they had been watching had ended. The soft light of the lamp illuminated the living room. The atmosphere was simply perfect for the activity they were about to do, and Kari seemed to sense it because she didn't waste any time throwing herself at Akira and kissing him passionately.
This time it wasn't an innocent kiss like before. It was a French kiss, a lustful kiss where both tongues tangled, exchanging saliva and enjoying the pleasure it brought.
Without realizing it, both of their clothes had disappeared and now lay scattered all over the living room, a clear sign that not a single piece of clothing remained on their bodies. Kari's still-developing body rubbed against Akira's muscular one as they kissed passionately.
Soon the kiss broke, leaving a thin string of saliva between them.
"Let's go to your room. The living room isn't a good place," Akira said, using what little sanity he had left.
