Chapter 14 - StoreRoom Encounter

The next day after Dex and Ethan had their double date at Ethan's house, Dex decided to sleep over. He woke up tired, his eyes drowsy with sleepiness. He forced himself off the bed, got up, and walked over to the bathroom. He grabbed the doorknob and pulled, breaking it off with a small part of the door coming off too.

He was shocked, staring at the broken door piece in his hand.

"Fuck, Ethan's going to be so pissed," he muttered, walking into the bathroom. He took off his clothes, walked into the shower, and couldn't help but think about the double date he and Ethan had. The fast water droplets were hitting his head while he had his eyes closed, remembering the smile Chloe had on her face while dancing. He smiled,

"I'm in love with you, there's nothing I wouldn't do, ya! ya!" he started singing in the shower.

After what seemed like hours of singing in the shower, he came down the stairs grinning,

"Yo, Ethan, you ready for school?"

Ethan had his head buried in the refrigerator, getting some food.

"Yah, man, let's go," Ethan replied, an apple stuffed in his mouth.

"Last night was crazy, bro. I think I'm finally making some progress with Chloe," Dex declared, smiling.

Ethan looked at Dex,

"Yes, sir, is that why you turned my shower into your personal love song studio today?" then he burst out laughing.

"Man, shut up," Dex said, laughing, and continued,

"So, what about you and Nia? Is she feeling you?"

Ethan swallowed the apple he was chewing,

"Bro, I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I can't seem to get through to her. She keeps on pulling me back into the friendzone every time I try to get close to her."

Dex sighed, hugging Ethan, "Maybe you gotta show her how much you really care about her, you know? Get her to imagine how great being with you would be."

The two continued talking, heading outside in their school uniforms. Dex had the first three buttons from the top of his white shirt unbuttoned as usual, revealing his cross necklace and a hint of his muscular chest. He had a star earring on his right ear, his shirt sleeves rolled up a bit. Since they were now seniors instead of grey trousers, they wore black ones. He had also replaced his black school shoes with his white sneakers.

Ethan, on the side, always made sure to throw on a jacket atop his uniform. This time, he was wearing a black jacket.

"Oh, yah, dude, I am so sorry, bro, but I may have broken your bathroom door. My bad," Dex said, scratching his head.

"What!"

Dex laughed, still scratching his head,

"Dude, when I woke up, I was crazy strong all of a sudden. I didn't even try, but the door almost broke in half."

Ethan sighed, "Bro, are you really flexing your strength after breaking my door?"

"Relax, Ethan. You're rich now, this isn't a big deal for you. You can get that fixed with the snap of your fingers."

Ethan laughed it off,

"Yah, yah. Catch!" throwing Dex his car keys.

Dex easily caught the keys, his eyes widening in excitement,

"You serious, bro? You want me to drive?"

Ethan walked to the other side of the blue car in front of them,

"Yah, it's all you. You've got to teach me how to drive during the weekends, though," he said, opening the car door.

"Yah, sure. You've got an amazing teacher, trust me," Dex replied, also jumping into the car.

"Bro, this car is crazy!" Dex said excitedly, starting the car.

"Don't forget we've got to pick up the rest of the crew. I already texted them," Ethan said while Dex reversed the car at the same time the house gate automatically opened.

"Woooo!" Dex screamed, driving off while lowering the car roof.

They picked up the beautiful Chloe first, who was wearing her normal sexy custom-made uniform. Her white shirt clung to her bosom tightly. Two buttons of her shirt were unbuttoned from the top, revealing a hint of her red bra and her full bosom, and her skirt personally cut by her so it could be higher, revealing the full glory of her beautiful legs, which would leave any guy begging and struggling for a glimpse of her panties at least.

"Hey, beautiful, need a ride?" Dex exclaimed, lowering the black shades on his eyes, his right hand on the steering wheel.

Chloe scoffed with a smile on her face, rolling her eyes, and ignored him, jumping into the car,

"This car is amazing, Ethan."

Dex sighed, "Seriously, Chloe?"

Then they all started laughing. They went on and picked up Nia, who was more daring than Chloe. Her white shirt was made tighter on her chest, and her skirt was made tighter and shorter, the fabric holding on to her curves in all the right places.

"Wow, now this is what I call driving in style," Nia jumped in the car, amazed by the car design and the new car smell. Ethan couldn't help but feel proud of himself.

The group drove off and realized Kareem hadn't opened their text yet. They called him a few times before deciding to meet up with him at school.

They drove in the city for a few minutes, enjoying the wind in their faces and admiring the view. After a while, they finally decided to head to school.

They arrived, blasting music, all eyes on them, making their entrance extra special. Chloe realized that most of the boys were now calling Nia the number one beauty of the school. She clutched her fist, took a deep breath, and ignored them. To her side, Nia was walking, her head held high, a smirk on her face, all the boys admiring and complimenting her beauty. Once in a while, she would wave a bit.

The crew made their way into their classroom, Class-D, and to their seats. They started talking and laughing, and after a few minutes, Kareem walked in. His eyes, once orange, had turned into a light red color. He had a blue-purple diamond embedded on his skin in the middle of his forehead, between his eyes, as he walked with grace.

Everyone focused on him for a few minutes as he walked to his seat. He walked between the desks, his head held high as always, he was an Untouchable after all.

He greeted Ethan and Dex with fist bumps, then the ladies, Chloe and Nia, with handshakes, kissing their hands. He was back to being his funny self again.

"Yo! Kareem, looking good, fresh as fuck!" Ethan quickly praised, then continued,

"What's up with the diamond, though?"

Kareem sat down, "You wouldn't understand. It's wizard shit," Kareem said, flicking his finger, and a flame came to life above it. He blew out the flame, leaving a bit of smoke in the air.

"Yo! OK, Mr. Wizard, let's goo!" Dex jumped in. Then he continued,

"Oh, yah, guys, something weird happened today. I woke up with crazy strength, I mean abnormal crazy strength."

Ethan quickly stopped him, "Seriously, dude? Still flexing your strength after breaking my door?"

But Nia, Kareem, and Chloe looked at each other and looked back at Dex.

"Yah, me too, dude. I woke up with crazy strength too, almost broke my desk in two," Kareem said, followed by Nia, who also admitted to waking up with crazy strength, then Chloe also admitted to waking up with crazy strength. She remembered how she had locked her door before going to sleep.

When she woke up, she forgot about locking it and pulled it open, breaking the lock.

"I think it's because of the Orb," Kareem said.

Ethan quickly jumped in, "Yah, I don't think so, dude. If that's the case, how come I didn't get it too?"

They pondered for a few minutes, then,

"Maybe only those who wished for powers get it. Maybe it's something that comes with the power. Think about it, we aren't normal people anymore," before Chloe could continue, Marquis walked in, a fresh new haircut catching everyone's attention. The sides of his hair were twisted in rows going backwards, and the top had dreadlocks falling down to the sides. He pushed his glasses back a bit, then started walking toward his desk.

The air around him was just different. Beaming with confidence, he made his way to his desk. The Untouchables stared at him, one question in their minds:

"Did he also get the strength?"

The whole class was surprised. He walked, his head held high, and turned to look at Ann. Then he stuck his tongue out, his eyes closed, making a funny face at her, causing her to laugh.

He walked over to his seat and sat down, the relaxing warm air around him washing over the Untouchables and the students up front.

"Wait, so all of you guys wished for powers?" Ethan asked and continued,

"So only I don't have powers in the crew?"

The crew tried their best to hold back their laughter after hearing him.

Nia chimed in,

"I wouldn't call them powers."

Ethan turned toward her,

"What? If it's something supernatural, then yes, they're definitely powers."

"It's OK, bro. Batman doesn't have powers, and look at him," Dex said, trying to muffle his laughs.

"The fuck, dude? I don't wanna be Batman!"

The whole crew burst out laughing.

"It's not funny, you guys!"

Dex looked at Ethan, "Don't worry, bro. We'll get you powers soon."

Ethan was confused for a second, "Dude, that Orb is gone. We have no idea where it went."

Dex smirked, "Don't worry. Our little bitch over there will find it for us, right, Marquis?"

Marquis was shocked. How was he going to find it? It took his father more than thirty years to find it.

Dex asked again, "You'll find it, right, Marquis?"

Marquis really didn't want to stress himself out with the situation. If things got too hard for him, he had found a new way of getting rid of problems: ask Tommy.

"Sure, I'll find it," Marquis answered, not looking back. Dex was offended, but he decided not to act. He could feel something was different about Marquis. He didn't know what, but he could feel it.

The classes went by really fast, and lunch time finally arrived. Marquis quickly got up and left with Ann behind him.

"Hey, Marquis!"

He quickly turned around to see Ann.

"Hey, how are you?"

"I'm fine. You look different," she said, looking at his hair.

Marquis got shy and looked to the side,

"I just thought I'd try something new."

She smiled, "I like it, especially the lines between the eyebrows. So, you wanna eat with me today?"

He was excited, but he remembered something, "Sorry, Ann. I promised Miss Chiedza I'd go see her. Maybe next time?"

Ann looked down, a bit disappointed. She told him she understood and turned around to walk away.

"Hey, you wanna walk me there? You and I never really get to talk as much," he asked.

She turned around and quickly agreed. They headed toward Miss Chiedza, chatting. Marquis was surprisingly way more shy than Ann. Behind them, Koby from Class B followed.

In the classroom, two boys approached Nia. They seemed embarrassed and shy but still made their way toward her.

"My queen, this is for you," they both said, getting on their knees, presenting all the money they had toward her.

Nia smirked and swiftly took the money. She lowered her head toward the boys, her face between theirs, and whispered,

"Thank you, boys," leaving both of them blushing and excited. Even though they were in the same class, she didn't really know their names.

The two boys left, happy and whispering to each other,

"She smelled so good, dude."

"I know, right? That's our queen for you."

Nia turned to Chloe with a smile on her face, "Let's go, Chloe."

"What was that about?" Chloe asked.

"I'll tell you later. Let's go," Nia said.

The girls left, leaving the dudes alone. The dudes would soon be following to make their rounds, bullying the weak and trying their luck with some of the ladies.

"Ethan, Kareem! Let's head out!"

Ethan got up, but Kareem stayed seated,

"I'll follow you guys soon. I've got to deal with something."

Ethan and Dex decided to go, leaving him. He then remembered what had happened after he woke up in the morning, after falling unconscious the night before. The diamond in his forehead was pulsing with a glow like a heartbeat.

The book of spells he had had vanished. He closed his eyes, trying to remember what happened to the book, then he felt it in his head. It was like it was in his mind, he could see it.

He snapped his eyes open, and it was floating right next to him. He quickly grabbed it and placed it on the desk before anyone could see it.

He looked at the first page, and he could now read it.

Lunch time was almost over, and Dex and Ethan were coming back from their rounds. They ran into Ann.

"Yo, Dex! Look ahead," Ethan signaled.

Dex looked up front and smirked as he noticed Ann.

Ann saw Ethan and Dex and moved to the right to avoid bumping into them, but Dex moved right to block her.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

Dex and Ethan smiled at each other,

"We're just walking. Why are you blocking our way?"

Ann sighed and moved to her right, and Ethan quickly blocked her path.

"What do you guys want?"

Dex walked closer to her,

"You think you're so slick and smart, don't you?"

Ethan and Dex laughed for a bit, then Dex continued,

"We hear you've been talking to Marquis. Have you forgotten the rules, Ann?"

"I can talk to whoever I want, Dex. Now move," she said, trying to walk past Dex and Ethan.

Dex grabbed her hand and pushed her into a store room nearby.

"What are you doing? Get out of my way!" she yelled.

Dex and Ethan walked into the store room.

"We're going to teach you a lesson, Ann. Don't you ever forget who runs this school," Ethan said, smiling.

Dex's gaze ran across her irresistible, voluptuous body.

"Hey, Ethan! I think we should have a bit of fun with her."

Ann quickly realized what was going on.

"Stay back! I'll scream!" she threatened. But Dex quickly grabbed her, covering her mouth.

"Go ahead, Ann. Scream," he mocked her.

Marquis had just left Miss Chiedza's office, walking back to class while eating one of her horrible-tasting cookies.

"Ugh, how can a cookie taste this bad? What does she put in these?" he said, looking at the cookies before shoving one into his mouth. As he was walking, he noticed Ethan standing outside the store room door. He was guarding it and peeking inside from time to time.

Marquis thought it would be best to find another way to get to class. But before he could turn around, he stopped himself and sighed.

"I'm not afraid of them." Then he turned back and started walking toward Ethan. His heart was beating fast, the closer he got, but he had made his decision.

He got there, and Ethan was looking the other way, spying through the crack of the door. Since Ethan hadn't noticed him, he decided to keep walking. He took one step while turning his head toward the door, and through the small crack, he saw what seemed like a female student inside.

He sighed quietly,

"What are you doing?" he asked, startling Ethan.

Ethan turned around quickly, scared, and when he noticed Marquis,

"Keep walking, twerp. What I'm doing is none of your fucking business!"

Marquis noticed Dex wasn't anywhere to be seen. Dex and Ethan were basically inseparable. Marquis guessed it: "Dex must be inside."

His curiosity was piqued, and he had to find out what was going on.

"What is he doing in there?" Marquis asked again.

"Like I said, it's none of your fucking business. Now scram!" Ethan barked, getting angry, pushing Marquis back a few steps.

Marquis risked it and walked forward, surprisingly pushing Ethan to the side with ease, and pushed the door open.

Bang!

The door slammed into the wall from the force he used to open it. His eyes widened in shock and disgust.

"What the heck are you doing?!"
