Noah maintained his smile.
Zara sighed, shoulders sagging. He knew her too well—knew she'd never pass up a chance to spend time with Neko.
"I accept," she muttered, clicking her tongue in irritation.
"Always a pleasure doing business," Noah replied with exaggerated politeness, bowing mockingly.
"When do we leave?" she asked, sliding the last of her meal to Neko, who happily devoured it.
"Now."
Zara blinked. "I beg your pardon?"
"We depart now," Noah said casually. "So, dear Zara, go prepare whatever it is you need to prepare—if anything at all."
She frowned. "So early? Can't we at least wait until tomorrow?"
"We don't have time to waste."
He stood, and without missing a beat, Neko leapt onto his head, curling up in her old spot like nothing had changed.
"I'll be in my room. Twenty minutes. Be there please dear Zara."
And with that, he vanished.
