Chapter 342 - Chapter 342: The Princess on Horseback

"Shizune-nee?", Aoba pushed open the Hokage office door and stuck his head in to secretly take a look, and saw the dignified Shizune busy at the desk.

He softly called to her.

"Aoba?", Shizune also lifted her head and looked at Aoba, who was sneakily sticking only his head inside, her expression puzzled.

"What are you doing?"

"Is Sensei not in the office?"

Aoba glanced around the office, but did not find Tsunade anywhere.

"Ah, Tsunade-sama she…", Shizune had just started to explain why Tsunade wasn't there.

A chilling voice suddenly sounded behind Aoba, "Heh heh, I'm right behind you."

Aoba stiffly turned his head and saw Tsunade with a gloomy face and veins throbbing on her forehead.

"Se… Sensei…", Tsunade kicked him straight into the office, then walked in herself.

"You two sure had guts yesterday. Want to do it again here, right in front of me?"

"Th… that wouldn't be very appropriate…", Aoba looked a little embarrassed and felt very wronged, because he was the passive one.

"Heh!", Tsunade only snorted coldly and clenched her fist.

Then with a loud "BANG", she slammed the door shut.

As for what exactly happened in the office… it was not something outsiders needed to know.

When Uchiha Mikoto knocked and came in, the office scene had already returned to normal.

"Aoba, you're here too!", Uchiha Mikoto looked a bit excited, she had thought he wouldn't come to the Hokage building anymore.

"Aunt Mikoto," Aoba greeted her, "I actually came today to receive a mission."

"Eh?", Visible disappointment flashed in Mikoto's eyes.

Aoba saw it and added, "Once I finish this commission I'll go to Aunt Mikoto's home."

"Really? Then you must tell aunt in advance so I can prepare some food to welcome you," Uchiha Mikoto quickly brightened up.

Tsunade couldn't keep watching and finally interrupted their little exchange, "Mikoto, did you need something?"

Only then did Uchiha Mikoto remember and handed the document in her hand to Tsunade, "Tsunade-sama, these are the latest conditions from Kumogakure."

Tsunade took the document and read it. Aoba wanted to take a look too.

But Tsunade pushed him away, "You're not the Acting Hokage now. Hurry up and go finish your mission."

Aoba's face twitched slightly.

'Use me and then throw me away, what a heart…less woman.'

"Shizune-nee, Aunt Mikoto, I'll head off, then."

"Mm." ×2

After saying goodbye, Aoba left the Hokage office.

———

"Aoba came out."

Yuhi Kurenai and the other two waiting at the entrance of the Hokage building immediately noticed him walking out.

"Aoba, you're so slow," Yakumo hopped over to Aoba's side.

"Didn't you say you were just going to greet Tsunade-sama? Why did it take so long?", Kurenai eyed Aoba suspiciously.

She wasn't doubting Tsunade, but doubting Shizune.

"Sensei ran into a bit of a problem, so I helped take care of something," Aoba said calmly and seriously, making up an excuse.

"You really are a busy man," Kurenai teased.

Aoba didn't say anything, but suddenly noticed Hinata seemed to be staring at him.

"Hinata, is something wrong with me?"

Hinata reached out her fair finger, pinched a little bit of red from the wrinkle of Aoba's clothes, and tilted her head.

"What's this?"

Aoba's heart gave a heavy thump, but he kept a calm expression, "I don't know either, maybe I brushed against something."

"This looks like nail polish," Yakumo said. She had considered putting it on before, but gave up because she felt it didn't look good.

"Nail polish? Does anyone wear red nail polish on their hands?", Kurenai asked.

The three girls tried hard to think, but couldn't think of anyone who had red nail polish on their hands.

They didn't consider that it came from feet.

"I'm not sure. Anyway, where are we supposed to meet the client?", Aoba smoothly changed the topic.

Kurenai, for now, stopped thinking about it and said, "Fujikaze Yukie is currently filming with the crew in a town not far from here."

As a famous actress of the Land of Fire, Fujikaze Yukie travelled with the filming crew all over the country. This time going to the Land of Snow was, on the surface, also for filming.

"Looks like we still have to travel some distance then."

Both Yakumo and Hinata were drawn in by the matter of the film and temporarily forgot about the red nail polish, and started heading toward the target town.

———

"Neighhh!"

They had only just entered the town and were still looking for the client, when they suddenly heard a horse cry behind them.

Along with the cry of the horse came the sound of hooves striking the ground.

A white steed appeared in front of the four of them, with a girl in an elegant green dress riding on its back.

The four of them were ninjas, so naturally an event like this wouldn't affect them.

But the nearby market stalls were not so fortunate.

The white horse charged wildly, crashing into all the nearby displayed goods and the makeshift boards, sending debris flying everywhere.

And it continued its frantic gallop down the street without slowing.

Leaving behind townspeople scattering in all directions, and the shouts and curses of the shop owners echoing in the air.

Soon after, several men dressed as samurai riding black horses appeared on the street, chasing the white horse and disappearing down the road.

It really looked like a movie scene.

"What just happened?", Kurenai stared curiously at the passing horse riders.

But she also noticed that those people didn't have strong chakra flows.

It seemed to be just a matter between ordinary people.

Soon after, other riders also came along, apologizing and compensating the merchants along the way.

"That girl just now…"

"Sensei Kurenai, that girl just now should be the one we are supposed to protect," Hinata spoke the same guess Kurenai had. Her Byakugan clearly saw the girl's face.

She had also found it hard to believe at first that a well-known actress would be riding a horse and rampaging through the street.

Kurenai immediately reacted, "In that case—"

"I'll go bring her back," Before she could finish, Aoba spoke, and his figure immediately disappeared.

Kurenai's words were cut off, and seeing that Aoba had already left, she didn't say anything more and simply waited.

Given Aoba's strength, dealing with a few ordinary people was truly using a bull to slaughter a chicken.
