Chapter 243 - 242. Even gods… can bleed

◉◉◉◉◉

The sight was shocking.

Moments ago, Bast, the Wakandan goddess, had dominated the battlefield effortlessly defeating Red Hulk, Abomination, Electro, and Sandman combined.

But now… she was on the defensive.

And her opponent?

Nolan, Earth's strongest superhuman.

"Is this… what it means to be number one?"

"He's not just holding his own against a god… he's winning!"

Bast slowly rose from the crater Nolan had pounded her into. Steam hissed from her fur. The laser beams had hurt her more than his earlier punches proof of their potency.

"You dare enrage me, mage!" she roared.

Her body blurred into a streak of divine darkness. Her claws, coated in godforce, crackled with dimensional energy as she lunged at Nolan.

He didn't dodge.

Instead, he met her with a punch straight on.

BOOM!

The air detonated as shockwaves blasted outward.

And again, Bast was sent flying.

Nolan followed instantly.

No speeches. No mercy.

His fists rained down like thunder strike after strike while she was still airborne, pummeling her mid-flight.

"You don't let a god get her footing. You crush her."

Bast's divine energy faltered under the relentless barrage. Panic flashed in her eyes.

"What is this power?! Why is my godforce unraveling?!"

"This…" Nolan's voice was cold, his final blow smashing into her waist, "...is called Dragon Force."

BOOM!

Bast shot into the ground like a missile, dust and debris mushrooming upward.

---

"Protect the goddess!" T'Challa's ordered.

Wakandan warships shifted formation, aiming at Nolan but Oscorp was ready.

Sentinel robots, enhanced squads like Jessica's unit, Undead Battalion, Titanium Corps, and even telekinetic commandos surged forward.

Wanda stood silently above it all.

---

Inside a jet, Steve Rogers' voice crackled through the comms:

"Wanda, what are you doing?! You're attacking Wakanda! We fought side-by-side! You were an Avenger!"

Wanda only smiled.

"I go where my loyalty lies. That's with Nolan."

Her tone was unshakable.

"Then I'll stop you myself," Vision declared, floating into view.

Wanda's hand twirled. A whip of crimson chaos magic snapped to life.

"Let's see if you can still keep up, Vision."

The whip lashed forward. Vision responded with a beam of concentrated Mind Stone energy.

Red and yellow collided mid-air in a cascade of crackling light.

"You're misusing your energy," Wanda said flatly.

She raised both hands, swirling them. Scarlet runes expanded outward like an explosion of willpower.

Dozens of magical whips appeared in the air, forming a net of serpents, lunging at Vision.

Their battle sparked chaos.

With the first strike exchanged, full-scale war erupted between Oscorp and Wakanda.

Energy blasts filled the sky like meteor showers. Vibranium clashed with particle cannons. It wasn't just a battle it was a war of civilizations.

Watching from afar, General Ross could only clench his fists.

"Why do we look like cavemen in a superhuman war?"

Oscorp and Wakanda's advanced warfare made even America's military tech feel obsolete.

"Should we intervene?" asked Luke from behind him.

Ross shook his head grimly.

"No. Let them bleed each other dry."

---

Back on the battlefield, Nolan and Bast were still locked in a brutal brawl.

Fist met claw, godforce clashing with Dragon Force and psionics, shaking the very earth beneath them.

"She's durable," Nolan muttered. "Most I've fought drop long before this."

Still, her strength was breaking.

Bast, once invincible, was now bleeding metaphorically if not literally. Her divine aura faltered with every punch Nolan landed.

Her godforce once unstoppable was being torn apart by Nolan's unique fusion of Dragon Force and psionic energy.

"This is why she crushed Red Hulk," he realized. "But that same strength is useless against me."

Then came the final blow of the round.

Nolan inhaled deeply.

"Freeze."

He unleashed a breath of artic wind so cold that the very air turned to frost.

Even in the African sun, everything around dropped below freezing. The ground cracked.

Bast couldn't react in time.

The icy gale slammed into her, coating her body in crystalline frost.

Crack… CRACK…

She broke free just in time to see a fist flying toward her face.

SMASH!

The punch sent her hurtling backward, crashing into the ground. The battlefield trembled.

As the dust cleared, everyone stared.

The once-pristine, radiant fur of the Panther Goddess was now scorched, scarred, and marred by bruises.

No blood. But the damage was obvious.

"Is this what a god looks like…?" someone whispered.

"Even gods… can bleed."
