Chapter 170 - Next day II

Chapter 168

Monday morning I was taking my usual nap — the weekend had been wild. A wedding and two days of nonstop partying. Cher's birthday was similar to Regina's, just a bit less formal. But people still showed up in dresses and suits. Britney performed just like she did at Regina's, but with a twist — she made the official announcement for Tomorrowland that same night (she will be the main guest). She even raffled off some tickets to the guests.

I woke up and looked to the side. Pippa was glancing at me, then quickly turned her eyes forward, a bit embarrassed. On the other side, Sam was sleeping peacefully.

I spent the class texting with Cher and Regina — both probably pouting because I hadn't told them anything about the Tomorrowland project, even though they were clearly excited about it.

When class ended, students slowly started leaving the room. Cara made her way to the back, weaving through desks until she reached us. She leaned casually on Pippa's desk with a grin.

"So… did I miss something at the party or are you two just acting awkward for fun now?" she teased, glancing between me and Pippa.

Pippa rolled her eyes and looked away again, but her ears were a bit red.

"I'm acting normal," I replied, with a small smirk.

"Yes, it's really hard to see Jake ashamed. I've seen it maybe one or two times, and I've known him for over a year," Sam added while stretching, finally waking up.

"I hadn't noticed before, but you had a wild night," Cara observed, narrowing her eyes as she looked at the faint purplish marks on my neck.

Yeah, even with meds, they're still showing.

"That was not me," Pippa interjected quickly, defending herself, sounding a bit annoyed.

"Hey, I slipped, and it ended up leaving marks," I explained.

"I think you need to try harder, man," Freddie commented as he walked up with Carly beside him.

"I think he became too lazy to do that," Carly chimed in. "He just says whatever."

"That's because no one believes in me, not even my best friends…" I declared dramatically.

"Stop been a drama queen, we all know what happened," Carly remarked.

"Even I do," Pippa added, raising an eyebrow.

"You do?" I asked, a little surprised

"I was at Friday party" she said.

Oh yeah, they (Cher and Regina) called me how was the wedding (and if I would go to them), I told them the truth. Pippa was probably by their side

"Tell me," Cara pressed, her eyes narrowing with curiosity. "And tell us what happened yesterday."

"They kissed," Lauren chimed in, walking up to join the conversation.

"Woow, how could I have missed that?" Cara asked, smiling teasingly at Pippa.

"Maybe if you and Freddie had unclung from each other for a second, you would've seen it," Carly replied, a little sarcastic.

Now, both Cara and Freddie turned red.

"And I missed that?" Pippa said to Cara, returning the teasing smile.

"Which is incredible, as they were not exactly discreet yesterday," Lauren added.

"Okay, can we get back to Pippa and Jake — and the purplish marks on his neck?" Cara prompted, shifting the spotlight again.

"That's just Jake being Jake, and having some fun with two Colombians at the wedding he went to on Friday," Pippa explained.

"Wow, at the same time? What a playboy!" Lauren said teasing me.

"For your information, they started. They were good sisters, knowing how to share. It was like yesterday — Pippa was the one who threw herself at me," I added with a grin.

They all looked deadpan at me, until Sam finally said, "That is actually true. Well, yesterday at least."

Cara gasped and joked, "Our uptight and serious Pip, what happened?"

"She was a little more than a bit drunk," Lauren smiled.

"Yeah, it's hard to resist my charm when sober — imagine drunk?" I added, making a pompous face.

"Why did I kiss this dork..." Pippa muttered, placing a hand over her face, which made everyone burst into laughter.

"She says that, but she was like all 'Jake is so cool,' 'Jake sings so well,' 'He is cute, isn't he?' yesterday," Lauren confided with a teasing grin.

"Lauren!" Pippa snapped.

"And about Tomorrowland?" Cara said, quickly changing the subject as she noticed Pippa getting red

"This will be the best event ever!" Lauren exclaimed, excited. "Can you believe it? From someone who hadn't done a single show to a full two-day event."

"I know, right?" Cara replied with the same excitement. "And we're going to see Britney performing next to him at the show." Then her tone dropped slightly. "But my sister already texted me saying it won't be so easy to buy tickets — the site was down, the physical spots were insanely crowded and it is impossible to buy by calling, all the phone lines are busy"

Yeah, Tomorrowland was announced on several radio stations and TV channels yesterday, and even made the front page of newspapers this morning. Pepper texted me saying the team is already working on the possibility of expanding way beyond the original idea of 150,000 people per day. There are even some exaggerating, saying it will be the next Woodstock. (Are they?)

"About tickets, you don't need to worry," I added. "I have more than enough. Especially now that I'll be singing a third song with Marshmello."

"What??" Pippa, Lauren, and Cara screamed in unison.

"It's called 'Closer' (The Chainsmokers)" I revealed.

I just decided to sing another one because I really like that one. Last week, I released 'Hey Mama' (David Guetta) and 'Love Me Again' (John Newman), that makes fourteen songs already lined up for the next album.

As if reading my mind, Cara chimed in, "Wow, this will be like the 14th song for the next album. Marshmello released 20 songs on his first premium album, and he already has 14 for the second — not counting the three songs he featured with Britney: 'Toxic,' 'Party in the USA,' and 'Dark Horse.'"

I gave the song 'Dark Horse' to Britney. Told her she could sing it alone, but she nagged me to feature again.
