Chapter 165
The music shifted as I nodded to the band. "Despacito now," I said into the mic with a grin. One of the band musician gave me a thumbs up from the side.
The familiar rhythm kicked in (familiar for me). I placed my jacket neatly over the back of a nearby chair, loosened my tie, and took the mic again.

I made a "not my fault" face to Haley, who was now dancing nearby with a pout on her face.
When the song ended, a contagious encore was heard and I sang it again (Despacito was not the most viral song of the year for nothing). But this time, it was another girl who pulled me in for a kiss.
I said into the mic, "Take some water, guys, because the night is just getting started." Giving the crowd a chance to breathe and drink (not really water). One of the girls pulled me in for a deep kiss, and when it ended, the other followed suit.
"Is this some wedding Colombian tradition?" I said jokingly. "Because I love it!"
Jay approached and placed a hand on my shoulder. "I would say thank you, but it seems you're being graciously rewarded already," he said with a goofy smile.

When the song ended, everyone applauded. I had the band go straight into another Latin song so I wouldn't have to sing again.
Now free from having to worry about the singing, I threw myself completely into the arms of the two girls. I placed one arm around each of their waists, pulling one in for a kiss, then turning to the other, repeating the exchange several times.
After the third song, the two said they were going to the bathroom. I said, "Don't take long, or I will be lonely," making a heart with my hands. I was already a little bit drunk.
I took a quick walk around and spotted Uncle Charlie, who waved at me. I walked over to him.
"You really did it this time," he said. "Took two!" He patted my back proudly.
"You're not bad yourself," I said, glancing at the brunette he was with. Then I leaned in and whispered to him, "Don't tell me that she is their mother." I wouldn't be surprised (although the woman seems a little young to be their mom).
"No," he said, then added with a grin, "From what my girl said, their mother is with yours."
I spilled my drink. "I was not expecting that..." I murmured.
Charlie waved goodbye as he was heading out (just like a jaguar after catching its prey). I made my way to the table where Paige, Alex, and Manny were sitting. Manny looked a little awkward—probably because the two girls hadn't given him any chance to dance...
"Look, the man-whore appears," said Paige, mocking, with a smile on her face.
"I was innocent, they kissed first, I just kissed back," I defended myself.
"You kissed two of my most beautiful cousins," said Manny indignantly.
"I sure did, I sure did," I said, patting Manny with a smug smile on my face, rubbing more salt in the wound.
Then I stepped away and started heading back to the dance floor, when someone called out, "Hey muchacho!"
"I hear that my uncle slipped and broke his hand," said a man with a heavy accent. He looked strikingly similar to Pablo Escobar—the real one (not the actor), unfortunately for this poor bastard.
"He did," I said, while Carter stepped in and positioned himself in front of me, but slightly to the side, not blocking my view. Three more bulky men approached behind me—two with their hands resting near their waists, and the third adjusting something beneath his jacket.
The four men who had been sitting with the guy shifted in their seats. Quickly, ten more people from my side moved in—five waitresses and five men in suits, all part of my group (I had sent more people in). They all ready to act.
The man laughed and said, "Calma, calma, amigo." Then he turned to his companions and added, "Uno de nosotros," raising what looked like an aguardiente shot. They all drank together.
I raised the drink I was still holding and drank it too, making everyone look. "Uno de nosotros," I said.
The tension dissipated as we all laughed together. After some time, the man said, "Go and have fun with my nieces," glancing toward the two girls I had kissed as they approached again.
