Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Awakening the Bloodline

While he waited for them to come, all of sudden he felt a sharp searing pain course through his body as though he was being dismembered piece by piece, the pain surged through Lin Tian's body, his very bones feeling as though they were melting. He gritted his teeth, his fists clenched as the foreign memories continued to flood his mind. The experiences of the original Lin Tian, his sufferings, his humiliations, all of it merged with his own will. But among these memories, one detail stood out.

The Lin Clan's lost bloodline.

The bloodline that had been sealed for generations. A force so potent that even the heavens feared it.

Lin Tian's eyes snapped open, glowing with a faint crimson hue before returning to normal. He felt an indescribable surge of power flowing within him, yet it was unstable, untamed. He was shocked at the fact that the body of a trash he was reincarnated into had such a heavenly defying bloodline.

"I must awaken it fully," he murmured, as he quickly disappeared from the prison cell. He had to act fast. The moment his so-called 'family' realized he was still alive, they wouldn't give him another chance to breathe.

The Lin Clan resided within the bustling city of Azure River. A powerful clan, but one that had long since become corrupt. Elders plotted against one another, and the strong trampled over the weak. It was a place where status was everything, and Lin Tian, once the direct heir, had become nothing more than a discarded pawn.

Walking through the courtyard, he felt the gazes of servants and disciples alike. Some sneered, others looked away, pretending not to notice him. They all thought he was crippled. A waste. A disgrace.

But that was about to change.

He arrived at the clan's ancestral shrine, a sacred hall where the bloodline tests were conducted. The servants ran towards him to stop him, but he used his spiritual energy to blast every single one of them away leaving them stunned, as he walked past them. He had seen in the previous Lin Tian's memories how his bloodline had shown no reaction, leading to his exile from the main lineage. But this time…

Lin Tian walked up to the stone altar at the center of the shrine, his heart steady. He bit his finger, letting a single drop of blood fall onto the ancient rune-etched stone.

For a moment, nothing happened.

Then the altar trembled. The runes ignited in a blinding golden light, illuminating the entire hall. A phantom dragon's roar echoed from the depths of the stone, shaking the very foundations of the shrine.

Outside, several elders turned their heads in shock.

"This energy… Could it be?!"

"The lost bloodline of the Lin Clan… Impossible!"

The golden light surged into Lin Tian's body, and he felt his true potential unlocking. His dantian, once broken, became whole, and spiritual energy rushed into his meridians like a tidal wave. The path of cultivation that had been stolen from him was now wide open.

He clenched his fist, feeling the newfound strength coursing through him.

A voice sounded from behind him. "Lin Tian… You should have remained a cripple."

Turning around, Lin Tian found himself face-to-face with Lin Feng, his cousin and the one who had orchestrated his downfall.

Lin Feng smirked, stepping forward with a group of lackeys. "You really don't know when to give up. But I'll correct that mistake right now."

Lin Tian exhaled slowly. The old Lin Tian would have cowered. He would have begged.

But Lin Tian was dead.

And what stood in his place… was something far more terrifying.
