Romero checked every nook and cranny of the dragon palace for Malachi, but he was nowhere in sight. He searched everywhere and ordered some castle servants to join in the search, but he was nowhere to be seen.
The vampire refused to believe he went missing just like that.
He barged into his private office and yelled, ''Malachi!!!''
No response. His desk cold and untouched, showing he had been missing for hours. But a simple note on his desk was enough to grab the restless vampire's attention. He drew close and picked the note up and stiffened when he recognized this as the king's handwriting.
His eyes then ran through the simple words he scribbled down on this small note as fear of the meaning of it gripped the vampire enough to leave the room in search of him as fast as possible.
In the note, it said in beautiful, cursive handwriting: My next successor should be my mate, Wish.
