Chapter 98 - I Was Just Passing By...

"Then I'll send you to see your father!"

A barrier of Yin Qi now stood between them. Xu Sanyan ignored it and unleashed a ferocious punch that slammed heavily against the barrier.

The Crimson Mist surrounding him touched the Yin Qi, immediately dissolving with a violent sizzling sound like cold water poured into hot oil. A gap instantly appeared in the Yin Qi barrier.

Xu Sanyan's heart leaped with joy. It worked! The Crimson Mist not only suppressed Inner Qi but also Yin Qi. He wondered if it would be effective against Spiritual Power as well.

Heavenly Earth Treasures truly possessed extraordinary properties. He hadn't fully explored the Blood-Red Dagger's potential before.

Ci Sheng's expression turned grim. She had lived for over a century, and countless people had accidentally stumbled into her domain. Without exception, they had all ended up as withered skeletons on the ground.

But this time...

Something felt different!

Ci Sheng's expression grew increasingly serious. Suddenly, a clear voice called out from outside the temple, "Hey, is anyone here?"

Xu Sanyan raised an eyebrow. Another visitor in the middle of the night?

Judging by her voice, it was a woman.

The temple gate was open, and the person walked in without hesitation, muttering to herself, "How strange. Why would there be a nunnery in the middle of nowhere?"

Xu Sanyan and Ci Sheng looked up at the same time.

The newcomer was a young woman with a delicate face and a playful air. She wore a scarlet miniskirt with tiny bells dangling from the hem, which jingled melodiously as she walked. The skirt reached her knees, revealing a sliver of snow-white calf. Xu Sanyan couldn't help but glance at it.

She wore purple ankle boots made of an unknown material that looked incredibly smooth and faintly reflected an eerie glow in the darkness.

When the young woman saw the courtyard littered with blood, flesh, corpses, and shattered stone, she gasped, "I...!"

The words slipped out before she could stop them. Realizing her mistake, she quickly retracted them and exclaimed in shock, "Wow, what are you doing...?"

Her trembling finger pointed at the four figures: Xu Sanyan, Ci Sheng, and two young nuns.

The young woman hadn't seen through Ci Sheng's illusion.

Xu Sanyan narrowed his eyes, carefully sizing up the newcomer. A sense of wariness stirred within him.

Though she appeared shocked, her breathing remained steady, and her hands and feet instinctively assumed defensive postures. This suggested the scene before her hadn't truly frightened her.

The girl's eyes flickered, and she subtly edged closer to Ci Sheng, her attention focused more on guarding against Xu Sanyan.

In her estimation, there were four people present. The two young nuns were likely paralyzed with fear, frozen in place.

The remaining two were an elderly nun with a serene expression and calm gaze, standing before a Buddha statue, and a monstrous figure over a meter tall. This creature possessed four arms and three eyes, its body a mass of knotted muscles shrouded in a crimson mist, its eyes blazing with savage ferocity.

At a glance, the scene conjured images of a demonic rampage and a nun desperately battling to exorcise the evil.

The girl swallowed hard, her voice resolute. "Reverend Abbess, don't be afraid! I'll help you!"

Ci Sheng smiled and nodded gently. "Thank you."

Xu Sanyan paid no heed, too lazy to waste words on her. Since she was actively seeking death, he'd gladly oblige!

A slender figure darted out of the darkness, lunging directly at the girl. With a sudden shift, the Blood Demon's four arms tensed, launching itself towards Ci Sheng.

Xu Sanyan himself hadn't noticed that since the Crimson Mist had appeared, his temperament had become even more savage.

The girl's round eyes widened. With a flick of her sleeve, a bell suddenly appeared in her hand. She let out a soft cry of surprise, "There!"

The bell rapidly expanded, growing to over twenty feet in mere moments—more than enough to completely envelop Xu Sanyan.

The Blood Demon moved with incredible speed, dodging left and right, weaving around the bell. Sweat beaded on the girl's forehead as she focused intently on controlling the bell, unable to spare a glance elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Ci Sheng raised her arms high, gathering a vast expanse of Yin Qi behind her. It resembled a dark cloud pressing down on the city, a truly awe-inspiring sight.

"Go!"

The dark cloud surged towards Xu Sanyan, swallowing him whole in an instant. The Yin Qi furiously corroded the Crimson Mist, like two armies locked in a desperate battle. Countless Yin spirits lurked within, their shrill cries piercing the eardrums.

Xu Sanyan grew increasingly irritated, his eyes burning with even greater malice.

These Yin spirits were weak, unable to even penetrate his defenses. But like a toad clinging to one's foot, they were more annoying than dangerous.

Xu Sanyan's third eye between his brows pierced through layers of Yin Qi, locking onto Ci Sheng. A savage grin twisted his lips. "Is this all you've got?"

Ci Sheng pressed her lips together. Her methods had always been infallible, yet today she'd met her match. First, her Illusion Technique was exposed. Then, the stone statue was shattered. Finally, even her Yin Qi failed to corrode the layer of blood mist.

All her tricks had failed, and a growing panic gnawed at her heart.

Duang!

Suddenly, a deafening crash echoed through the air. Xu Sanyan glanced aside to see the massive bronze bell plummet to the ground. The Blood Demon had finally failed to escape, trapped within its shadow.

The girl let out a triumphant laugh. "Hahaha! Once you're caught in my Treasure, you'll dissolve into pus within an hour at most! I advise you to surrender now and spare yourself some suffering!"

Xu Sanyan ignored her, charging at Ci Sheng like an enraged bull. Countless Yin spirits tried to block his path, but their efforts were futile. Any spirit touched by the blood mist recoiled in terror.

Ci Sheng's face drained of color. Gazing at Xu Sanyan, now mere inches away, her eyes burned with hatred. She stripped off her Red Robe, revealing the crimson-flowered undergarment beneath.

With a casual toss, the Red Robe instantly expanded, quickly transforming into a crimson cloud that enveloped the sky and descended upon Xu Sanyan.

This robe, having accompanied Ci Sheng for years, had been stained with countless lives and nourished by Yin Qi for over a century, making it extraordinary.

The Red Robe's reach was vast, leaving Xu Sanyan with nowhere to escape. Even the assisting girl was caught within its embrace.

Ci Sheng's face grew paler as a massive surge of Yin Qi flowed from her body into the Red Robe. She could feel Xu Sanyan fiercely struggling within.

The two were locked in a tug-of-war, a battle where the loser would die!

Xu Sanyan felt as if the Red Robe were a towering mountain pressing him down, pinning him in place. The blood mist surrounding him helped alleviate some of the pressure; otherwise, he wasn't sure he could withstand it.

The girl huddled beside the bell, her silver teeth clenched as she poured every last drop of her Spiritual Power into it. The copper bell swelled slightly, pushing against the Red Robe and creating a small space for her to breathe.

"What's going on?" she wondered, utterly bewildered. She was supposed to be helping Ci Sheng.

The Red Robe bulged violently, Ci Sheng's face growing increasingly grim. The struggle beneath intensified, and she felt herself weakening.

Boom!

With a deafening roar that sounded like the sky collapsing, the Red Robe exploded. A figure shot out from the center—Xu Sanyan.

However, the blood mist clinging to him had thinned significantly, worn away by the Red Robe.

Ci Sheng watched, her eyes filled with despair mixed with a hint of relief.

She wasn't afraid of death, but she had hoped to see her sisters one last time before she died...

As the Red Robe shattered, the girl emerged as well, her eyes dazed as she looked at Ci Sheng, then scanned her surroundings. The once magnificent temple was now in ruins.

Ci Sheng could no longer maintain the Illusion Technique. Everything reverted to its original state.

Xu Sanyan wasted no time. He swiftly advanced, seizing Ci Sheng by the neck with a savage grin. "Let's see if you can cheat death this time!"

With that, he channeled his Spiritual Power and struck her with a palm strike. Ci Sheng's form immediately became translucent, gradually fading into the void.

A silver hairpin clattered to the ground.

Xu Sanyan slowly turned his head to face the girl.

Suppressing her terror, the girl forced a fawning smile and stammered, "I... I was just passing by..."
