told you?" Lucien asked, closing the small distance between them. "I promise I won't repeat a word to her."
"Umm…" Leia hesitated, her eyes flickering. "She said that I'm weak, and if I plan to stay by your side, I need to grow. Everything I've done so far only shows my immaturity. Honestly… I think it was a reality check for me. As the Pack Development Coordinator, I haven't achieved much. And… I felt Jennifer was just being honest with me."
Though Leia tried to soften Jennifer's harsh words, Lucien caught the sting behind them. He knew Jennifer well enough to imagine how blunt she must have been.
