"Who do you think you are to demand an explanation from my wife?" Gael frowns. "Whether you choose to accept it or not is your business, but I will not tolerate my wife being called names."
Emily angrily pointed at Andrea and said, "You don't know her as well as I do; she is a cheap...."
"I will consider the future of the Carter family before completing that sentence." Gael cut her off, his tone sharp.
Emily's heart sank at his words. Even though her family was rich, she couldn't afford to offend a member of the Ashford family, but how did Andrea get so lucky? Just how?
Emily glared at Andrea one last time and was about to walk out when Gael's cold voice stopped her.
"Apologize," he said.
"What?"
"Apologize to Andrea. On a normal day, someone like you isn't even fit to come close to her, and yet you have the audacity to insult her. Go on your knees and apologize to her."
"I am the Carter family heiress, and you want me to go on my knees and apologize."
