(Arthur note the system shop won't play much of a big part in the series until much later. And even then it'll be more like a supporting piece)
I inhale and exhale as I return to the eclipse and speak to the system.
"All right, are there any quests, and could you produce an AI chip I can plug into the Mantis?"
[The answer to both questions is yes. On the subject of quests, there are about 10 quests.
1. Defeat 50 Bog rats 10 of 50
2. Defeat 200 Splox 20 of 200
3. Defeat 10 oggdo 0 of 10
4. Defeat the oggdo Bogdo 0 of 1
5. Defeat 50 imperial troops. 20 of 50
6. Defeat 100 imperial troops 20 of 100
7. Defeat 50 night Brothers 0 of 50.
8. Defeat 100 night Brothers 0 of 100
9. Defeat the second sister.0 of 1
10. Defeat the ninth sister. 0 of 1]
Seeing the quests, I blink for a second before speaking to the system. Will simultaneously grab the AI chip that the system produced.
"Filter out quests that cannot be completed immediately on the planet I currently am on"
I chose this setting purely because if I saw any quest uncompleted my completionist nature would bug and bite at me constantly.
[Quest available
1. Defeat 50 Bog rats 10 of 50
2. Defeat 200 Splox 20 of 200
3. Defeat 10 oggdo 0 of 10
4. Defeat the oggdo Bogdo 0 of 1]
Nodding my head at the now displayed screen as I stepped back out of the eclipse once more. I walked over to the Mantis as they all saw me install a chip into the Galaxy map.
Greece spoke up near instantly upon seeing me do that.
"Hey kid what are you doing?"
I responded simply, well, checking with the system that everything was clear.
"I linked up the two ships so that we can communicate directly, we'll also be making sure my AI can help protect the Mantis from being hacked."
Because, believe it or not, yes, a starship, no matter what size, can be hacked. If my memory serves me correctly, it was during the animated show Star Wars: The Clone Wars where we saw a Separatist droid hack into a vinegar to cause problems. To all the Republic forces stationed on the ship. I blinked for a second before speaking to Cere.
"Oh yeah, I'm going to check out the surrounding area to make sure there isn't any more information that could prove useful to us on our mission. Since we have to walk the same path as Cordova."
Cere seems to nod before going to talk to Grace to calm him down at me just brazenly hooking an AI into his ship. I ran out of the Mantis stopping midstep as I looked at the old man.
"If you want you can jump onto my ship the Eclipse and settle in"
The old man prauf shook his head lightly as he spoke to me.
"No need Cal I actually get along with grease quite a bit. And also I'm a sociable type of guy so I don't want to lose interacting with people."
I nod my head in response before I turn around and run off to go cleanse the wildlife I had quests to complete. As I made about halfway to the oggdo Bogdo since I plan to take it out first. I stopped before deciding to ask what the rewards for the quest are.
"What are the rewards for the quests?"
Hearing the question the system instantly responded.
[All wildlife quests do not give that many rewards, excluding the legendary encounter such as Oggdo Bogdo. This will give unique rewards depending on the circumstances. Hosts do not rely on quests to make progress in the system. These are just to help augment your progress, not accelerate it extremely. For example, all the wildlife on this planet, excluding the legendary counter, share the same reward. Which is system points which as you can probably guess you can purchase items abilities and even ships. They almost supply 50 points. And the least expensive item in the shop is worth about 500 points.]
Hearing this, I couldn't help but click my tongue in annoyance since excluding the legendary encounter at best, I would get 150 points. I then noticed the system continued speaking.
[The mission for the legendary counter Oggdo Bogdo. It is the only mission on this planet that will really give you a good reward. And the reward for this mission is an armor upgrade card.]
Like work and eyebrow at that what the heck was an armor upgrade card The name was pretty self-explanatory.
[An armor upgrade card when combined with materials can upgrade the equipment you wear specifically your armor which your clothes count as armor]
Hearing this I nod my head now that was cleared up so I rub my chin before remembering a feature of the oggdo species in general had a hide that was lightsaber resistant and particularly Oggdo Bogdo had a mutated even more durable hide. I grinned now and I resume my Sprint towards location where that over aggressive giant frog was. Since now I had even more reason to kill a thing. Standing over a hole in the ground I look down to see that black and yellow spotted overgrown toad.
With a grin, I ignited both of my lightsabers and jumped down performing a plunging attack on its back. Striking it hard I didn't use the force to jump off of its back. As I landed at the entrance of the small cavern spinning around to face it I grinned holding both lightsabers and reverse grip. I couldn't help but chuckle when I saw it launches tongue at me so I use the forest to grip it tightly before swinging up with one of my lightsabers the severance tongue. I remembered playing both Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor fighting these damn things. That little move was basically a one-shot. And I believe many people would just scream and say they hate the little thing and it's spawn.
Then I would use the force to lift its mouth open wide as I shoot Force lightning into its mouth frying it from the inside the outside was tough as nails but the inside that was up for debate. As I run forward I flipped my grip on my right lightsaber grouping it more traditionally and stab upwards into the roof of its mouth right behind its eyes. I grinned as a notification from the system ring out well pulling my hand out of its mouth along with my lightsaber.
[Congratulations you have defeated Oggdo Bogdo. Issuing reward armor upgrade card.]
Are you hooked both of my lightsabers back to my waist as I looked at it before reaching into the system storage pulling out the card and placing my hand onto the corpse and activating it. I saw the corpse dissolve into light as I look at my outfit noticing it looked much more sturdy but that was about it no real visible changes.
"Hey system tell me do lightsabers function like in the original trilogy or is it running by Disney?"
The system responds pretty much instantly.
[If you get hit by a lightsaber you will be cleaved normally.]
Nodding my head as I started to leave the cave to start doing the rest of the killer quest.
