Chapter 20 - The London idyll

The next day

The sun was waking up in London, and the first rays of light were breaking through the panes of the panoramic window.

I woke up in Leon's arms, and as always, he was fast asleep, hugging me like I was his only treasure.

I got out of bed quietly, trying not to wake him up.

Going to the window, I looked curiously at the city, which was slowly beginning to come to life. The streets were filled with sounds, rustles and smells that were so far from what I was used to at home. I felt a little thrill come over me-it was a mixture of excitement and fear.

But I don't want to miss the opportunity to explore London.

My thoughts are interrupted when I hear Leon's melodious voice:

"Good morning, my sleeping beauty?" How did you sleep?

I turn around and see him with a slight smile on his lips, and his hair is a little disheveled. He looked so attractive that my heart started beating faster.

"I was just looking at the city," I say, going up to him and gently touching his cheek. "How did you sleep?"

"Like a dead man," he laughs. "But now that I see you, I feel completely refreshed."

He picks me up in his arms and sits me back on the bed, then settles down next to me.

- How would you like to visit some of the attractions today? I have already booked a tour with a personal guide, and I will be that personal guide.

My heart started beating even faster in my chest.

London!

I've always dreamed of seeing Big Ben, the Tower Bridge, and walking through the parks. And now that I have the opportunity, I couldn't contain myself from joy.

- Yes, of course I want to! I exclaim. - It's going to be incredible!

"You can prepare an umbrella," he adds with a sly smile. - London summer is not always friendly.

- Good!

While I was packing, Leon quickly took care of our breakfast. Every time I offered to help, he just waved me off.

I knew he wanted to pamper me, and that made me happy.

After breakfast, we walked out onto the streets of London, and I was instantly lost in the rush of people, sounds, and scents. We were surrounded by historic buildings, small cafes and shops, and I couldn't help but admire it all.

Leon was holding my hand, as if he was afraid I'd get lost in the crowd. We visited Big Ben and Trafalgar Square, taking photos and enjoying the little things. Later, we stopped at a cozy cafe where we tried a traditional London breakfast.

- Wow, I didn't know that eggs could be so delicious! I exclaim, biting into the crispy bacon.

"It's all the mystery of London," he laughs, and his eyes sparkle when he looks at me.

A few hours later, we found ourselves by the River Thames, and I fell in love with this place. The flowing water, the floating yachts, and the beautiful view of the city landscape made a deep impression on me.

"Are you happy?" Leon asked as we sat on a bench and watched the sunset slowly envelop the city.

- Yes, very much! I replied, and the sincerity in my voice was genuine. - I never thought that London was so beautiful and lively.

He hugged me and hugged me to him. At that moment, it became clear to me that even in the midst of a bustling city, I was happy when I was with him.

Outside of London

After a busy day, we returned to the hotel. I felt tired, but it was a pleasant fatigue from all these new experiences.

Leon made an evening cup of tea again, and we sat on the balcony, admiring the lights of the city. But the quiet evening was unexpectedly interrupted by a phone call.

Leon's gaze changed, and I realized that one of his business associates was on the other end of the line. He was in his working mood, talking with a serious expression on his face.

I looked at him and felt a pang of anxiety creep over my heart. Leon's work has always remained in the shadow of our romantic moments. I tried not to delve into his world, but now that he was far away from me, I felt like I couldn't just sit there.

"Is everything okay?" I asked when he finished talking.

"Yes, it's just business as usual," he replied, but I could hear the tension in his voice.

A woman's instinct told me that there was something more.

"Leon," I said boldly, "if there's anything you want to talk about."..

"Don't think about it, Nastya," he interrupted, but I could see how he avoided my gaze.

Squeezing his hand harder, I said:

"I'm here for you." In any case.

He looked at me with tenderness, and I knew that I could trust him more than anyone else, even myself.

The rest of the night passed in silence, but it was our night, which we spent together, enjoying every moment.

The London evening reminded us, cosily, of the importance of spending time together and being in each other's full confidence.
