It didn't feel that way to me. It felt like I could take more, like my body could handle more.
I guess this was the result of Mr. Park's training. My body had grown so used to being out of energy that it naturally started accepting energy from wherever it could. And the only energy it could find readily was the ether in the air.
That's why it became habitual for me to use ether. Over time, my body became more and more accustomed to it.
Ms. Chaeyoon wasn't an easy person to surprise. But she acted surprised so many times that it almost seemed like she was.
She told me the measuring tools here couldn't measure my full potential. She said she would need far more sensors to actually gauge the amount of ether I was taking in and the pressure I was releasing.
Still, she was able to measure some of the abilities I had.
The number of abilities is determined by the amount of ether your body can handle and the grade of the abilities themselves. From the recorded data, Ms. Chaeyoon was able to identify two of my abilities.
The first was accelerated thinking. She explained that this was a common ability among people with powers. Handling a new type of energy within the body taxes the mind, and those who don't gain this ability often struggle to control their powers, meaning they usually die very quickly.
The second was a Null-type affinity. She wasn't able to identify the exact ability yet, just the energy affinity. It's difficult to determine abilities because they depend on the individual, on what kind of power they desire.
She told me that Null-type affinity meant anti-magic abilities.
I was super excited to find out what mine would be. Mr. Park had barred us from using our abilities so that we could first learn how to use ether. If we didn't learn how to properly use ether, we'd die from ether poisoning. We have to train our bodies to accept ether as a new form of energy, if we don't, we die!
