Men don't usually suffer but women have it worse. Even when a man cheats, even when it was him who pursued his lover first, the blame will fall mostly on the woman. That's how biased the world was. He didn't want the version of Gloria that would be laid to rest to suffer injustice. That's why he threatened Simon, hoping that he would be clever for once and not do anything that would deal damage to a lot of people. Though if that matter was to get exposed, he would simply deny it to the very end and even sue those who speak nonsense, unless it was through his orders.
Of course, he had no idea that after he hang up, Simon was left with a belly of frustrations. The others were curious about what happened but seeing him so angry, they didn't dare ask and decided to leave some secrets unknown.
However, as the four of them left the hospital, the couple watched amusedly, knowing that the drama was about to start.
