Dozens of helicopters gathered above the Orange Zone. They hovered, watching as hundreds of mindless demons stormed the checkpoints, thirsting for blood.
"Commander! What do we do? They're attacking from all directions!"
Soldiers of the garrison clustered around their commanders in panic.
"The longer this goes on, the more of them there are!"
"Sir—alarms are sounding at every gate! Commander… are these monsters… really former humans?"
The demons felt no pain. They slammed into walls, clawing madly at the steel gates.
"...Weapons ready," came the commander's uncertain voice. "We'll hold our ground and keep shooting."
"B-but sir! It's useless—they're drawn to the noise!"
"I said fire! We have no orders from higher command! Keep shooting!"
The garrison opened fire.
Moments later, the helicopters received orders to launch a full barrage. Rockets were deployed indiscriminately.
Infrastructure no longer mattered—only the annihilation of every demon at any cost.
