I laughed at her strange statement and she stared
at me.
"What is funny?" she inquired, unsure of what was happening.
"Well, you come back alive every time you die," I replied and her face lit up with a smile.
"I'm serious, Lorien. I'm not sure I'll come back this time."
"Shhh," I said as I placed my finger on her lips. "You will be fine, you won't die under my watch. Do not say that again."
Her sparkling eyes stared at me so lovingly under the moonlight.
"I won't say that again," she murmured under my finger and I withdrew it.
"Let's enjoy our free time together; we will be busy with the kingdom affairs tomorrow," I stated, and she shook her head as she shifted close to me.
I could not believe I'd ever fall for a woman the way I fell for Seraphina. She was just a different person with an amazing personality which I've always misunderstood.
I placed my arm around her neck, and she rested her head on my shoulder. We sat still for a while enjoying the serenity.
